CALCULATIONS
REPORT
INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this report is to document the detailed calculations of design of all structural components of
facade of zone 3, Emporium Mall, Lahore, Pakistan. The structural components include Beams supporting
facade walls, LGS walls forming façade and elements forming parapet walls. The scope of the work includes
the construction of façade using LGS walls and their supports, covering all the 9 zones of Emporium Mall
Lahore Pakistan.

This report describes following:

a. The engineering standards adopted in the design.
b. The loads adopted in the design.
c. Operational and performance requirements to be met by the design.
d. Construction materials and properties adopted in the design

The document is maintained with the latest information available for design of the structure.
DESIGN CODES OF PRACTICE AND STANDARDS
All the structural design work will be carried out in accordance to the list of codes provided as
following:

 Seismic Building Code of Pakistan, SBC-07

 American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC)
 International Building Code (IBC)
 Manual of Steel Construction, Load & Resistance Factor Design(LRFD-96,99)
 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
 ASCE 7-10, Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures
 American Welding Society (AWS)
 Cold formed steel design manual (AISI)
 D1.1-Structural Welding Code-Steel
 D1.3-Structural Welding Code-Sheet Steel
 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA Standards)
 Design of Concrete elements (ACI 318-05)
