serves to frame my entry as principal of Lee Hill and will guide my actions each day. My
promise throughout this plan is to serve our exceptional group of students, who demonstrate a
passion for learning and a heart for building meaningful friendships. At the center of all
decisions at Lee Hill I hope you see that we are focused on understanding, guiding, informing,
and growing our students.

In my role as principal I am dedicated to excellence in education. With all of Lee Hill


Elementary School staff we partner with parents, students, and the community in our
commitment to preparing each student to successfully meet the challenges presented in a
global, 21st century society. I am honored to return to this lion family and eager to be a part of
the incredible things we will accomplish together. PAW PRIDE!

Goals
Lee Hill Elementary School

In order to continue on our journey to excellence for all students, staff, and the
community I will utilize these goals to frame my entry as principal of Lee Hill
Elementary School.

Goal 1
Gain a deeper understanding of the culture of Lee Hill, while building positive
relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.

Goal 2
Engage all staff in providing effective instruction to meet rigorous academic
standards for ALL students, driven by our student data.

Goal 3
Create and maintain a positive climate, meeting the social and emotional needs of
our students.

Goal 4
Collaboratively identify the needs of our school and plan targeted professional
development to address these.

Goals
Lee Hill Elementary School

Goal 1. Gain a deeper understanding of the culture of Lee Hill, while building
positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
Actions Timeline
Establish structure for regular communication with community, July 2018
including website, autodialer, and newsletter
Disseminate entry plan, introduction, and communicate July 2018
availability for meeting with all stakeholders
Meet with administrative team to learn procedures in place July 2018
(arrival/ dismissal, lunch, other structures)
Host meet and greet for staff and communicate availability for July 2018
informal meetings during the summer
Host meet and greet for students, families, and community July 2018
Meet with PTO to discuss mission/ vision, traditions or July 2018
standing events, and calendar for the year
Work with Teacher Leadership Team and interested staff to August 2018
visit neighborhood sites in the community for ‘Popsicles and
Books’ events to distribute books and meet families
Maintain visibility and complete walkthroughs of all August/ Sept.

Disaggregate student data, including each subgroup both by July/ August
skill and longitudinally (data to include SOL, F&P, benchmark, 2018

Engage leadership team in in-depth analysis of student data, July/ August
identifying trends and possible factors for positive or negative 2018
observations
Identify and set up structures to evaluate current instructional July/ August
resources or strategies (supplemental curriculums, web-based 2018
interventions, etc)
Develop School Improvement Plan (SIP), utilizing July/ August
collaboration with leadership teams and division leadership 2018

Review and update procedures and protocols for discipline July 2018
Engage School Leadership Team and specialists in reviewing July/ August
and updating class placements to create positive classrooms 2018
Work with PBIS team to support Lee Hill mission and vision, August 2018-
including shared ownership and our role in teaching behavior ongoing
Meet with Student Support Team (special education, ESOL, August 2018-
SCOPE) to understand and meet the needs of ALL students, ongoing

Meet with school counselor and social worker to review and August 2018
update protocols and procedures and identify needs

Review data analysis from goals 2 and 3 with professional July/ August
development (PD) focus 2018
Review Continuous Needs Assessment (CNA) from 2016-2017 July 2018
(guided by data from the last 3-5 years)
Review and assign committees in alignment with division focus August 2018
areas (interdisciplinary literacy, mathematics/ problem-solving,
science/ inquiry, history and social sciences, leadership and
governance, commitment to professional learning, safe and
orderly environment, family and community engagement)
Based on SIP (goal 2) identify necessary PD to support goals August 2018
Communicate with division leadership regarding division PD August 2018-
for specialty teachers (low incidence disabilities, encore, ongoing
ESOL, gifted, etc) and keep abreast of their learning
Meet with division staff to review SIP/ PD needs (goal 2) and August 2018
discuss resources available in the division to support PD needs
Finalize PD schedule for school year (with built-in flexibility August 2018
for on-time learning as needs arise), embedding coaching to
apply and sustain learning
Create structure for mentoring and coaching within the September 2018
building, including coverage schedules for teachers
Complete walk throughs of all classrooms and with assistant August/ Sept

Highlight positive practices in the building and support September 2018-
