This History of the DC Universe is a "post-Crisis"/"post-Zero Hour"

history which concentrates heavily on reconciling errors created, in

part, from ill-conceived retcons. Although the timeline given in Zero
Hour #0 established the debut of Superman and Batman at 10 years prior
to the Crisis in Time, it was so filled with mistakes and was so
overly-compressed that I have chosen a more comfortable 13 year
period. Even though this makes both Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne 38
years old, I feel that, given their significance as the first heroes
of the Silver Age, this is not unreasonable. Given the fact that it is
not uncommon today for hard-working professionals to wait until their
late 30's to marry, and given that it has been established that Lois
Lane joined the Planet at a very young age and is thus probably a few
years younger than Clark, these ages are quite believable. Remember,
both Hal Jordan and Oliver Queen are known to be in their 40's. To be
honest, I never understood DC's obsession with keeping Superman at 29
years of age! One of the purposes of Zero Hour was to reconcile the
differences in the timelines set up in DC's various titles. It's hard
to believe that, just prior to Zero Hour, Superman's debut was set a
mere 8 years in the past!! That number totally contradicted just about
every other series that DC published (Batman, New Titans, Justice
League, et al). Actually, if I were true to the facts given in
"Batman: Year Three", Batman's debut would be set 14 years prior to
Zero Hour. I feel that 13 years is a reasonable period and I am basing
this history on that number. In very few instances I needed to
postulate about certain events. These conjectures are so noted.
Before beginning the DC history feature, I wanted to take a few
moments to list some of the more glaring mistakes presented in the
much vaunted timeline that was presented in ZERO HOUR #0. Some of the
errors: (1) the Manhunters were not created 3 billion years ago ...
that's when they rebelled, (2) Vandal Savage was not born 100,000
years ago ... it was 50,000, (3) Atlantis did not sink 50,000 years
ago ... the number 45,000 appears in almost every Arion story, (4)
J'Onn J'Onzz appeared in 1955 not "35 years ago" ... the whole reason
he wasn't "attached" to the modern era of heroes in the first place
was because of the 1950's Martians craze, (5) Captain Comet appeared
in 1951 not "30 years ago" ... the fact that he appeared the same year
that the JSA disbanded is significant, and the worst of all (6)
Professor Zoom is not from 2456 and Booster Gold is not from 2458 ...
where did these dates come from ?!? ... Professor Zoom began in 2460
(see FLASH [second series] #79) and Booster Gold began in 2462 (see
just about every Booster Gold appearance!!). Well, you get the idea.
Here's the real DC timeline ...
Oh, one more thing. As I noted above, this is a work in progress. In
order to get this revision of issue #2 out in a timely manner, I
rushed the details on the 20th century. I am well aware that some of
the information might be slightly out of order. I assure you that all
will be corrected over the next six months and that the final version
will be accurate.
THE HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE
prior to the Creation The Anti-Monitor, a creature from a previous
reality, attempts to control the formation of the new, unified
Universe. He is defeated by time-traveling super-heroes from that
previous reality.
in the beginning The Universe bursts into existence. The
time-travelling Spectre finally succeeds in defeating Shathan.
Destiny, the first of the Endless, forms. His sister, Death, follows
closely afterward. Eventually, other members of the Endless come into
being. Entities known as the Aurakles also come into being at this
time.
c. 10 billion B.C. The planet Maltus forms. From 6 billion years in
the future, Krona alters history and unleashes great evil upon the
Universe. The Anti-Matter Universe is formed. One-third of the angels
of Heaven, led by Lucifer, rebel against God; all are cast into Hell.
A number of the fallen angels evolve into the Lords of Order and
Chaos. Asgaard, the world of the Old Gods, is formed.
c. 7.5 billion B.C. The Dark Circle forms.
c. 5 billion B.C. The people of Maltus near perfection.
c. 4.6 billion B.C. The planet Earth forms.
c. 4 billion B.C. On Maltus, Krona attempts to observe the origin of
the Universe and alters history retroactively back to 10 billion B.C..
c. 3.5 billion B.C. Advanced beings from Maltus establish a base on
the planet Oa, which exists in the Central Cluster, and begin their
role as the Guardians of the Universe. Magic is gathered from
throughout the Universe and displaced as the Starheart. The Guardians
of the Universe purge themselves of their baser tendencies and store
their dark nature within a sphere of energy. The Central Battery of Oa
is created. The Guardians create the Psions. The Guardians create the
android Manhunters to protect the emerging races of the Universe.
c. 3.5 billion B.C. Single-cell life-forms appear in the oceans of
Earth.
c. 3.3 billion B.C. The time-lost 20th century Swamp Thing establishes
the Green.
