Upon further investigation the Vermilion County State’s Attorney contacted the United States Attomey’s Office to notify their office of the information discovered. ‘The Vermilion County State’s Attorney's Office is fully cooperating with the joint investigation of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Illinois State Police. No person is above the law including any employee of the Vermilion County State’s Attomey’s Office. The target employee of the investigation has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending further investigation. To ensure the integrity of the prosecutions by the Vermilion County State’s Attomey’s Office all cases involving this employee will be reviewed to ensure that all proper procedures and laws were followed. The case is being investigated by the Illinois State Police, Zone 5, and the FBI.
