EE 4241 – Renewable Energy and Environment 

1. Prepare a brief note on each of the following renewable energy technologies. 
 
a. Geothermal 
b. Tidal 
c. Wave 
d. OTEC 
 
Highlight on the present level of applications in the world and the potential suitability for power 
generation in Sri Lanka.   
 
2. Give a brief description about the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC). Describe the 
science behind Global Warming as per the findings of the IPCC. 
 
 

In (1) for each technology the description can be about one  A4 page. 

For (2), refer website www.ipcc.ch. Answer can be about two A4 pages.