c. 3 billion B.C. A thousand year war is fought between the Guardians
of the Universe and the Manhunters. The Manhunters are banished. A
faction of Guardians leave Oa to become the Controllers. The women of
Oa begin to become dissatisfied. The Guardians run test cases on a
pre-Green Lantern Corps. The Guardians form their Green Lantern Corps,
a group of 3600 sentient beings, each assigned to protecting a
specific sector of the known Universe.
c. 2.5 billion B.C. The women of Oa leave to found the planet of
Zamaron.
c. 1 billion B.C. The Guardians vow never to harm either the Zamarons
or the Korugarians.
c. 1 billion B.C. Beings known as the Timeless Ones banish three
demons named Abnegazar, Rath, and Ghast into the Earth. The demons
leave behind three talismans.
c. 200,000,000 B.C. The dinosaurs begin their reign on Earth.
c. 200,000,000 B.C. Chronos, a time-traveler from the late 20th
century, is trapped in the past. He enters suspended animation.
"Age of the Dinosaurs" The time-traveling 20th century Corky Baxter
(one of Rip Hunter's team members) is killed by a dinosaur.
"Age of the Dinosaurs" The time-lost 20th century Captain Atom and
Hawk-Monarch do battle here.
"Age of the Dinosaurs" A group of heroes are sent by Waverider to stop
the rise of Abraxis.
c. 120,000,000 B.C. The first mammals appear on Earth.
c. 100,000,000 B.C. A time-lost 20th century Superman spends six weeks
in this time period then meets Chronos, who has temporarily awakened
from suspended animation.
c. 70,000,000 B.C. An alien race known as the Hunter/Gatherers come to
Earth and hunt the remaining dinosaurs to extinction.
c. 3,700,000 B.C. Early pre-humans appear in Africa.
c. 1,000,000 B.C. Imsk, a planet around the star Irulan, is colonized
by the Krill.
c. 1,000,000 B.C. From a million years in the future, the Time Trapper
steals a slice of time to create the Pocket Universe.
c. 1,000,000 B.C. The continent of Lemuria is destroyed.
c. 500,000 B.C. The H'v'ler'n race arrives on Earth and establishes
the city-state of A'r'ven. A thousand years later, the H'v'ler'ni
leave Earth. The time-lost 20th century Superman is present at that
time.
c. 250,000 B.C. The earliest Homo Sapiens appear in Europe, Asia, and
Africa.
c. 245,000 B.C. Doomsday escapes from the planet Krypton. During the
course of a year he encounters young Darkseid, the Khunds, the Green
Lantern Corps, and the Oans. Doomsday is finally imprisoned.
c. 200,000 B.C. During Krypton's 5th historic epoch, the Cleric
arrives and condemns the cloning techniques used by the natives. The
Science Council direct Kem-L, an ancestor of Superman, to build the
Eradicator to kill the Cleric. Although the Cleric agrees to leave the
planet peacefully, the Council attacks ... but the Eradicator sides
with the Cleric. The Cleric takes 100,000 Kryptonian followers and the
Eradicator aboard his great ark and leave the planet. The Kryptonian
passengers all die. The Cleric learns that they were someone linked to
their planet (he was unaware that it was the fault of the Eradicator).
c. 150,000 B.C. A more advanced sub-species of man, Homo Sapiens Magi,
establishes the Atlantean civilization.
c. 145,000 B.C. Calculha and Dark Majistra give birth to Ahri'Ahn and
Garn Daanuth. Later, to stop Majistra and Garn from causing Atlantis'
destruction, Ahri'Ahn sacrifices himself. Calculha transforms
Ahri'Ahn's soul into energy.
c. 100,000 B.C. Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis (Neanderthal Man)
evolves.
c. 100,000 B.C. During Krypton's 6th historic epoch, the terrorist
group called the Black Zeros initiate wars by triggering a nuclear
device. This device begins a chain reaction that will eventually
destroy the planet.
c. 50,000 B.C. The time-traveling Rip Hunter kills Vandar Adg (father
to Vandar Adg II, later Vandal Savage). The radiation from a glowing
meteor makes two prehistoric men, Vandar Adg II and an unnamed
adversary, immortal (they later would call themselves Vandal Savage
and Immortal Man). These two "pre-Cro-Magnon" immortals become eternal
enemies. Another prehistoric man becomes the first to receive powers
from the Hawk Avatar. Vandar Adg II kills this hawk-man and becomes an
enemy to the hawk-men who would reappear approximately every hundred
years.
c. 50,000 B.C. The time-lost 20th century hero named the Star-Spangled
Kid hides for a few weeks from a tribe of prehistoric men. He is
rescued by Aquaman, Wildcat, and the second Green Lantern.
