A point that is either not or partially closed may cause serious
problems. However, with the NSE2 or NSE2 HL point machines
by Alkmaar Railway Signalling, there is no need to worry.
Alkmaar Railway Signalling point machines are reliable, safe
and hardly require any maintenance. This is why Alkmaar
Railway Signalling point machines are used on a large scale,

applies to both NSE2 point machines and NSE2 HL point

Made to work without failing

The NSE2 point machine is fitted with a maintenance-free
brake strip. Durability tests have proven that the brake strip
still works perfectly and shows virtually no wear after one
million strokes. The wear-proof click mechanism ensures the
prevention of errors, as the open tongue is safely secured.

The NSE2 point machine’s reliability and durability are

significantly enhanced thanks to various applications. For
example, the brass contact blocks, for position indication,
are silver coated, thus preventing the problem of poor
contact due to oxidation. The NSE2 point machine is also
fitted with an Entrelec terminal block, in accordance with
NEN 1010 standard, to ensure connections to motor are
isolated when opened.

Durable down to the smallest detail

The NSE2 point machine by Alkmaar Railway Signalling is fitted
with extremely durable ceramic block cylinders. The hardness
and resistance to abrasion of this material removes the need for
greasing the cylinders during maintenance. We recommend our
point machines are overhauled every two years.

lock and seal of the hot-dip galvanised cover are designed in such a
way that moisture cannot enter the vital parts of the NSE2 point
machine. Mechanical and electrical failures are thus prevented. The
NSE2 point machine is available in two standard types: the NSE2 is
suitable for installation on wooden or concrete sleepers; the NSE2 HL
is suitable for installation in steel hollow sleepers in combination with
maintenance-free rods.

Point rods form the rigid connection between the
tongues of the point and point machines. A large
amount of different configurations are available,so
that a matching set of point rods can be supplied for
each point, we can also customise rodding sets for
your particular application. Most of the sets are now
also available in maintenance-free versions as a
result of the application of high-quality ball joint
heads. The point rods come with an adjustment
function, so that the point can be fine-tuned with
precision on location.
