Dear Justine,

What follows is a response to your request dated 20 July 2018 for more information to progress my
complaint against the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) and Metro South Health.

1. What is your date of birth?

22 September 1960 at St Pancras Hospital, London

2. Do you have a middle name?

My birth certificate, passport and driver’s license record my middle name as Brian, but I do not use it
to avoid confusion with my father, Asoka Brian Senewiratne (who goes as Brian Senewiratne and
was a long-time consultant physician at the PA Hospital)

I now go as Dr Romesh Senewiratne-Alagaratnam Arya Chakravarti.

Alagaratnam is my maternal grandfather’s name and my mother’s maiden name. Arya Chakravarti is
the family name of my matrilineal ancestry.

5. What is the heart of your concerns?

I am concerned about egregious human rights abuses perpetrated by the Princess Alexandra
Hospital against myself and other involuntary patients of the hospital. I am also concerned about the
relationship between the senior medical and psychiatric staff and the drug companies that sell the
drugs they are prescribing and the consequent over-prescription of what are potentially toxic drugs
and wastage of public money.

6. Do you have evidence to support your claims?

7. Does the matter relate to a particular date or month?

The matter relates to numerous (more than 30) involuntary incarcerations in locked wards since
2002. At no stage was I suffering from a mental illness. The claims that I was were initially from my
family. Both my father, Brian and sister Shireen Senewiratne have worked as senior medical staff at
the hospital and used their contacts to get me falsely labelled as mentally ill, locked up, drugged, and
deprived of my income and right to practice medicine. They were motivated by hostility to my
medical and political views.

8. Please provide a timeline of events?

1976: Migrated from Sri Lanka to Australia. Father, Brian Senewiratne employed as physician by the
PA Hospital.

1977: Dux of Church of England Grammar School (Churchie)

1978: Entered University of Queensland to study medicine with maximum TE score

1983: Graduated with MBBS degree from UQ

1984: Internship at Royal Brisbane Hospital

1985: Senior House Officer at Royal Brisbane Hospital

1986: Paediatric Registrar at Royal Children’s Hospital

1987: Entered General Practice under Family Medicine Program (FMP)

1988: Moved to Melbourne; employed as GP at Willow Lodge Medical Centre, Dandenong

1990: Bought Willow Lodge practice from Southern Cross Medical Centre

1991: Marriage to Susan Ellis-Smith

1992: Birth of first daughter, Ruby Maya

1994: Established Groove-On Records recording company

1995: Beginning of a campaign by my family to convince people that I am mad.

March: Referral to the Junction Clinic, St Kilda (Melbourne) simultaneously by 4 members of my

family – namely Brian Senewiratne (father), Shireen Senewiratne (sister), Robert Purssey (sister’s de
facto) and Chelvarayan Barr-Kumarakulasinghe (father’s friend, married to my mother’s cousin).

April: Locked up for the first time – at Royal Park Hospital, Melbourne; drugged with haloperidol,
labelled with ‘hypomania’ (which I did not have). Legal and financial rights taken over by the State
Trustees after the Guardianship and Administration Board was approached by Shireen Senewiratne
and Robert Purssey. I was heavily drugged at the time and consented to the order under duress (I
won my rights back in early 1996)

June: Locked up for 6 weeks at Prince Charles Hospital under Dr John Bowles; Bowles concluded
that I did not have hypomania, mania or a mood disorder but diagnosed me as “paranoid” about my
father’s attitude and motives towards me. Injected with depot Flupenthixol which temporarily
crippled me.

2002 – locked up for the first time at the PA (Princess Alexandra) Hospital (under Dr Monica Des Arts
and later Paul Schneider); labelled punitively with ‘schizo-affective disorder’, prevented from
working as a doctor, injected with depot Zuclopenthixol with temporarily crippled me; finger and rib
broken by security guards holding me down unnecessarily to be injected (also unnecessarily).

October 2002 – returned to Melbourne with broken rib and finger.

2007 – returned to Brisbane; lived in the garage of Pawel Obrocki at 33 Arras St, Yeronga.

2008 – 2017 – over 30 incarcerations at the PA Hospital instigated by Pawel Obrocki, my family and
hostile neighbour, Jeffrey Mitchell Miller of 74 Fegen Drive, Moorooka.

11. What have you done to address your concerns?

I have tried to discuss my concerns with Dr David Crompton, Dr Balaji Motamarri, Dr Mark Taylor, Dr
Ghazala Watt, Dr Jumoke Banjo, Dr Justin O’Brien, Dr Subramanian Purushothaman, Dr Jill Schilling,
Dr Joanne Loftus, Dr Daniel Varghese, Dr Falih al-Sudani, Dr Stephen Bower, Dr Paul Schneider and
Dr Monica Des Arts as well as their registrars (including Dr Sagir Parkar who visited my home with
Nigel Lewin on several occasions when he was acting as registrar for Dr Paul Schneider), the case
managers Raghavan Raman, Nigel Lewin, Clare Gamble, Jenny Pike and other staff members of
MSAMHS. Only Dr Jill Schilling was sympathetic. She took me off the Involuntary Treatment Order
(ITO) in June 2015, however my family learned of this and got me locked up again by making false
reports about me – my father got my elderly mother to take out a vexatious Emergency Examination
Order (EEO) to try and stop me publishing things about his war crimes and support of terrorism on
the Internet. I was put back on an ITO after this “readmission” and it was changed to a “Treatment
Authority” automatically with the change in the Mental Health Act (MHA) legislation of 2017.