45,000 B.C. In order to stop his evil son Garn Daanuth from destroying
Atlantis, Calculha resurrects Ahri'Ahn as Arion. Years later,
Atlantis' City of the Golden Gate is destroyed... Arion sends out six
expeditions. Arion establishes a new home. Another founds New Atlantis
in Skartaris. Years after, time-traveling Rip Hunter, Jeff Smith, and
Cave Carson visit Arion and learn of the arrival of [Vandal] Savage
and the creation of the Brotherhood of Light (later the Illuminati) a
few hundred years earlier. Soon after, Arion sends his 2-year-old
granddaughter Kara to the 20th century. Garn Daanuth places himself in
suspended animation.
c. 40,000 B.C. On an ancient world named Asgaard, located in the far
reaches of space, the Old Gods fight their final battle. The Old Gods
perish in a cataclysm which splits their world in two and cuts off
that sector of space from the rest of the Universe. From the two
molten spheres form two new worlds. The first, New Genesis, is a world
of light imbued with the living atoms of the god Balduur. The second,
Apokolips, is a world of darkness imbued with the essence of an evil
sorceress. On those two worlds evolve the New Gods. Energy from this
event travels instantaneously through space to all parts of the
universe. On Earth, the energy results in the creation of many
pantheons including the Greek, Roman, and Norse gods.
c. 30,000 B.C. Homo Sapiens Sapiens (Modern Man) evolves. Cro-Magnon
Man is one of the first to appear. A blonde-haired boy named Anthro is
believed to be the first of the Cro-Magnon. Neanderthal Man disappears
at this time.
c. 10,000 B.C. Modern civilization begins on Earth.
c. 9600 B.C. The Atlantean King Orin rules Poseidonis (built on the
ruins of the City of the Golden Gate). Albart of Ancinor becomes the
first official keeper of the Atlantis Chronicles. In order to protect
Atlantis from local savages, King Orin orders that a dome be built
over Poseidonis. Later, a large meteor crashes near Atlantis and sinks
the continent. A year later, the renegade Shalako takes followers
through the tunnels to colonize Tritonis. He uses his magic to form a
dome over that city. King Orin sends troops out to the surface world,
none return (some reach Egypt). King Orin's scientists develop a serum
which allows humans to breathe underwater. When Orin offers the serum
to the Tritonians, Shalako corrupts it with his magic and the
Tritonians develop fish legs. The offspring are born with a tail
instead of legs.
c. ? B.C. The Idylists leave Atlantis.
c. 5,000 B.C. Felix Faust attempts to steal the Flame of Life from
Nommo of the African empire of Kor (later Dr. Mist). Nommo imprisons
Faust in another dimension. Nommo absorbs the Flame into himself and
becomes immortal.
c. 5,000 B.C. Nabu, a Lord of Order, takes on human form for the next
4000 years.
c. 5,000-4,000 B.C. The native humanoids of the planet Rimbor become
extinct.
c. ? B.C. Noah survives the Great Flood. Eclipso banished to the Moon;
the Spectre is chosen to replace him as the Angel of Vengeance. The
Heart of Darkness is created.
c. ? B.C. The Olympian gods battle the Titans.
c. ? B.C. The mortal known only as Atlas battles evil.
c. 3,000 B.C. A race of bird-people inspire the Egyptians to create
their mythology. These bird-people leave to establish Feithera.
c. ? B.C. In Canaan, a young boy named Jebediah becomes the Champion
(later, the wizard Shazam).
c. ? B.C. The Champion fathers Blaze and Lord Satanus.
c. ? B.C. With the help of the gods, the Champion traps the three
faces of Evil (Terror, Sin, and Wickedness) and, in the process,
creates the Rock of Eternity.
c. 3,000 B.C. Nabu aligns himself with the rulers of Egypt.
c. ? B.C. Orb of Ra is wielded by the Egyptians. Metamorpho briefly
time-travels from the late 20th century to here.
c. 2700 B.C. Vandal Savage is a king in ancient Sumer.
26th century B.C. In Egypt, the time-lost 20th century hero named
Stripsey is forced into slavery for a few weeks before he is rescued
by Batman, Starman, and Hourman.
c. 2580 B.C. Vandal Savage and Kulak both pose as Cheops (Khufu),
ruler of Egypt.
2578 B.C. In Egypt, Nabu and the time-traveling Bonnie Baxter (one of
Rip Hunter's team members) defeat Vandal Savage (now posing as
Khafre). The Blue Beetle scarab is created.
c. ? B.C. The true Khafre is entombed.
c. ? B.C. Queen Evilla rules Egypt.
