SUMMARY
The report describes the field and laboratory investigation program for the safe bearing
capacity for the proposed construction of building at Vatsalya Gram, Vrindavan,
Mathura.(Owner: Param Shakti Peeth) . The following investigations are done
(a) Conducting tests in bore holes up to 6.0 m depth at location no.1 ans 3 for SPT.
(b) Conducting tests in bore holes up to 6.0m depth at location no. 3 for Undisturbed sample.
The location of test points have been marked in the. Test Location Plan attached with this report.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.10 In view of the proposed construction of any structure at Vatsalya Gram, Vrindawan, Mathura of Soil Testing to
determine the Safe Bearing Capacity of the Foundation Soil was given to the undersigned by the.
1.20 The object of the investigation was to gain sufficient data regarding the sub soil
condition to enable one to access the value of Safe Bearing Capacity of the foundation
for the specific loading pattern as per the requirement of the structure.
1.30 The job of site investigation was carried out in the month of Feb 2017.
1.40 The scope of the report is restricted to the factual information collected during the investigation
along with the laboratory tests. Depending upon the loading pattern of the incoming structure, the
safe bearing capacity value may vary and the precise value can only be calculated (with the help of
the data contained in this report) after listing the loading alternatives at the foundation level.
However, for the sake of completeness of the report a loading pattern has been
assumed and the bearing capacity calculated for this case.

2.00 SCOPE OF WORK FOR STANDARD PENETRATION AND ALLIED TESTS
2.10 The work comprised the following items of work :
(a) making bore holes at the specified locations and up to the specified depth (refer
summary sheet).
(b) conduction the standard penetration test (SPT) up to the specified depth. The results of the
test can be seen in the ‘Bore Log Details’ sheet.
(c) collection of disturbed soil samples from the location of conducting SPT and other regular
tests.
(d) collection of undisturbed soil samples.
2.20 LABORATORY TESTS
It comprised all necessary laboratory tests on disturbed and undisturbed soil
samples collected in the course of field investigations. The following tests were
conducted to get the respective engineering property of the soil sample :
(a) Grain size analysis
(b) Atterberg limits: liquid limit, plastic and plasticity index
(c) Specific gravity of soil particles
(d) Natural moisture content

(e) Natural density
(f) Triaxial shear test for the determination of ‘c’ and ‘Ф’ of the soil
(g) Direct shear test for the determination of ‘c’ and ‘Ф’ of the soil
(h) One dimensional consolidation test
(i) Unconfined compression test for the determination of short term suitability in case of Ф=0 analysis
2.30 The office work comprised the following items of work :
(a) preparation of corrected SPT table
(b) plotting of grain size analysis curve
(c) derivation of average value of N (Standard penetration resistance value) for designing the
Foundations
(d) preparation of location plan

(e) analysis of test results for the samples collected
(f) writing of report, conclusion and recommendations regarding the Safe Bearing
Capacity of the Soil.
