 Secure  Notes  
•  Before  operaEon,  the  operator  should  carefully  read  operaEng  manual  
and  got  trained  ，master  how  to  operate  the  equipment  independently.  

•  The  manual  contains  "warning"  and  "Tip"  in  case  of  incorrect  operaEon,  
maintenance  and  repair  leading  to  the  equipment  damage  or  personnel  
injury  or  even  death.  

•  The  "warning"  in  the  manual  is  the  wrong  operaEon  result  in  personal  
injury  or  death,  should  be  absolutely  prohibited.  

•  Tip:  If  you  do  not  follow  the  requirements  of  operaEon,  there  will  be  likely  
to  cause  damage  to  the  equipment  and  spare  parts  and  even  been  
destroyed.

 Safety  rules  
•  In  order  to  use  equipment  safely,  operators  need  to  be  rained  to  obtain  
proficient  skills.  Improper  operaEon  of  the  equipment  or  untrained  
persons  to  operate  machine  will  probably  produce  danger,  before  any  
operaEon  of  machine,  Operators  should  carefully  read  and  master  the  
operaEon  manual,.The  unskilled  operator  should  receive  training  and  
guidance  of  a  skilled  operator.  

•  Engine  operaEon  safety:  engine  operaEon  and  refueling  process  are  quite  
dangerous!  Failure  to  comply  with  the  safety  instrucEons  may  result  in  
serious  injury  or  death  (details  please  see  the  safety  manual  provided  by  
the  engine  manufacturer).  

•  security  maintenance:  In  order  to  make  the  equipment  safe  and  proper  
operaEon  in  a  longer  period  of  Eme,regular  maintenance  and  occasional  
repairs  are  necessary.  Equipment  in  poor  repair  will  become  a  safety  
hazard.

 Plate  Compactor  Safe  operaEon  
•  It  is  prohibited  to  use  the  device  beyond  its  permiXed  areas,  also  prohibited  to  use  
equipments  in  the  areas  where  have  the  passibiliEes  to  explode.    
•  Before  any  operaEons,  please  according  to  slide  four  to  check  devices  to  prevent  accidents  
and  damage  to  equipment.  
•  A  small  space  without  venElaEon  or  space  with  fire  source  is  prohibited  to  operate  
equipments.  
•  On  site  operaEon,  there  must  be  warning  signs;  prohibit  non-­‐operaEng  persons  (especially  
children)  to  enter  the  area  within  two  meters  of  the  vibraEng  plate  compactor  workspace  to  
prevent  injury,  if  any  non-­‐operaEng  persons  got  into  the  operaEng  range,  then  the  device  
should  stop  operaEng.  
•  Do  not  operate  the  equipment  in  the  areas  of  lacking  of  security  and  protecEon  devices  or  
device  is  not  in  the  default  locaEon.  
•  OperaEon  of  the  vibraEng  plate  compactor  should  remain  steady  under  the  premise;  the  Elt  
angle  can  not  be  more  than  20  degrees  when  vibraEng  plate  compactor  is  on  working,  
otherwise  it  will  cause  fuel  overflow  and  can  not  work  properly.  
•  When  machine  is  operated  to  retreat,  the  operator  should  be  in  the  side  through  the  guide  
handle  to  control  the  machine,  so  as  not  to  take  a  man  caught  between  he  machine  and  
possible  obstacles.  Local  surface  is  uneven  or  rough  compacEon  of  the  material  should  be  
parEcularly  careful.  When  the  machine  is  operaEng  under  such  condiEons,  It  should  be  fixed;  
when  plate  compactor  been  put  on  the  ground,  should  avoid  dumping,  rolling  and  falling.  
•  There  must  be  an  operator  worked  with  once  machine  got  started;  operaEon,  should  keep  
the  people’s  body  with  the  vibraEng  plate  compactor  movement  parts  have  certain  distance.  
•  Operator  should  wear  protecEve  clothing,  wearing  goggles  and  wear  protecEve  shoes.

