Mr. Klein's first book, "Lucifer's Catechism" is intended to illuminate how each of us is capable of Thinking for Ourselves rather than believing what others tell is true and what must be believed. Lucifer's Catechism exemplifies by contrast, the difference between believing the things we are told to believe and believing what we find through our personal experience what we want to believe. Mr. Klein is now writing his second book, "The Happy Child" which is intended to illuminate to both adults and children how they can best live happy and self rewarding lives.

Lucifer's Catechism - James Eugene Klein
CHAPTER 1
The Beginning
1. Q. Who made the world?
A. God made the world.
By world, I am assuming the question refers not to just the planet EARTH but the entire universe. I see no reason why an intelligent force is required for the universe to exist. Believing that a God created everything out of nothing is OK in my mind as long as you are not just believing it because some other human being told you to believe it. Just because someone in religious authority says believe
is no reason to believe and if we believe for this reason, we place the person who tells us to believe in a powerful position over us. After that, we might as well believe anything else that person tells us including give us your money and your children
. We probably should also not try to make someone else believe what we believe through any intimidation. That can be interpreted as psychological abuse and is, at the very least, rude. At the very worst, it can be against many laws.
Being seen as having answers to the big WHY
when no one else seems to have the answer (on their own) can give their authority a lot of power. Religions seem to relish and revel in the positions of power yielded to them by their believers. A religion that admitted to not knowing how the universe came into being probably would not garner nearly as many faithful followers (and their money).
My answer is that I don’t know if anyone created the universe. It is enough for me to see that the universe exists, that I live in it and then I get on with my life.
2. Q. Who is God?
A. God is the Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things.
Here you may call me an atheist, or not
. I don’t know who or what God is or even if a God exists. Some days I wish God existed but I just don’t know. I have met many people who say they believe in a God but usually they say it because someone older than they are, told them that God exists and that they must believe in God. They use the word FAITH when describing a belief based without evidence. I don’t know if FAITH is genetically based or not. I don’t have FAITH. There have been times when I wished I had faith but I don’t have it. I don’t think I ever did though as a child I was told I had faith and was also told that if I were not careful, I might lose
