Survey Monkey – At the beginning of the lesson, students will be asked to take a brief
survey to see how much they know about the subject.
Show of Hands – During the lesson, the teacher will stop and ask students to raise
their hands to show they understand what the teacher is talking about.
Turn and Talk – The teacher will give the students a few minutes to turn to their
neighbor to discuss the lesson. This method of assessment promotes communication
between students.
Flashcards – Students will create flashcards with important facts and names to help
them study and learn as the lesson goes on.
Graffiti Wall – A section of the whiteboard will serve as a graffiti wall so students can
at any point during the lesson “tag up” key facts, figures and names relating to
Montreal.
Presentation – When the lesson is over, students will have to present to their
classmates a relevant piece of Montreal they found the most interesting. They must
include an online presentation tool such as Prezi, Knovio or PowerPoint.
Test – To wrap up the unit, students will be given a final exam to test their knowledge
of Montreal.
