AN ACT PROHIBITING
In human social DISCRIMINATION AGAINST ANY

ON THE BASIS OF ETHNICITY, RACE,
RELIGION OR BELIEF, SEX, GENDER,
SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER
IDENTITY, GENDER EXPRESSION, CIVIL
STATUS AND HIV STATUS, AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFOR

POINT OF VIEW
Discrimination is widely happening not only in
Philippines but in the whole world. Discrimination
comes in so many forms. It can be sexism, age,
status in life, color, religion or even your race.
There are laws that provide protections and fight
against discrimination. Implementing orders and
laws is not enough for those who experience this.
This situation makes their feelings down or
discourage them to do their roles or to achieve
their goals. There was a song in 1957 entitled
"America" in the play West Side Story which
tackles about the life of Puerto Rican in the
America. They got criticism, racism and
discrimination because of their colors and
nationality. Even the past generation they
received discrimination among others and now in
the present it seems like this is our culture now
because we cannot end this and prevent this. But I
know, not today but tomorrow we can stop, end
and put a period to this so called "culture". This
"culture" destroy humanity and we become
divided. We must stop discrimination, we need
equity and not equality, we must save the future
generation from the mistake that is still on going.
