The Egypt Game​ - Unit Overview

Reading & Writing 
1. Components: 
a. Summative Assessment: ​Reading checks for chapters

i. As we read, record notes as a class on Class Notes for 
Sketchboard document. Model the skill of collecting textual 
evidence to support notes. 
ii. Notes should be focused on setting, character, atmosphere, 
and Egypt references  
c. Formative Assessment: The Egypt Game Vignette Project 
i. Read Introduction by the author 
1. Make connection between author’s question “How do 
you get your ideas” and “idea roots” to the vignette 
writing the students will complete.

iv. Peer feedback 
v. Character paragraph

2. Scope and Sequence: 
a. Read Introduction by the author