 Engine  operaEonal  safety  
•  It  is  prohibited  to  operate  the  machine  in  the  area  with  fire  source  ,  especially  in  the  
area  of  fire  source  is  prohibited  to  add  engine  fuel.  
•  To  refuel,  must  be  in  the  venElated  area;  must  re-­‐Eghten  the  fuel  tank  cap  aaer  
refueling;  must  check  the  equipment  to  see  whether  there  is  oil  leakage  before  
starEng  the  machine,  It  is  prohibited  to  start  device  if  have  any  oil  leakage  .  
•  It  is  prohibited  to  refuel  while  the  engine  is  sEll  residual  heat  or  running;  tank  fuel  
work  must  be  clean  and  not  add  too  full,  otherwise  it  will  throw  even  clogged  
carburetor;  oil  overflow  tank,  must  be  completely  clean  and  dry  before  starEng  the  
engine  .  
•  Engine  fuel    have  to  be  drained  while  equipment  is  under  transportaEon  or  don’t  use  
for  not  a  short  Eme  ,because  gasoline  is  flammable  and  explosive  materials.  
•  Must  be  familiar  with  the  fast  stop;  It  is  prohibited  to  use  clogged  method  to  stop  the  
engine.  
•  Do  not  use  the  device  under  condiEons  of  no  air  cleaner.  
•  The  temperature  is  high  while  engine  work,  It  is  not  prohibited  to  touch    the  hot  
parts:muffler,cylinder,  and  heat  sink  while  engine  is  on  working  or  just  stopped,And  
must  wait  for  parts  got  cool  enough  before  transport  and  store.

 NoEce  of  Safe  Maintenance  
•  It  is  prohibited  to  clean  or  maintain  the  plate  compactor  while  it  is  under  
operaEon.  
•  It  is  prohibited  to  change  the  technical  parameters  of  the  machine,  if  really  need  
to  adjust,  and  then  adjusted  to  technical  parameters  within  the  range  specified  .  
•  Reset  the  safety  and  protecEon  devices  aaer  maintenance  or  repair  
•  Must  to  do  regular  maintenance  in  accordance  with  the  recommendaEons  of  the  
operaEng  manual    
•  Maintenance  and  repair  of  machinery,  should  open  the  spark  plug  cover.  
•  Frequently  clean  engine  air  filter  and  clean  the  engine  cooling  fins  dust.  
•  It  is  prohibit  to  use  plate  compactor  equipment  and  accessories  that  TEKPAC  not  
recommended  ,  so  as  not  to  cause  damage  to  plate  compactor  and  not  caused  
operaEng  personnel  casualEes.  
•  Please  use  TEKPAC  designed  specifically  for  the  maintenance  and  upkeep  of  
vibratory  plate  compactors  and  recommended  parts  to  replace  worn  and  damaged  
parts.

 Use  
•  TP5020  Hydraulic  reversible  vibratory  plate  compactor  has  a  
large  vibratory  force  and  can  forward,  backward,  non-­‐mover-­‐
able  vibratory  compacEon  funcEon  can  be  widely  applied  to  
the  soil,  sand,  asphalt,  gravel,  silt  material  compacEon  .  
CompacEon  coverage  in  various  types  of  trench  -­‐low  surface  
bonded  sand  soil,  semi-­‐bonded  sand  soil,  high  bonding  sand  
soil  and  gravel  materials.  

•  Tip:  vibratory  plate  compactor  can  not  be  used  for  hard  or  
sharp  surface,  such  as  concrete  floor,  stones,  otherwise  it  will  
damage  to  the  vibratory  plate  compactors.

 Working  Principle  
•  The  internal  combusEon  engine  through  
Clutch,Pulley  and  eccentric  block  to  generate  
vibrator  force,  the  base  plate  and  the  
eccentric  block  been  fixed  together,  it  is  
possible  to  change  the  direcEon  of  the  
vibraEon  by  rotaEng  the  eccentric  block  .  
Through  this  method  can  make  it  possible  let  
machine  vibrator  in  forward,in-­‐site,and  back  
direcEons.

 InspecEon  before  working  
•  Check  the  engine  lubricaEng  oil:  unscrew  the  oil  scale,  clean  it  
and  insert,check  the  oil  scale  level,  If  oil  is  insufficient,  shall  be  
added  to  the  predetermined  posiEon.  
•  Check  the  air  filter:  View  the  filter  is  clogged  or  not,  check  the  
sponge  is  broken  or  not.  It  filter  is  too  dirt,then  the  air  filter  
will  be  clogged,  resulEng  in  the  inability  of  the  engine  work  
and  can  not  even  start.  
•  Check  the  device  juncEon  screws,  must  Eghten  if  loose.  
•  Check  the  fuel  tank  empty  or  not,We  recommended  use  93  #  
unleaded  gasoline,  can  not  use  the  Petrol  /Engine  mixing  oil,  
not  dust,  dirt  and  water  to  is  not  allowed  to  be  got  into  the  
tank.

