ERL SERVICES TO KLIA2

General

1. Will both KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services be extended to KLIA2? When
will the services start?
Yes. Both services will be extended to KLIA2. Commercial services from all stations to
KLIA2 start from 2nd May 2014 when the new terminal opens.

2. What are the services being offered when the new terminal opens?
Airport transfer – passengers who are flying with low-cost carriers can travel directly
on the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services to KLIA2.
Inter-terminal transfer between KLIA and KLIA2.

3. What is the track distance between KLIA and KLIA2?


The length of the extension is 2.14km.

4. Will the KT2LCCT service still be running when KLIA2 opens on 2nd May 2014?
The KT2LCCT service will still be available until 8th May 2014. The existing LCCT
will cease operations on 9th May 2014.

Train Times

1. How long is the journey between KLIA and KLIA2 on the train?
The journey time is only 3 minutes on either KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit.

2. When are the first and last trains scheduled from KLIA2 to KL Sentral?

4. How frequent is the train service to KLIA2?


KLIA Ekspres:
Every 15 minutes during peak hours Mondays to Fridays
Every 20 minutes during off-peak hours and the weekends

KLIA Transit:
Every 20 minutes during peak hours Mondays to Fridays
Every 30 minutes during off-peak hours and the weekends

Total 7 services during peak hours and 5 services during off-peak hours.
5. What is the journey time from KL Sentral to KLIA2 on KLIA Ekspres?
The journey time to KLIA2 on KLIA Ekspres is only 33 minutes (one stop).

6. How long does it take to travel from KL Sentral to KLIA2 on KLIA Transit?
The journey time to KLIA2 on KLIA Transit is only 39 minutes (4 stops).

7. Will the train schedule change when you start your services to KLIA2?
There will be some adjustments to the train schedule for both KLIA Ekspres and KLIA
Transit to ensure the train frequencies are maintained for our passengers’ convenience.
The revised schedule will be effective 23rd April 2014.

KLIA2 Station

1. Where are the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit stations located at KLIA2?
Both the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services operate from one station at KLIA2.
The Ticket Counter is located on Level 2 within the gateway@klia2 complex. The train
platforms are on Level 1.

2. What is the estimated travel time to reach the terminal check-in area from KLIA
Ekspres/Transit Station at KLIA2?
It will take you about 3.5 minutes to reach the terminal building from the KLIA
Ekspres/Transit Station at KLIA2. Please allow sufficient time for your check-in or
baggage drop-off process, Immigration clearance and transfer to your boarding gates.

3. Will the porter service be available at your KLIA2 Station just like in KLIA?
Yes, the porter service and trolleys for luggage will be available at our KLIA2 Station.

Fares

1. What is the one-way fare from KL Sentral to KLIA2?


The fares to KLIA2 are the same as the fares for KLIA.

2. Is there any charge to travel between KLIA and KLIA2?


Yes, the one-way fare for inter-terminal transfer between KLIA and KLIA2 is RM2 for
Adult and RM1 for Child.

3. Do you have a special fare for senior citizens travelling to KLIA2?


Yes, we do have a special concession fare (standard fare less 30%) for senior citizens
travelling to KLIA2. This applies to all Malaysian citizens aged 55 and above holding a
Malaysian passport or MyKad. Standard fare applies to senior citizens of all other
nationalities. Please note that this is valid only for KLIA Transit.

4. Do you have a special fare for students travelling to KLIA2?


Yes, students holding Kad Diskaun Siswa 1Malaysia (KADS1M) can enjoy a 30%
discount off the Standard Single Trip (one-way) fare on KLIA Transit. Please note that
this is valid only for KLIA Transit.

5. Do you have a special fare for disabled persons travelling to KLIA2?


A disabled person holding an OKU card issued by the Department of Social Welfare
Malaysia can travel on KLIA Transit at a reduced fare (standard fare less 30%). Please
ask for the concession fare at the KLIA Transit Ticket Counter. Please note that this is
valid only for KLIA Transit.

6. Will Monthly & Weekly TravelCards be available for KLIA2 commuters?


Yes, KLIA Transit Monthly & Weekly TravelCards for KLIA2 sector will be available
for commuters. Please refer to the Ticket Counter or www.KLIAekspres.com for the
TravelCard fares.

7. I have bought the KLIA Ekspres EasyCard in January as I travel a lot. Can I now
use it to travel to KLIA2?
Yes, you can use your EasyCard for your airport transfer to KLIA2 as long as it is still
valid. The EasyCard fare for either KLIA or KLIA2 sector is the same at RM350 for 10
trips + 1 free trip.
VIP Service

1. Can I now book the KLIA Ekspres VIP Service if I am flying into KLIA2?
If yes, what is the charge?
Yes, you can now use the VIP Service if you arrive at KLIA2. The service will be made
available from 9th May 2014. So if your flight arrival or departure is on or after this
date, you can book online at www.VIPservice.com.my.

The rates for the VIP Service are the same as for KLIA. For more information, please
visit our website.

2. Where is the VIP Service counter located at KLIA2?


The VIP Service counter is located at the Baggage Reclaim Area in the International
Arrival Hall on Level 2.

Flight Check-in at KL Sentral

1. Is the check-in facility available at KL City Air Terminal in KL Sentral for


passengers flying out of KLIA2?
No, all passengers must check in for their flights at KLIA2 as there is no city centre
check-in services offered by low-cost carriers at the KL City Air Terminal (KL CAT)
in KL Sentral.

2. How much time should I allocate to travel from KL Sentral to KLIA2 and to reach
my boarding gate?
Please allow sufficient time for your airport transfer from KL Sentral to KLIA2 and
subsequent check-in and boarding process. You need to check with your airline on the
flight check-in closing time at KLIA2 (different duration for International and
Domestic flights).

Online Ticketing

1. Can I buy my train ticket online if I am travelling from Bandar Tasik Selatan to
KLIA2?
Yes, you can buy your train tickets online through our website www.KLIAekspres.com
or through KLIA Ekspres mobile app (available for iPhone and Android users).

2. Do you offer any special fares for the KLIA2 launch?


Not at the moment. You can visit our website or FB from time to time for promotion
updates.

3. Will you offer the KLIA Ekspres Family Package and Group Saver for KLIA2?
We will include KLIA2 sector when we have the packages on offer in future.
