    This research capsule summarizes a study on the factors affecting students' interest in mathematics in secondary schools in Enugu State, Nigeria. The study found that students' mathematics interest depends on teachers, students, math anxiety, class size, government policies, instructional strategies, and infrastructure. Specifically, teacher quality, student engagement, instructional strategies, math anxiety, and infrastructure problems positively correlated with interest in math, while large class sizes and government policies had negative correlations. The study provides insight into improving student motivation in mathematics.
