INTEGRATED TRAINING SYSTEM

INTRODUCING THE TRAINER OF THE FUTURE

The T-100 is more than just an aircraft. It’s a turnkey

solution for the U.S. Air Force’s T-X program offering a
high performance, mature state-of-the-art solution at an
affordable acquisition and sustainment cost.

The T-100 Integrated Training System (ITS) Family-

of-Systems (FoS) is a low risk solution because it is
based on the certified Aermacchi M-346 aircraft that
is operational with four Air Forces, includes proven
Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training capability,
and provides a safe solution due to a high level of
redundancy, including a twin-engine configuration.

Team T-100 is led by Leonardo DRS and has been

developing and delivering pilot training systems for 60
years. This team is composed of Leonardo Aircraft who
provides the aircraft and integrated training system, CAE
USA providing the ground-based training simulators,
and Honeywell for engines and related systems.

We’re proud to be the only T-X competitor building

a new, green field, U.S. aircraft manufacturing facility.
This facility will be built in cooperation with the State
of Alabama in Tuskegee. For years to come, the T-100
will bring high-tech jobs in aircraft manufacturing and
training systems to America. Making it the right choice
not only for our pilots, but for our country, today and in
the future.

The T-100 aircraft is designed to meet the rigorous

training demand of the U.S. Air Force (USAF). The
Integrated Training System leverages the proven
Leonardo Aermacchi M-346 design but specifically
designed to meet the USAF specification through
incorporation of world class industry technology to
provide USAF with the capability it needs today to
meet the requirements of tomorrow.

EMBEDDED TACTICAL TRAINING
SYSTEM (ETTS)

The T-100 ITS ETTS provides both advanced

embedded training and Live-Virtual-Constructive
(LVC) capabilities that integrate aircraft, Ground
Based Training System (GBTS) simulators and
Computer Generated Forces (CGF).

ETTS provides both students and instructors with the

following on-board simulations:

• A tactical scenario (digital map with threats

and targets)
• Presence of realistic Computer Generated Forces
(friend and foe)
• On-board sensors (such as multimode Fire Control
Radar, targeting pod and active/passive electronic
countermeasures)
• Weapons, including specific symbology and
delivery parameters
• Live, Virtual, Constructive capability to link aircraft
with flight simulators

ETTS functions can support Stand Alone (flying

a single-ship mission) or Multi-Ship networked
operations, with aircraft and simulators networked
via a dedicated Training Datalink to exchange
Tactical Scenario data with other participants.
T-100: MASTER IN TRAINING

Due to its, proven in-service, advanced Fighter

Trainer capabilities and high performance, the T-100
ITS enables student pilots to accomplish all their
training tasks.

Among the characteristics which make the T-100 the

safest aircraft for student pilots are:

• Carefree handling (stick, pedals and throttle) in

the whole flight envelope
• Quad-redundant Fly-by-Wire Flight
Control System
• Pilot Activated Recovery System (PARS)
• Twin-engine configuration (stall/surge resistant
with auto-relight)
• Redundant Hydraulic, Electrical and
Air Data systems
• Fire detection and suppression system
• Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS)
• Low wing loading providing more margin for error

Thanks to low fuel consumption (non-afterburning

engines ), T-100 high training endurance keeps costs
down and is best tailored to the training mission’s
duration to deliberately perform the required
training syllabus objectives, in a more effective and
efficient way.
HIGH PERFORMING AIRCRAFT THE BEST SOLUTION FOR THE MOST
DEMANDING AIR FORCES
The T-100 exposes student pilots to the agility and
flight characteristics experienced in front line 5th The T-100 is an evolution of the proven,
generation fighters and to the flow of information in-service Leonardo M-346. The system is currently
required to easily manage a modern network operating in Israel, Singapore, Italy and Poland.
centric combat environment.

Key attributes include:

• Full controllability at High Angle of Attack

• High rate of climb
• High speed and maneuverability
• High G maneuvering
• High thrust to weight ratio
• High-end, net-centric communication suite
• Full network capable LVC environment
