Acknowledgement

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to everyone who gave me


the possibility to complete this project. I would not be able to complete this project if not for every
different individual who supported me and helped me with this project. Firstly, I would like to
sincerely my Additional Mathematics teacher, Puan Yusnamalia Binti Mohammad Yusuf for
guiding me through out the process of this project, stimulating suggestion and encouragement
which played a major role in helping me complete this project.

I would also like to acknowledge with much appreciation the crucial role of my friends,
who helped me and discussed the project with me. Without them, I believe I would not be able to
complete this project as well. A special thanks to my team as well who joined me in doing this
project and building the model together. Last but not least, many thanks goes to my family as
well for always being my constant support and back bone. They have constantly been
encouraging me and giving me moral support from the start of the project until today.
Introduction

Simultaneous Equation is known when two or more equations are involved in the same
problem and work must be continued on them simultaneously. It is an equation involving two or
more unknowns that are to have the same values in each equation. Next, it represents a set of two
or more variables whose values can simultaneously satisfy both or all the equations in the set, the
numbers of variables being equal to or less than the number of equations in the set.

This project will be regarding the application of Simultaneous Equation in our daily lives.
In Mathematics, the set of simultaneous equation is also known as system of equations or an
equation system. An equation system is usually classified in the same manner as single equations
like Linear Equation and Nonlinear Equations.

Until today, students still find Simultaneous Equations difficult and have not mastered it
yet. It can be very useful in our daily lives as well.
Task

Section A

1. Equations involving two or more unknowns that are to have the same values in each
equation. It is also a set of two or more equations, each containing two or more variables
whose values can simultaneously satisfy both or all the equations in the set, the numbers of
variables being equal to or less than the number of equations in the set.

2. Steps to solve Simultaneous Equation

From the linear equation, The unknown (y) is substituted into the non-linear

Reflection

After completing this project, i have realized that the application of Simultaneous
Equation in our daily life can be very useful. I believe that if we apply this, many problems
regarding the price of an item or something similar can be solved with ease. This method has
helped my family and I especially when we go grocery shopping. Some of the items are not
labeled correctly and because I have learnt the application of Simultaneous Equation, it did not
turn out to be a problem. In my opinion, after finally realizing how important and how much
Simultaneous Equation can be applied in our lives, it is really an advantage to learn this and
master this method.

Apart from that, this project encourages the students to work together as a team and share
their knowledge. This project also encourages students to gather information from the internet
which at the same time increases their knowledge, improve thinking skills and promote
mathematical communication.

Besides that, I have also learnt a few moral values that i believe should be practiced by all
individuals. Through this project, I have learnt to be more responsible on the work that has been
assigned to me especially work that has deadlines. This project increased my confidence as well
for work and not to give up easily when we are not able to find a solution. I also learnt to be
more punctual in a sense where I was given about 2 weeks to complete this project. I really
enjoyed doing this project too as it bonded my friends and I together.

Last but not least, I suggest this project to continue in the upcoming years as it helps in
building ethical and moral values in each individual. This too helps increase the understanding of
Additional Mathematics in an easier way.
