FARATEC® JACKING PIPES

FARATEC® Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipes have been in production and use
worldwide since 1992. FARATEC® pipes are currently marketed in more than 25
countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.

FARATEC® jacking pipes are manufactured in

accordance to ISO 25780 using the continuous FARATEC® Jacking
filament winding manufacturing method (CFW).
The pipes are made of dense laminates of Pipe Advantages
reinforced fiber, resin and silica with a high
compression strength. FARATEC® jacking pipes

Standard Jacking Pipes Injection Nozzle Pipes

FARATEC® jacking pipes can be customized in outside
or inside diameter, jacking forces or other parameters
to be more optimized for your project. Standard
jacking pipes are: DN 300 - 3000mm, PN: 1 - 32 bars,
JF: 30 - 2200 tones & Length: 1- 6 meters.
Jacking pipes for injection nozzles are specially
designed and fitted with annular lubrication ports
allowing the pumping of lubricants during
tunneling.

Intermediate station pipes

Wood Ring Rubber Gasket
FARATEC® intermediate jacking pipes are produced to
support project specific intermediate jacking station
(Interjack) requirements. These special jacking pipes
are made of two pieces, a lead and a trail pipe. The trail
LEADER TRAILER pipe is similar to a standard jacking pipe except for a
PIPE
PIPE long rebate to house the steel sleeve shield.

FARATEC® Jacking Pipe Couplings
FARATEC® jacking pipes are connected using flush joint couplings. Jacking pipe couplings have an outer diameter
equal to that of the pipe. The coupling seals are made of EPDM and meet EN 681-1 and AS1646 requirements.

FARATEC® GRP Jacking Sleeve coupling

FARATEC® GRP jacking sleeves are made of polyester
Wood Ring Rubber Gasket
resin reinforced with fiberglass. The pipe spigot has a
precision groove housing an EPDM gasket which forms a
Pipe Jacking tight seal with the GRP sleeve. GRP jacking sleeves are
available for all diameters and pressure ratings.

Stainless Steel Sleeve Coupling

Stainless steel sleeve couplings are made of stainless
steel with an EPDM gasket covering the entire width of
the sleeve. The pipe spigot is straight without any
grooves making a tight seal with the gasket. Stainless
steel sleeves are preferred for smaller diameters
GRP Sleeve
<DN400 or pressure applications. They are available for
diameters up to DN3000.

FARATEC® Quality Control

FARATEC® has qualified all jacking pipe material and
pipe designs through long term qualification tests as
well as ongoing quality control tests according to ISO
25780, and ISO 10467 or ISO 10639. All material and
pipes manufactured undergo a series of short term
and batch tests to insure the pipe’s design
specifications are met.
The qualification tests are performed on pipe samples
using the same design, material, and manufacturing
processes as in the products. The long term tests are
performed for a period of at least 10,000 hours
(approximately 14 months). These tests include; Strain
Corrosion, Long-term stiffness, and joint testing. Pipe
designs are also subject to compressive strength tests
according to ISO 25780.
Joint qualification includes a range of tests on joints
representative of the entire diameter range being
offered. The joints are tested in a number of
configurations including angular deflection and draw
simulations representing misalignment. The joints
must be able to resist angular deflection and draw at
twice the design pressure for a minimum of 24 hours.
Batch tests include longitudinal compressive tests to
determine the pipe’s compressive strengths, initial
stiffness test, and axial tensile tests.
