CCD will begin on AUGUST 29. We are still needing a few teachers!! Parents are invited to
attend the opening night, which will be OH SO SPECIAL with a guest performer! ALSO,
Sebastian D’Amico will be speaking on Nov. 28; and we have SO MANY new and exciting events
and activities planned this year!
“I want to thank Father John, Lisa, the choir, and friends who attended the funeral of my sister, Dorothea Haley.
We appreciate your thoughtfulness. With love, Marie Markowitz and family”
IHOP in Emporia has released a new promotion to promote community involvement. Just bring in
the church bulletin to their Emporia location, and they will offer a 20% discount off your total check.
What a deal!!
OUTREACH MINISTRY
In many developing nations, walking is the primary mode of transportation. Every day, millions are exposed to
unsanitary conditions that lead to diseases such as hookworm, threadworm, and podoconiosis. These diseases
lead to sickness, even death. They also keep children out of school, leaving them without an education and
continuing the cycle of poverty. We are collecting shoes for Soles4Souls in the tub in the back of church. Any
sizes or styles of new or gently used shoes are needed. We are collecting them in the tub in the back of church.
Thanks for your help. NOTE: We’ve now collected over 50 pairs of shoes! We did have 5 flip-flops that came without
their mates. If you brought flip-flops, take a look at the lonesome ones in the tub and see if their mates might still be
hiding in your closet. Thanks for your donations.
Our 49th annual BBQ is just around the corner and tickets have been released! If you did not
attend last year and want to join us this year, call Linda at 475-3567. OR if you can’t attend but
want to financially support our Family Life Ministry program, please call Linda; and for as little as
$30, you can get your name on our “Donor Board”! The Work list will be published in TWO
WEEKS. It is vital that if you cannot work to please let us know as soon as possible. Once work
lists are out it will become YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find a replacement. If you have preference for
a specific job or shift please let us know so we can try to meet those needs. Please note that you
NEED TO PURCHASE a ticket if you are scheduled to work at the grove. You can call Marie Wecker
at 620-475-3362 or Cassie Dieker at 620-481-9831 with questions or concerns.