•  4)  Move  forward  the  control  handle  of  throXle

•  5)  Gently  Pull  starter  handle  unEl  you  feel  strong,  
then  quickly  pull  the  rope  to  start  the  engine.  

Note:While  pulling  the  rope,firstly  pulled  out  the  rope  slowly  unEl  feeling  the  
resistance  and  then  quickly  pull  in  order  to  protect  the  starter  ratchet.  
 

Please  don’t  let  go  the  rope  suddenly,or  it  will  hit  the  engine,the  rope  should  be  let  go  
according  to  the  bounce  of  starter  rope  itself.

engine  is  warming  up.

•  2)  Turn  the  throXle  control  handle  in  the  maximum  
posiEon.  
•  3)  By  operaEng  the  handle  to  guide  plate  compactor  
to  move  forward  (backward),the  compacEng  effects  
will  be  good  while  plate  compactor  working  in  a  
balanced  state,don’t  lia  the  operaEng  handle,  by  
operaEng  the  throXle  control  lever  to  achieve  
variable  engine  speed.  Movement  direcEons  can  be  
changed  by  controlling  the  hydraulic  handle,to  
enable  plate  compactor  have  three  types  of  
compacEon-­‐forward,backword  and  in-­‐site.

•  4)  While  working  on  surface  compacEon  (slopes,  dams,  etc.)  should  
observe  the  following  points:  
•  1.CompacEon  work  should  start  from  the  boXom  up  (man-­‐made  slopes  
compacted  up  works  like  this,  also  can  be  compacted  down).  
•  2.The  operator  standing  on  the  below  posiEon  of  slope  is  strictly  
prohibited.  
•  3.Maximum  angle  of  inclinaEon  can  not  more  than  20°.

•  Ground  condiEons:  
                     Maximum  compacEon  depth  depends  on  
several  factors  associated  with  ground,  such  
as  humidity,  parEcle  size  distribuEon.  
Therefore,  it  can  not  provide  an  accurate  
value.    
•  RecommendaEon:  To  determine  the  
maximum  compacEon  depth  in  accordance  
with  compacEon  tests  and  soil  samples.

 The  use  of  plate  compactor:  
•  Warning:    
•  Aaer  engine  start  and  warm-­‐up,  do  not  turn  the  throXle  grip  too  slow,  and  
even  put  throXle  grip  in  the  middle  posiEon  for  a  long  Eme.  At  this  stage,  
the  plate  compactor  vibrates  irregularly,  and  the  clutch  is  in  a  half-­‐clutch  
state,  which  will  reduce  the  life  of  clutch  and  cause  damage  to  the  engine.    
•  Uneven  surface  may  cause  the  plate  compactor  overturned.  Please  pay  
aXenEon  when  operate  the  machine,  in  order  to  avoid  spraining  
operator’s  wrist  or  injury  to  other  part  of  body.  
•  Operator  must  hold  the  handrail  when  operates  machine.  
•  Operator  must  stop  engine  before  leave  the  machine.  
•  If  slope  exceeds  Maximum  gradient(20°),  it  will  cause  the  engine  
lubricaEng  system  not  work,  and  it  will  cause  damages  to  important  
engine  parts.

 Shutdown  
•  Please  turn  off  engine  switch  directly  in  emergency.    
•  Under  normal  circumstances,  the  following  steps  to  shut  
down:  
•  Move  the  throXle  handle  backward  to  the  end.  
•  Put  engine  switch  in  the  OFF  (OFF)  posiEon.  
•  Put  the  fuel  valve  in  the  OFF  (OFF)  posiEon.  

•  Warning:    
•  Do  not  stop  engine  immediately  when  machine  is  working  
with  high  speed  work.  Otherwise,  it  may  cause  the  lubricant  
deteriorated,  or  make  engine  parts  killed  each  other  because  
of  a  sudden  increase  in  engine  temperature.