2,030 B.C. The evil priest Khalis is given the Amulet of Anubis by the
Egyptian god Anubis himself. In the following months he forces slaves
to build pyramids in homage to Anubis.
c. 2,025 B.C Nabu arrives in Egypt, fights and defeats the evil priest
Khalis, and takes the Amulet of Anubis from him. The slaves mummify
Khlais alive. Anubis casts a spell which makes Khalis immortal until
such a time as he retrieves the Amulet.
c. 2000 B.C. During the 12th dynasty, Egyptian Prince Amentep acquires
the Ibistick and becomes Ibis the Invincible. He and his wife Taia
later place themselves into suspended animation.
c. 2000 B.C. The ancient Egyptians establish the sub-atomic world of
Ra.
c. 2000 B.C. Nommo creates the Stones of Life and gives them to a
group of Homo Magi.
c. 2000 B.C. The 30th century Jo Nah becomes lost in time; he is aided
and sent home by Nabu. Nabu is a "servant" of Amen-em-het at this
time.
c. 1900 B.C. The Spectre destroys Sodom and Gomorrah.
1567 B.C. In Egypt, Prince Khufu-Maat-Kha-Tar, the first Hawk
Champion, dies.
c. 14th century B.C. The aged wizard Shazam aligns himself with the
Pharaohs of Egypt.
c. 1290 B.C. Ramesses II assumes the throne of Egypt. Shazam turns
Teth-Adam into Mighty Adam. Shazam's daughter Blaze and the evil
Egyptian god Set secretly steal powers from the Egyptian gods and
replace the ones intended by Shazam.
c. 1260 B.C. Mighty Adam arranges major peace treaty with Hittites.
c. 1230 B.C. The Spectre casts the plagues of Moses on Egypt. Nabu,
the wizard of Pharaoh, battles the Spectre but loses. Moses leads the
Jews on an exodus out of Egypt.
c. ? B.C. In Sumeria, Nabu enters suspended animation until the early
20th century.
c. 1225 B.C. When Ramesses II dies, Shazam leaves Egypt; Mighty Adam
carries on.
c. 1225 B.C. Blaze convinces Mighty Adam to replace the new Pharaoh.
Shazam returns, removes Adam's powers, and entombs the withered
traitor (renamed Khem-Adam) at Abu Simbel. Merenptah is made Pharaoh.
c. 1200 B.C. The Amazons are formed (approximately 2,500 in number).
c. 1200 B.C. The Trojan War is fought.
c. 1200 B.C. A group of Atlanteans attack Egypt.
c. ? B.C. The time-lost 20th century sidekick to the Shining Knight
named the Squire is transformed by Circe into a centaur for a few
weeks before he is cured and rescued by the second Flash, Zatanna, and
the Red Tornado.
c. 925 B.C. The wizard called Shazam begins gathering the powers which
he will later bestow upon another. He begins his quest with King
Solomon.
331 B.C. Per Degaton travels from 1947 A.D. and alters the outcome of
the battle between Alexander the Great and Darius. The JSA follow him
from 1947 A.D. and undo the damage he has caused. All are returned to
1947 A.D..
c. 225 B.C. When a group of Druids find themselves overrun by Roman
soldiers, one of their number, Blackbriar Thorn, transforms himself to
wood in order to hide. He ends up being buried in the Earth during the
fierce battle and remains trapped there for 2200 years.
c. 210 B.C. A small band of Durlans pose as Greek gods on Earth. The
30th century Legionnaires travel in time and end up chasing the
Durlans off Earth. Soon after, a nuclear war devastates the planet
Durla.
mid 1st century B.C. Vandal Savage poses as Julius Caesar.
c. 1st century B.C.? The Starheart falls in Tibet.
c. 7-4 B.C. Jesus is born in Judaea. It is decreed that beings such as
the Spectre may no longer walk the Earth unless in concert with a
human soul. The Spectre is driven into limbo.
64 A.D. The time-lost 20th century Captain Atom is present when Rome
burns.
5th century A.D. The Guardians of the Universe imprison the Djinn.
525 A.D. Dionysius Exiguus creates the A.D. calendar based on the
birth of Christ however his calculations cause an error of from 4 to 7
years.
mid 6th century A.D. The era of King Arthur, Camelot, Merlin, and the
Shining Knight. The Shining Knight enters suspended animation and
awakens in the 20th century; he eventually returns home. The Hawk
Avatar causes a hawk to lead Brian of Greystone to a suit of knight's
armor, leading to the creation of the Silent Knight. Vandal Savage
masquerades briefly as Merlin. The JSA travel to Camelot and the
future. The time-lost 20th century Swamp Thing is present during a
terrible battle in Camelot.
560 A.D. Camelot falls. Etrigan the Demon is released and bound to a
man named Iason. The time-lost 20th century Superman is present at the
fall of Camelot.
