CULTURAL INSIGHT
Basically "yes" is [da] in Russian. And "no" is [net]. However, there are some expressions
which are widely used in daily life, that make foreigners be confused. For example, the typical
answer can be: [Да, нет. (da, net)]. Does it mean "yes" or "no"? It means "no". It is because
Russian [da] has several meanings. It can be also translated as "well". So, [da, net] means
"well, no".
