been filled, checked and approved as per the DBR prepared
a) Dead Loads
b) Live Loads
c) Hydrostatic Loads / Water Loads
d) Wind Loads
e) Earth Quake Loads
f) Equipment Loads
g) Any other specific loads (Temperature, Snow, etc.)
2 Assume the sizes for various elements of the structure as per the DBR / Bid drg. Design Calc. (D.C.)DE, EC
GA drawing prepared based on the basic input data.
3 Calculate the following loads on the structure. DBR D.C. DE
3.1 Dead Loads (Self Wt. + Finishes)
3.2 Live loads as per IS:875 (II)
3.3 Wind Loads as per IS:875 (III)
3.4 Earth quake loads as per IS:1893
3.5 Hydrostatic loads as per IS:3370
3.6 Other loads as required in Data adequacy / review sheet or as per
relevant codes
4 Decide load combinations D.C. DE
5 Analysis to be carried out DBR D.C. DE
a) Manual or Computerized
b) If computerized, package used
c) Static / Dynamic analysis
d) If static, Linear or Non Linear
e) Type of boundary conditions( Support conditions)
6 Identify the design forces from critical combination D.C. D.C. DE
7 Carry out design of elements for the design forces from the critical D.C. D.C. DE
load combination as per method stated in DBR
8 If the assumed sizes of the individual members are in accordance D.C. D.C. DE
with design, proceed further else change the sizes of the members
accordingly and repeat steps 3 to 8 till design requirements
have been ensured
9 Ensure the correctness of the design results for the following D.C. DE, EC & SH
a) Overall stability
b) Stability of individual members
c) Buckling of elements
d) Deflection of structure
e) Deflection of individual members
10 Proceed for preparing detailed drawings D.C. DE, DM