725 A.D. The monk Bede continues Dionysius Exiguus' work and through
his efforts the A.D. calendar is disseminated throughout Western
Europe.
8th century A.D. Loki, the Norse god of mischief, is bound until late
the 20th century.
late 8th century A.D. After the slaughter of his people, one of the
last Quontauka Indians, Bright-Sky-After-Storm, son of the thunder god
He-No, travels the world. Vikings rename him Arak Red-Hand.
c. 10th century A.D. The time-lost 20th century gunslinger named the
Vigilante defends himself against American Indians for a few weeks
before he is rescued by Green Arrow, the second Black Canary, and
Johnny Thunder.
10th century A.D. Prince Jon, the Viking Prince, is driven from his
throne. Some years later, the Viking Prince finds a time-warp to the
WWII era.
980 A.D. The time-traveling 20th century Antonia (one of Rip Hunter's
team members) meets the Viking Prince.
11th century A.D. In Persia, Vandal Savage's secret organization,
formed in ancient Atlantis, takes the name "the Illuminati".
1066 A.D. The Manhunters come to Earth.
12th century A.D. The valkyrie Fey takes the Viking Valoric before he
is truly dead; Odin causes a cosmic storm which sends them both to
WWII where they will remain until Valoric truly dies in battle.
1162 A.D. Using a spell of Tempus Fugit, the 20th century Etrigan
sends Superman back in time to alter history with the aid of Etrigan's
1162 self.
late 12th century A.D. In England, Robert Fitzooth, Earl of
Huntingdon, becomes the outlaw Robin Hood. He and his men hide in
Sherwood Forest, stealing from the corrupt rich and giving their
spoils to the downtrodden poor. The time-lost 20th century archer
named the Spider poses as Robin Hood for a few weeks before he is
rescued by the golden age Hawkman, Dr. Mid-Nite, and Miss America.
1199 A.D. Etrigan the Demon prevents Jason Blood from remembering the
Demon's deeds.
early 13th century A.D. In 1202 A.D., the Church of Brother Blood is
established.
13th century A.D. Vandal Savage becomes Genghis Kahn. In China, the
time-lost 20th century hero named the Shining Knight loses his memory
and serves under Gengis Khan for a few weeks before he is rescued by
the Superman, the golden age Sandman, and Metamorpho.
13th century A.D. The Archangel of War, Karrien Excalibris, leaves
Heaven and enters self-exile for the next 700 years.
1477 A.D. Vlad the Impaler is rumored to have died in exile; he
continues his reign of terror as Count Dracula, Lord of the Undead.
14th century A.D. Worshippers of St. Dumas establish the Order of
Azrael.
c. 15th century A.D. In Mexico, the time-lost 20th century hero named
the Crimson Avenger loses his memory and, for a few weeks, is
convinced he is the Aztec war god Huitzilopochtli. He is cured and
rescued by Dr. Fate, the second Atom, and the Elongated Man.
15th century A.D. The time pool device is tossed here (in France) from
the late 20th century by the Atom. When Chronos attempts to reach
through the time pool to retrieve the device, it falls and breaks,
closing the portal and severing Chronos' arm.
Oct 12, 1492 A.D. Columbus lands at San Salvador.
late 15th century A.D. The Spider-Cult first spreads its evil into the
Vegan star-system.
early 16th century A.D. The latest Hawk Champion is slain by the
Borgias, his patrons, after only a year. Cesare Borgia feared he would
shake his father from the papel throne and take his place. The Hawk
Champion was killed by Cesare with the help of his trained ape
Leonardo.
16th century A.D. Andrew Bennett becomes a vampire.
16th century A.D. Jon Valor becomes the Black Pirate.
c. ? A.D. Gemworld is established.
late 16th century A.D. The island of Marzal is colonized by escaped
slaves. The island then fades into another dimension. Once every 200
years, for 30 year periods, the island returns to the Earth dimension
(circa 1570-1600).
17th century A.D. A group of French men mate with female elementals.
1700 A.D. Keith Everet, the Earl of Strethmore is killed.
early 18th century A.D. The race of shape-changers who inhabit Mars
die from plague. J'Onn J'Onzz is teleported through time and space to
Earth circa 1955 A.D..
18th century A.D. Fero, chief of the Carib Indians, becomes Captain
Fear.
mid 18th century A.D. The Society of the Golden Wing is formed.
18th century A.D. Once every 200 years, for 30 year periods, the
island of Marzal returns to the Earth dimension (circa 1770-1800).
1770 A.D. Rip Hunter's cousin, Dan Hunter, time-travels to 1770 A.D.
and inadvertently aids the Illuminati in killing George Washington and
replacing him with Adam Weishaupt of Bavaria, a look-alike. Dan
remains in the past and becomes partner to Tomahawk (he later dies a
horrible death).
