Performance Considerations

Solutions?
• Increase THR RED / ACC altitudes above EO ACC altitude
 Not really fuel efficient

• Detailed performance study to ensure that setting MCT ensures obstacle clearance
 Significant workload using PEP-OFP module
 May lead to increase THR RED / ACC altitudes

• Alternative solution:
Set TOGA after engine failure

Consider TOGA Thrust

Can I set TOGA?

YES,
- TOGA always remains available
- FCOM states: “Consider the use of TOGA”

Conclusion

Consider TOGA thrust

To apply fuel efficiency procedure

without any additional study

Performance considerations
- Engine Failure after THR RED not
covered by regulatory calculations
- With MCT, obstacle clearance might
not be ensured