 InspecEon  and  Maintenance  
•  Please  use  the  original  parts  from  Tekpac  Engineering  Co.,  Ltd.  
It  should  ask  for  the  permission  of  Tekpac,  before  you  want  to  
change  machine,  or  adjust  the  maximum  speed  of  engine.  
Otherwise,  Tekpac  will  not  be  responsible  for  the  subsequent  
result  caused  by  it.      
•  It  should  turn  off  all  of  the  drive  unit  in  maintenance,  unless  
otherwise  requirement  of  engine  running  in  maintenance  or  
repair.      
•  Oil  pressure  should  be  relieved  before  the  maintenance  of  the  
hydraulic  pipe.  Warning:  It  should  be  very  careful  when  
remove  the  hydraulic  lines,  because  the  oil  temperature  can  
be  very  high  (up  to  1000°).  It  should  avoid  oil  spraying  into  the  
eyes  of  the  operator.  
•  All  safety  devices  should  be  immediately  re-­‐installed  
correctly,  aaer  maintenance  and  repair  work  is  completed.

•  2.  Replace  the  engine  oil.

to  ensure  oil  draining  quickly  and  completely.

•  Install  and  Eghten  the  pipe.    
•  Fill  the  oil  and  check  the  oil  level  to  meet  the  requirements.

•  Warning:  
•  Cancer  risk  exists,  if  skin  frequent  exposure  to  oil.  Please  wash  
with  soap  aaer  touch  with  oil.    
•  Oil  should  be  filled  into  a  container  when  draining.  Do  not  
spill  the  oil  in  order  to  avoid  polluEon.

•  3、Air filter maintenance

•  A dirty air filter may limit air into the carburetor. To avoid
carburetor malfunction, the air filter should be maintained
regularly. If the engine is running in dusty place, it needs more
maintenance.

•  After unscrew the butterfly nut and open the air filter housing,
take out the filter and check carefully whether the filter is
damaged Please replace it If damaged.

•  Foam filter: Clean it with a solution of household detergent and

warm water, and then rinse thoroughly. Or clean it with a non-
flammable solvent, and also can clean it with high flash point
solvent. Dry the filter. Immerse the foam filter into clean engine
oil, and then squeeze the oil from it. If there is too much oil
left in the foam, the engine will smoke at the start-up state.

•  Paper filter: Tap the paper filter on a firm ground to remove dust
accumulated on it. Or use high-pressure air blowing from the
inside to the outside. Never use a brush to remove dust. The dust
will be extruded into fibers when brush dust. Please replace the
paper filter, If it is very dirty.

•  Re-install the air filter.

Warning:  
•  Do  not  use  gasoline  or  low  flash  point  solvents  
to  clean  the  air  filter,  otherwise,  it  may  cause  
a  fire  or  explosion.  
•  It’s  forbidden  to  use  plate  compactor  without  
air  filter.  Otherwise  it  will  seriously  damage  
the  engine.

•  4、Oil  precipitaEon  cup  

• 

•  Close  the  fuel  valve,  remove  the  precipitaEon  cup  and  O-­‐ring,  and  
with  non-­‐combusEble  or  high  point  solvents  such  as  cleaning  agent,  to  dry  
completely  installed  and  Eghten.  And  then  open  the  throXle  switch  checks  
the  seal  is  good.  
 

Warning:  
Smoking  and  fire  source  is  forbidden  when  clean,  because  gasoline  is  
flammable  and  explosive  materials.  .  
Check  whether  the  seal  is  good  aaer  the  oil  precipitaEon  cup  is  re-­‐installed.  
Do  not  start  engine  unEl  ensure  no  leakage.

