I, Chittesh Sachdeva, would like to nominate myself for the Placement committee and I want your

support in this. I am a NSIT graduate and have over 3 years of work experience wherein I have worked
at Q3 technologies (an IT firm) as a software engineer and at CSIR-CSIO (Council for Scientific and
Industrial Research – Central Scientific Instruments Organization) as senior research fellow (SRF). So I
have dealt with clients ranging from Micromax and AIG (Insurance) to Air-force and Navy. At CSIR-CSIO a
part of my job was to make official reports of the technical projects, oversee thesis written by doctorate
students for consistency, and handle guests (mostly defense personnel) and so I have developed good
formal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

The job of a placement committee member is to meet the demands of the recruiters and the
expectations of their batch mates. We not only require good communication skills for getting more
companies, we also need persuasive skills so that they come with better profiles, and also have good
hosting skills so that the recruiters are happy and they visit the campus again. The very function of the
placement committee requires each member to have clear communication, managerial experience,
and inter-personal skills.

IRMA is not what it was. The batch size has increased to 240 and IRMA is allowing more corporate
companies to recruit their students, and even the placement procedure itself is changing now.
Companies are interested in offering PPOs and selecting candidates based on their performance during
internships.

Before any placement drive or an internship marathon we need things like CV building, GD/PI/Case
workshops, and training in Marketing, Data Analytics, ERP, and finance skills. All these initiatives need to
become a part of the placement process in order to enhance the quality of the skillset of the students.

Allow me to be the bridging gap between you and the recruiters and I promise that I will work hard to
present the best side of you in front of the recruiters not only for the final placements but for
internships as well.

Every company will come in with their expectations. IRMA has had a record of 100% placements for a
long time now. So a promise assuring you that selection of any one member in the committee will
assure you that the history will repeat itself is futile.

At the same time, I have also been an active member of my past college community wherein I have
organized Techno-managerial festival “Innovision” that hosted several poets and company officials that
came to either showcase their product or to observe the level of students and the competitions.

I have also participated in a couple of International competitions (SAE AERO DESIGN EAST 2011 and
ASME Student Design Challenge 2011) and a few national championships (SAE Effi-cycle, NIOT AUV,
Honeywell Young Innovator’s Challenge) and all of them also have a face-2-face interview (viva)
component.