1776 A.D. On July 4th, after signing the Declaration of Independence,
Ben Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson join with 10 others to
perform a mystical ceremony. Led by the alchemist Taylor Hawke, they
create the living spirit of the United States. Later that year, Taylor
Hawke is killed; the living spirit of America bonds with his soul to
form the Minuteman. The Minuteman is with Washington at Christmas when
he crosses the Delaware.
late 1770's A.D. Count Viper comes over to America at around this time
to fight in the American Revolution and discovers his psionic powers.
c. 1780 A.D. Keith Everet's ghost returns after 80 years.
c. 1781 A.D. The Minuteman fades away after Yorktown.
late 18th century A.D. The Pocket Universe Supergirl is sent back in
time from the late 20th century and lies in suspended animation for
the next 200 years.
1797 A.D. Dr. Victor Frankenstein creates a monster. After the death
of Dr. Frankenstein in September, the monster leaves civilization and
heads north, remaining alone until 1942 A.D..
1800 A.D. The time-lost 20th century Swamp Thing appears.
early 19th century A.D. The spirit of America merges with a human and
is reborn as Brother Jonathan. He is present in September of 1813
during the Battle of Lake Erie and rallies the troops of Andrew
Jackson in January of 1815 during the Battle of New Orleans.
1827 A.D. Arthur Gordon Pym finds the Dzyan.
1838 A.D. Ahwehota of the Blackfoot Clan gains the power of
super-speed. (Years later, Ahwehota Windrunner time-jumps to 1891
A.D.. He time-jumps a few times more and dons different identities. By
the late 20th century he uses the name Max Mercury.)
mid 19th century A.D. Gorilla City is established in Africa.
1851 A.D. Alicia Huston dies, leading to the creation of the earth
elemental Lady Jane.
c. 1861 A.D. The spirit of America is first sundered during the Civil
War; two brothers merge with the spirit to form Billy Yank and Johnny
Reb.
1864 A.D. General James Ewell Brown (J.E.B.) Stuart dies in battle

1908 A.D. On June 30, in central Siberia, a tremendous explosion
destroys many square miles of land. The time-travelling Spectre fails

Chikov, the girl who would later call herself Fireball, was present at

aviator Rittmeister Hans Von Hammer becomes famous as the Enemy Ace.
The American aviator Steven Savage, son of Brian Savage, becomes known
as the Balloon Buster.
1916 A.D. In June, Morpheus the Sandman, one of the Endless, is
captured and held prisoner for three-quarters of a century.
1917 A.D. On July 7th, Johnny Thunder is born. On August 1st, Etrigan
the Demon erases Jason Blood's memories of the past.
mid 1920s A.D. Dekan Drache frees Felix Faust from his prison. Faust
destroys the man's soul and inhabits his body.
c. ? A.D. From the year 2001 A.D. of an alternate timeline, Monarch
sends groups of his Team Titans back in time to kill Donna Troy, the
mother of the demonic Lord Chaos; A number of the Titans overshoot the
late 20th century and wind up here. Unaware that they are in an
alternate timeline, and noticing differences in historical events,
they incorrectly believe they have altered history.
1935 A.D. Dr. Occult and Rose Psychic, followers of the Seven, become
active mystics.
1938 A.D. After a few months of study, Zatara the magician begins his
career against crime. In June, Kryptonian scientist Jor-El sends the
gestation matrix of his unborn son into hyperspace towards Earth, a
world 50 light years distant. The planet Krypton explodes, killing all
its inhabitants. Prior to the planet's destruction, Manhunter agents
of Krypton, aware of the effects of a yellow sun on a Kryptonian,
contact their superiors regarding Jor-El's son. Lee Travis becomes the
Crimson Avenger.
1939 A.D. Hank Heywood becomes the original Steel. Wesley Dodds
becomes the golden age Sandman. Darrell Dane becomes the Doll Man. Jay
Garrick becomes the golden age Flash. Carter Hall, the reincarnation
of the Egyptian prince Khufu, becomes the golden age Hawkman. Johnny
Thunder discovers his Thunderbolt. Rex Tyler becomes the golden age
Hourman. The time-traveling 1990's Hawkman and Flash meet Carter Hall.