•  Plate  compactor  should  be  maintained  and  inspected  regularly  
•  Spark  Plug  Maintenance  
•  Remove  the  spark  plug  cover,  unscrew  the  spark  plug  with  the  socket  wrench.  
•  Spark  plug  should  be  replaced  if  the  spark  plug  is  corroded  by  electricity  or  insulaEon  
part  is  broken.  
•  Please  clean  it  with  metal  brush,  if  excessive  carbon  deposits  is  found,  and  then  re-­‐install  
it.    
•  Check  the  spark  plug  gap  with  a  feeler,  and  adjust  gap  within  the  normal  size  :0.7-­‐0.8  
mm.  
•  Check  whether  the  spark  plug  gasket  is  damaged.    
•  Screw  spark  plug  with  hand  firstly,  in  order  to  avoid  arbitrary  buckle.  Then  Eghten  it  with  
a  wrench.  
•  Warning:  
•  Do  not  to  use  the  incorrect  igniEon  spark  plug.  
•  To  ensure  that  the  engine  work  properly,  the  spark  plug  must  have  a  certain  gap,  and  
any  foreign  body  can  not  be  in  it.  
•  If  the  engine  has  just  shut  down,  the  temperature  of  exhaust  pipe  is  very  high.  Please  
maintain  it  aaer  cooling.  
•  Spark  plug  must  be  Eghtened,  otherwise  it  will  damage  the  engine.

•  6  Spark  Arrester  Maintenance   •  Remark:  

•  Remove  the  two  8  mm  screws①,  then   •  The  muffler  is  very  hot,  if  
remove  the  muffler  from  the  cylinder.   the  engine  is  just  
•  Remove  the  three  4mm  screw②  from   running.  Please  maintain  
the  exhaust  guide  tube  ③,  and  then   it  aaer  cooling.    The

spark  arrester,  and  then  remove  the  
spark  arrester  from  the  muffler  ⑧.  
•  Brush  carbon  deposits  from  the  spark  
arrester  grille.  (Be  careful  not  to  
damage  the  grille)  
•  Re-­‐install  the  spark  arrester  grille.

•  7.  Adjust  V  -­‐  belt  
•  Remove  the  belt  guard.  
•  Replace  the  V-­‐belt.  
•  Suitable  tension  of  the  belt  can  be  judged  
through  experience.  When  fingers  press  the  
belt,  it  is  suitable  if  the  displacement  is  around  
a  belt  thickness  (12mm).    
•  Re-­‐install  engine  mount  and  belt  cover.

•  8.  Lubricant  ExaminaEon:  
•  A  Exciter  
•  Check  the  exciter  oil  leaks  every  day.    
•  Check  the  oil  level  every  150  hours  if  the  oil  level  is  low,  you  
need  to  add.  
•  Replace  the  exciter  oil  every  250  hours.  

•  B  Control  Rod  ExaminaEon:  

•  Lubricate  movable  locking  device  and  rod  height  adjusEng  
shaa  every  week.    
•  Check  the  oil  level  every  month.  Fill  the  oil  if  need.  
•  Change  the  oil  every  250  hours.

 Plate  compactor  transportaEon  
•  1.  Short-­‐distance  transportaEon:  Fuel  switch  must  be  turned  
off,  and  ensure  that  the  engine  is  in  a  horizontal  posiEon,  in

equipment.  
•  Keep  machine  stable  in  the  car  when  transport.  
•  Liaing  point  must  not  be  located  in  the  handle.

•  Remark:  If  engine  oil  is  not  drained  
completely,  the  inclinaEon  of  machine  can  not  
be  more  than  30  degrees,  nor  can  make  
machine  lying.  Otherwise,  the  oil  may  enter  
the  cylinder,  carburetor  and  air  filter,  and  
cause  the  engine  not  working  properly.

 Storage  
•  1  Drain  gasoline  completely  from  the  tank  before  storage.  The  storage  place  must  
be  dry  and  clean.  
•  2  Close  the  throXle,  and  then  open  oil  precipitaEon  cup.  
•  3  Open  the  throXle,  make  the  gasoline  go  into  the  prepared  container.  
•  4  Drain  gasoline  completely,  and  then  re-­‐Eghten  oil  precipitaEon  cup.  
•  5  Remove  the  spark  plug,  and  put  a  tablespoon  of  oil  into  the  cylinder  inside,  then  
pull  starter  rope  gently  several  Emes,  to  make  oil  equal  distribuEon.  Install  the  
spark  plug.  
•  6  Pull  starter  rope  unEl  you  feel  resistance,  then  close  the  valve,  in  order  to  
prevent  dust  and  rust.  ConEnue  pulling  unEl  the  arrow  on  the  starter  aims  the  
hole  on  the  recoil  starter,  at  this  Eme  the  exhaust  valve  is  closed,  which  helps  to  
prevent  rust  inside  the  engine.  
•  7  Cover  the  machine  in  order  to  prevent  dust.
