Assassination Rogue
Assassination is a spec based around bleeding and poisoning your enemies.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Assassinations toolkit

Vendetta
Marks an enemy for death for 20 seconds, increasing the damage you deal with your abilities and
auto attacks to your target by 30%.

Seal Fate
When you critically strike with a melee attack that generates combo points, you gain an additional
combo point per critical strike.

Venemous Wounds
You gain 3 energy each time you deal bleed damage to a poisoned target.

Mastery: Potent Poisons
Increases the damage dealt by your poisons by X%.

Fan of Knives
Spray knives at all targets within 10 yards, dealing physical damage and applying your active
poisons at their normal rate. [Awards 1 combo point, however each hit is affected by Seal Fate].

Envenom
Finishing move, dealing instant nature damage and increasing your poison application chance by
30%. Damage and duration is increased per combo point spent.

Rupture
Finishing move, dealing bleed damage over time. Damage and duration is increased per combo
point spent. [Affected by: Hemorrhage, Nightstalker]

Garrote
Garrotes the enemy, causing Bleed damage over 18 seconds. Silences the target for 3 seconds when
used from [Affected by: Hemorrhage, Nightstalker]

Mutilate
Main combo point builder.

Shadowstep
Steps behind the target, granting you 70% increased movement speed for 2 seconds.

Poisoned Knife
Throwing a knife onto the target, dealing damage and applying active lethal and non-lethal
poisons to the target.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Talents - Poison build

Tier 15 talents

With the changes in 7.1.5, talents choice became dependant on amount of enemies.
Master Poisoner in every scenario possible.

Tier 30 talents

Nightstalker is the current best talent in this tier, as the first spell you cast after a Vanish does 50% more
damage. This means that we can add an additional 50% damage to our Rupture in the opener and every
other 2 min. If you have Mantle of the Master Assassin, then cast Vanish into Envenom.

Tier 45 talents

Vigor became better than Deeper Stratagem due to the nerfs that came in 7.1.5 to Deeper Stratagem, now it
outvalues Deeper Stratagem DPS-wise.

Tier 60 talents

This is all about survival. Elusiveness or Cheat Death will be picked on 100% of the fights.

Tier 75 talents

You will be using Thuggee as it resets the cooldown of Garrote, if the target which is affected by the ability
dies. Internal Bleeding does have potential, but as we can't stun 95% of the things in raids, then Thuggee
outshines.

Tier 90 talents

Agonizing Poison stacks up to by 5 times on your targets, increases damage taken from your abilities by x% for
each stack. COUNTS AS LETHAL POISON.
Tier 100 talents

Venom Rush is the best choice here by far.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Play-style
Single-target rotation
Your main priority will to be keeping your Rupture up 100% of the time. If you end up having spare combo
points, dump them into Envenom, however don’t spam it, as you want to aim for a high uptime on Surge of
Toxins and Agonizing Poison as possible. Cast your Envenoms within the duration of Surge Of Toxins, to
increase the damage of the Envenoms. If you can't continue to cast Envenom within Surge Of Toxins, then pool
energy and go again.
Use Kingsbane as often as possible.
Use Vanish to apply Rupture as often as possible, when specced Nightstalker, unless you have Mantle of the
Master Assassin, as then you cast Envenom.

Multi-target rotation
Keep Rupture and Agonizing Poison up on your secondary targets (The more Ruptures, the better), besides
that, keep doing your single target rotation on your main target, whilst keeping the debuff up.
For 1-2 targets you use Mutilate as combo-point generator.
For 3+ targets, you use Fan of Knives as combo-point generator due to Seal Fate.

Assassination opener
Garrote -> Rupture -> Mutilate to 4-5 combo points -> Vanish -> Rupture -> Keep dots up (If Garrote comes off
cd, pop it) -> Kingsbane -> Mutilate + Envenom for Envenom uptime [Only use finishers at 4+ Combo points]

Noteable suggestion
If you are out of range and/or your Agonizing Poison is about to run out, then Poisoned Knife is a very useful
ability to cast, as it refreshes lethal poisons. There is only a 20% chance for Agonizing Poison to be applied for
each strike, but Poisoned Knife has 100% chance.

Enchants & gems & stat-weight [Poison]
Stat-weight
Agility > Mastery > Versatility > Crit > Haste*
* The stat prio will change a lot, depending on the amount of your secondary stats. You don’t want to get too
much of stat A, as then stat B will outshine it. Sim your character to see upgrades!

Enchants
Neck enchant: Mark of the Hidden Satyr
Ring enchant: Depends on your stat. Buy a: “Binding of x stat”.
Cloak enchant: Binding of Agility

Consumables
Flask: Flask of the Seventh Demon
Potion: Potion of the Old War
Food: Stat food, choose whatever stat is highest valued for you.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Legendaries and their impact
Zoldyck Family Training Shackles:
These will change what potion you use in execute phase; as when the effect of these goes into play, then Potion
of Prolonged Power will become better.