1940 A.D. Kent Nelson becomes the golden age Dr. Fate. Richard Grey
Jr. becomes the golden age Black Condor and assumes the identity of
the murdered senator Thomas Wright. The wizard Shazam follows the
Malcolm Expedition from Egypt to Fawcett City to watch over the body
of Prince Amentep. Shazam establishes his subway headquarters. In
February, the wizard Shazam awakens Prince Amentep from a 4000 year
sleep; Amentep becomes Ibis the Invincible. Officer Jim Corrigan is
killed and his soul is bound to the Spectre. Jim Corrigan meets Madame
Xanadu, a woman who gained immortality by cheating Death at a game of
cards. The Spectre first encounters Dr. Fate; the two mystical heroes
defeat Micah Cole, a madman who convinced the government to build the
Pentagon and sacrifice humans in order to raise the elder god
Koth-Shugoth. Alan Ladd Scott acquires a lantern made from the
Starheart and becomes the golden age Green Lantern. Aware of America'a
pending entry into World War II, the spirit of America bonds with a
human to form the third Uncle Sam. Al Pratt becomes the golden age
Atom. Ma Hunkle becomes the golden age Red Tornado. Ahwehota
Windrunner time-jumps to here and becomes the speedster named
Quicksilver. During the German blitz on London, Percy Sheldrake meets
the Shining Knight. Whenever the Shining Knight is in England, Percy
becomes his secret sidekick, the Squire. Dave Clark becomes the golden
age Midnight. Harry "Tex" Thompson becomes Mr. America. In November, a
group of heroes stop Adolph Hitler's planned use of the Spear of
Destiny to conquer Europe; the Justice Society of America is formed.
On Nov 22nd, the Justice Societyhas its first meeting. Ted Knight
becomes the golden age Starman. Dr. Charles McNider becomes Dr.
Mid-Nite.
1941 A.D. John Sargent becomes Sargon the Sorcerer. Sandra Knight
becomes the golden age Phantom Lady. Roy Lincoln becomes the Human
Bomb. Rod Reilly becomes the original golden age Firebrand. Janos
Prohaska becomes Blackhawk and forms the Blackhawks. Joan Dale becomes
Miss America. The Shining Knight awakens from suspended animation
after 14 centuries. Johnny Chambers becomes Johnny Quick. The team of
the Star-Spangled Kid and Stripsey is formed. John Law becomes the
Tarantula. Greg Saunders becomes the golden age Vigilante. Wes Dodds
dons a new Sandman costume and takes on partner Sandy Hawkins a.k.a.
Sandy the Golden Boy. Shiera Sanders becomes Hawkgirl. Terry Sloane
becomes Mr. Terrific. The ghost of Keith Everet emerges from a
painting after 150 years and inhabits the body of the murdered Charles
Collins; Everet becomes the Grim Ghost. The Star-Spangled Kid,
Stripsey, the Shining Knight, the Crimson Avenger, Wing, the
Vigilante, and Billy Gunn form the Seven Soldiers of Victory (a.k.a.
the Law's Legionnaires). Larry Jordan becomes the golden age Air Wave.
The Vigilante takes on partner Stuff the Chinatown Kid. Stuff replaces
Billy Gunn in the Seven Soldiers of Victory. Libby Lawrence becomes
Liberty Belle. Robert Crane becomes the golden age Robotman and
creates a new alias, Paul Dennis. Ted Grant becomes the golden age
Wildcat. In Dec, Per Degaton arrives from 1947 to alter history. The
time-lost 20th century 1990's Ray (and 1990's Black Canary) affect the
origin of the original Ray. Lanford "Happy" Terrill becomes the golden
age Ray. On Dec 7th, the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor. President
Roosevelt calls for the formation of the All-Star Squadron. On that
same day, Uncle Sam and his group of heroes are attacked in the South
Pacific by Japanese fighter planes. On Dec 9th, the Justice Society
members decide to disband and enlist in the armed forces. On Dec 22nd,
the disbanding of the JSA is made public. Will Everett becomes the
golden age Amazing-Man. Dan Richards is made a Manhunter.
1942 A.D. Tex N. Thomas and Danny Dunbar become T.N.T. and Dan the
Dyna-Mite. Paul Kirk is made a Manhunter. Police officer Jim Harper
becomes the golden age Guardian and befriends the original Newsboy
Legion. Al Pratt, Ted Grant, Jim Harper vs. Guardian of the Universe's
sphere of evil. Per Degaton temporarily alters time a second time. The
Justice Society members regroup as the Justice Batallion. Dr. Everson,
Prof. Zee, Dr. Doome, and Dr. Swanley gather to test Everson's time
ray. Using the time ray, the JSA travel to the 25th century to
retrieve a Bomb Defense Formula. Prof. Zee's jealous assistant, Per
Degaton, sabotages two tests of the formula and the government shuts
the project down. Dr. Doome battles the Seven Soldiers of Victory then
flees into the future. Mekanique arrives from the future. In April,
Johnny Chambers (Johnny Quick) and Libby Lawrence (Liberty Belle)
marry. Commander Steel is bumped a few decades into the future. Uncle
Sam takes his Freedom Fighters to Washington D.C.. F.D.R. proposes
that a group of young heroes become All-Stars. Hawkman suggests a
trial program. "Iron" Munro (age 17), the golden age Fury (age 16),
the Flying Fox (age 19), Dyna-Mite (age 14), Neptune Perkins (age 20),
and Tsunami (age 19) form the Young All-Stars, a sub-division of the
All-Star Squadron. In May, Paula Brooks (age 18) becomes the Tigress
and joins the Young All-Stars. Miss America wakes from coma. Per
Degaton meets Mekanique. Mekanique attempts to destroy the All-Star
Squadron but is destroyed herself; only her robot head survives, which
Per Degaton hides. The Frankenstein Monster has his first contact with
another being in nearly 150 years. The Young All-Stars disband. The
Squire is considered the unoffical 8th member of the Seven Soldiers of
Victory. Mr. America becomes the Americommando and is sent uncover to
Germany. The ex-Young All-Stars vs. Hugo Danner and the Sons of Dawn.
