Midterm Assessment

This course has been a roller coaster ride for me. So far if I will assess my performance in the
quizzes, I can say that it is only fair. I have reviewed only enough to pass the quizzes.

Quiz 1 is about the design of tension members. I can say that it is dissappointing because I
know that I can do better. There are questions especially in the last part that is almost correct
but I have interchanged or reversed the value of the T and P. That resulted to mistakes in the
whole set of problem because it is needed to find the bearing and tensile stresses in the holes.

I am greatful that I have reviewed the problem about the net area fracture of disaligned holes. I
would have scored better in this exam if I have been more careful in answering.

Quiz 2 is about the design of compression members. In this quiz, it was the same scenario. If
only I have been careful, I would have scored better. If only i have reviewed more materials, I
would have answered the problem about the circular base plate. It was disappointing because I
would have psssed the exam. I only scored 69 in this exam.
