My reflection on the movie God’s Not Dead focuses on the protagonist Josh Wheaton and his professor
Jeffrey Radisson. I left out and did not mention other characters as they did not really affect me much
in any way as much as the said characters have.

God’s Not Dead is a christian movie that focuses on belief in God. Personally I think belief in God is a
choice, a decision that has such a huge impact on a person’s life. Throughout the movie it is seen that
the protagonist Josh tries to prove to his professor Jeffrey Radisson that God exists and makes
compelling arguments by showing his evidence that relates God to the creation of the universe and
macro-evolution. This action by Josh inspires and encourages me to take a stand and fight for what I
think is right despite what other people say or think about the cause that I stand for.

Earlier today I had an argument with another person, and I dropped a lot of bombs on him just to try to
nail my point on the wall and win, something that I truly regret doing. The way Josh tried to prove to
Radisson that God exists showed me that no matter how much glory is at the stake on winning an
argument, we must always remember to always be respectful and do it with the right attitude. After
watching the movie, I wrote an apology to the person who I fought with, and after that moment I
realized how much this movie affected me no matter how much problem I found within it.

I myself is troubled with religion, on whom should I believe into, I believe that there is a God and he is
the one who made my life possible, but I still have doubts about Jesus because of what I’ve seen on
what humanity can do, its easy to write about something and make it the reality. As the movie comes to
an end, Radisson and a couple of other characters turns into christianity which is a common cliché in
christian movies. Though the movie has made a lot of points on its arguments about Jesus, it did not fill
the questions that I have regarding him. Although I must say that the movie has lifted my spirits in
some way, how can I say? I can’t, I just feel it.

God’s Not Dead 2 a follow-up to the first movie with the same name released in 2014. To be fair and
honest this movie is more mediocre than the first one and it bored me to almost an early ticket to
heaven.

In the movie we see the protagonist Grace Weasley defend herself against the violation of the
separation of church and state, it all began when one of her students did not like her lecture and wrote a
text to his parents which caused a backlash on her. Grace is then summoned before the school’s
administrative board and a told her that a legal action will be taken against her. Grace was offered that
if she writes an apology she will not be terminated and her license will not be stripped, but she refused.
As I wrote in my reflection of the first movie, this action by the protagonist inspires and encourages me
to take a stand and fight for what I think is right, despite what other people say or think about the cause
that I stand for.

As the story progresses, Martin Yip is then visited by his father who is angry because of Martin’s belief
in God, but the faithful Martin did not yield and refused to renounce God, an action that made his
father disown him. Sometimes when I get bored I ask myself questions and I answer to them, I once
asked myself, “If I get captured by a terrorist, and asked me to renounce my faith in God so that I could
live, will I do it?”, My answer to my own question, “No because it is a ticket to redemption, to die just
because you refused to deny God is the greatest feat you could ever possibly do.”

There is really not much where I can relate myself in the movie because I am not a very religious
person.