Artifact build path

This will show you the most optimal build path, how to get the most DPS out of your Artifact, the fastest.

After 35 traits

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Outlaw Rogue
Outlaw, the old combat, is now a spec based around; Run Through & Roll the Bones and being a pirate.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Outlaw toolkit
Blade Flurry
While active, your melee attacks also hits all nearby enemies for 35% of the normal damage,
however your energy regeneration is reduced by 20%.

Roll the Bones
Roll the Bones, providing one of six combat enhancement buffs. Duration is increased for each
combo point spent. [Replaced by Slice and Dice, if you take the talent]

Between the Eyes
Finishing move that deals damage and stuns the target depending on the amount of combo points
spent. [Outlaws version of Kidney Shot]

Mastery: Main Gauche
Your main-hand attacks have X% chance to trigger an attack with your off-hand that deals 210%
physical damage.

Run Through
Main finisher, damage is increased for each combo point spent.

Riposte
Grants 100% parry chance for 10 seconds, each time you parry an attack you riposte it back to the
target for 100% physical damage. This effect cannot occur more often than once per 1 second.
[Outlaw’s version of Evasion]

Combat Potency
Your off-hand attacks have a chance to generate 15 energy.

Saber Slash
Main combo point builder, has 35% chance to strike an additional time, making your next Pistol
Shot free. [Free Pistol Shot buff is called “Opportunity”]

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Talents
Tier 15 talents

Ghostly Strike increases damage done to target by your abilities by 10% for 15 seconds. This is the strongest
choice currently for ST, where as Swordmaster is stronger for AoE, if you constantly have to switch targets. If
you have Greenskin’s Watterlogged Wristcuffs, then go Quick Draw.

Tier 30 talents

This is all mobility and is personal preference, however Grappling Hook works just like warriors Heroic Leap and
is a powerful mobility ability.
Tier 45 talents

Deeper Stratagem empowers your finishers by 5% damage-wise. This is huge for Run Through, which is our
main damaging ability.
Tier 60 talents

Elusiveness or Cheat Death is used on most fights, as they are a good way to cheese some mechanics. But Iron
Stomach might see some use on consistent high damage fights, if you wish to help out your healers. This tier
depends on what you need, to keep yourself alive.

Tier 75 talents

Mostly PvP talents, however Prey on the Weak will be used most times, as it increased damage on targets
affected by our Cheap Shot by 10%. Dirty Tricks can be used as well for free Gouge, which grants 1 combo point.
Tier 90 talents

Alacrity gives us up to 20% haste, which is very powerful enough to outscale other two options, as their
damage are below average.
Tier 100 talents

Marked for Death is currently the strongest pick here by farm in every possible scenario.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

10

Play-style

The Outlaw opener [With Marked for Death]
Marked for Death at 10 seconds before pull -> Roll the Bones 1 second before pull* -> Ambush -> Ghostly Strike
-> Adrenaline Rush -> Saber Slash -> Run Through -> Curse of the Dreadblades -> Saber Slash until 6 combo
points* -> Run Through -> Saber Slash* -> Saber Slash to 6 combo points* -> Run Through, repeat.
* = If you don’t get Shark Infested Waters, True Bearing or 2+ buffs, then reroll during Curse of the
Dreadblades.
** = If you have Opportunity procs, then spend them IF you’re energy starved, if not, then cast Saber Slash.

Rotation
Keep 100% uptime on Roll the Bones and fish for great buffs [See Roll the Bones fishing], using 5-6 combo
pointsn. Use Adrenaline Rush off cooldown. Use Marked for Death/Death from Above as often as possible. Use
Opportunity procs when beneath 6 combo points [Unless you have Curse of the Dreadblades active and are in
danger of energy capping] Use spare combo points on Run Through.
[Don’t use any combo point gainers for the 6’th combo point, if you have 5 combo points, as you lose out on
too many potential combo points EXCEPT if your Ghostly Strike has less than 6 seconds remaining on it’s uptime
OR you have Cheap Tricks because then you can cast Gouge. BOTH THESE EXCEPTIONS ARE INVALID IF YOU HAVE
BROADSIDES]

Roll the Bones fishing
Always keep 3+ buffs. Always keep True Bearing. If AR or CotDB is coming up in <15 seconds keep shark.
Otherwise, re-roll.

What can I get from Roll the Bones?
Shark Infested Waters -> 25% critical strike.
Broadsides -> 1 extra combo point from each cast of a combo point generating spell.
Grand Melee -> 50% attack speed and 25% leech.
Jolly Roger -> 10% higher chance for Saber Slash to strike an additional time.
Buried Treasure -> 25% energy regeneration.
True Bearing -> Decreasing cooldown of your main abilities by 2 seconds for each combo point spent.

