Read the scenarios carefully and identify the ethical practices involved
1. A teacher in a public school is conducting a research about the effects of social media in
the behavior of the students. During his research, he makes sure that all the data, results,
methods, and procedures are correct to avoid or minimize bias he also keeps a record of
all research activities. And also as promised, he maintained the confidentiality of his
respondents. What are the good/ethical practices he observed?
2. There is a writer who copied his articles from another writer without the latter’s
permission. In close investigation, the former had other violations as well such as not
citing references of his work, bias presentation of data, favoring one group of data over
the other, use of logos without permission from their owners, and promoting his interests
while putting in disadvantage then less favored group. Also, when he’s asked to show
further results and resources used in his research, he is not hesitant to show. What are the
ethical practices do you think the former writer violated?
Note: The teacher will process the activity and give some inputs every after activity.