Subtlety Rogue
Subtlety is based on abusing Shadow Dance and Stealth to deal great amounts of damage in short periods of
times.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Subtletys toolkit

Symbols of Death
Increases all damage you deal by 20% for 35 seconds, after cast it causes your next Shadowstrike
to critically strike..

Shadow Dance
Allows the user to use all abilities and passives that requires the stance Stealth. This effect lasts for
3 seconds and has 3 charges.

Shadow Blades
Empowers your weapons, causing auto attacks to deal Shadow damage and abilities that generates
combo points to generate 1 additional combo point. Lasts for 15 seconds.

Mastery: Executioner
Increases the damage done by your finishing moves by x%.

Shuriken Storm
Spray shurikens at all targets within 10 yards, dealing physical damage. Damage of this ability is
increased by 200% while Stealth or Shadow Dance is active [Awards 1 combo point for each target
hit]

Shadowstrike
Strike through the shadows, appearing behind your target and dealing physical damage. This
ability teleports you to your target's location.

Nightblade
Finishing move, dealing bleed damage over time and slows the target for 50% during its duration.
Damage and duration is increased per combo point spent.

Backstab

Shadow Techniques
Your auto attacks has a chance to generate a combo point.

Shadowstep
Steps behind the target, granting you 70% increased movement speed for 2 seconds.

Deepening Shadows
Your finishing moves reduces the remaining cooldown on Shadow Dance by 3 seconds per combo
point spent..

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Talents

Tier 15 talents

Master of Subtlety is by far the strongest option here, as the other two have either been nerfed/hotfixed to a
quite weak state.

Tier 30 talents

Subterfuge is the most powerful choice here, as it grants you longer time in Stealth. Subterfuge acts like
Stealth and Shadow Dance and therefore grants you access to the spells and passives granted by this stance of
Stealth and Shadow Dance.

Tier 45 talents

Deeper Stratagem outshines its two opponents yet again as it can make your executioners do 5% more
damage, however leaves 0 room for mistakes. If you are new at sub, I recommend you playing with
Anticipation as it is more forgiving. [Mastery: Executioner and Deeper Stratagem has great synergy]

Tier 60 talents

This is all about survival. Elusiveness or Cheat Death will be picked on 100% of the fights.

17

Tier 75 talents

Mostly PvP talents, however Prey on the Weak will be used most times, as it increased damage on targets
affected by our Cheap Shot by 10%.
Tier 90 talents

Premeditation gives you 1 extra combo point from casting Cheap Shot and Shadowstrike.

Tier 100 talents

Master of Subtlety gives you 25 energy each time you enter Stealth or Shadow Dance. [Interacts with Vanish]
Death from Above outperforms Master of Subtlety at 3+ targets.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Play-style
The Subtlety opener
Subtlety opener changes from pull to pull, due to Shadow Techniques, which gives you a chance to gain 1 extra
combo point from auto attacks, but here is a baseline.
Use Symbols of Death pre-pull at 11 seconds -> Symbols of Death at 1 second [Pandemic effect] -> Shadow
Blades -> Shadowstrike to 5- 6 combo points -> Nightblade -> Goremaw’s Bite -> Shadow Dance ->
Shadowstrike to 5-6 combo points -> Eviscerate -> Repeat.

Rotation
Maintain Symbols of Death uptime -> Maintain Nightblade debuff -> Use Shadow Blades off cooldown -> Use
Goremaw’s Bite to achieve max combo point usage -> *Use Shadow Dance before capping with three charges
(or when burst is needed) -> Backstab as main filler -> Eviscerate with 5-6 combo points. [Don’t Shadowstrike
for the 6’th combo point, if you have 5 combo points, as you lose out on too many potential combo points]
* Remember to pool energy before burst periods [Remember that you get 25 energy from casting Shadow
Dance, due to Master of Shadows]

Noteable changes from old Subtlety
Shuriken Storm does 200% increased damage whilst Stealthed. This means that it’s worth to cast this in
Stealth/Subterfuge/Shadow Dance, IF casted when there is two or more targets!

Artifact
Subtlety gets the artifact called: “Fangs of the Devourer”.
The artifact grants us the ability: Goremaw’s Bite.
We can store 3 relics in our artifact, these being: Fel, Fel & Shadow.

Our artifact tree looks like the following:

What traits do we get and what do they do?
[This section does not include simple damage increases to spells]

Embrace of Darkness
When you enter Stealth, you gain a shield which absorbs damage equal to your attack power.

Flickering Shadows
Activating Sprint and then taking no damage and dealing no damage for three seconds, will
activate Vanish without triggering its cooldown.

Finality
After using Nightblade or Eviscerate, your next use of that finishing move is empowered.

20

Catlike Reflexes
Increases dodge chance by 15% and makes you immune to falling damage.

Second Shuriken
Shuriken Storm has a chance per target hit to deal additional physical damage to that targets.

Akaari’s Soul
After you use Cheap Shot or Shadowstrike, Akaari’s Soul appears 4 seconds later and Soul Rips
the target, dealing shadow damage.