The Young All-Stars are merged into the All-Star Squadron. Christopher
"Kit" Freeman becomes Kid Eternity. After the murder of his brother
Michael, Lance Gallant finds he is able to summon his dead twin, merge
with him, and become Captain Triumph.
1943 A.D. In June, the time-lost 20th century Superman detonates a
German atomic bomb prototype.
1944 A.D. Valoric the Viking and Fey the valkyrie are transported here
from the 12th century by Odin. Valoric battles the Nazis as the Viking
Commando. Bugsy Siegel murders Stuff, the partner of the Vigilante.
The archer named the Spider replaces Stuff in the Seven Soldiers of
Victory. Prince Jon the Viking Prince finds a time-warp to the WWII
era and fights alongside Sgt. Rock of Easy Company. The time-lost 20th
century Swamp Thing aids Sgt. Rock. A group of heroes are sent by
Waverider to stop the rise of Abraxis.
1945 A.D. On April 30th, the Unknown Soldier executes Adolph Hitler in
a German bunker; the public believes Hitler has committed suicide. The
time-lost 20th century Captain Atom battles the Hawk-Monarch. Prior to
first A-bomb test, the Megala bomb is set off, sending Captain Atom
home. In August, two atomic bombs are used to put an end to WWII. Paul
Kirk (formerly the second golden age Manhunter) "dies" on a safari.
1946 A.D. Landor travels from the 25th century and battles the JSA; he
is captured and sent back. The Vigilante kills Bugsy Siegel for the
murder of his partner Stuff two years earlier.
1947 A.D. Prof. Zee nears completion of his time machine. His
assistant Per Degaton wounds him and uses the machine to travel to 331
B.C. where he alters the outcome of the battle between Alexander the
Great and Darius. He is followed and defeated by the 1947 JSA and all
return to 1947; all participants lose their memories of the events.
Not long after, Per Degaton remembers. He wounds Zee and uses the
machine to travel to a few decades into the future, bringing back
villains to help him (the Monster 1944, Solomon Grundy 1947, Wotan
late 1940s, Zodiak 1948, Sky Pirate and King Bee 1948), and then
travels to Dec 1941 in order to alter history; he is defeated by the
1941 All-Star Squadron and returns to 1947; all participants lose
their memories of the events. Not long after, Per Degaton remembers.
He wounds Zee and uses the machine to travel to Oct 1962 and then to
Jan 1942, where he is defeated by the All-Star Squadron. The head of
Mekanique instructs Per Degaton to take her chrono-crystal. Degaton
forces Prof. Zee to use the crystal and perfect his time machine. Per
Degaton fatally wounds Zee who stumbles into his machine which was
preset for Zee's 100th birthday. Per Degaton attempts to enter the
time machine as it fades away but it leaves him behind (Per Degaton
will learn many decades later that he was split into two temporal
beings due to this accident). Mekanique tells Per Degaton to patiently
wait for Zee to re-appear decades hence. Degaton betrays Mekanique and
buries her head. Per Degaton joins the newly formed Injustice Society.
He is captured and spends the next 30 years in prison. Diana Drake
becomes the golden age Black Canary. Molly Maynne becomes the golden
age Harlequin. Rose Canton becomes the golden age villianess named the
Thorn. The golden age Flash battles Mota (Atom Smasher). The
time-travelling John Fox is present during this battle.
1949 A.D. A bizarre and destructive creature named the Nebula-Man
comes to Earth. Many heroes fall against the creature. The Seven
Soldiers of Victory battle the Nebula-Man in the Himalayas but are
defeated. They return with a new weapon. Wing sacrifices his life to
destroy the creature. The resulting explosion displaces the Seven
Soldiers of Victory in time. A memorial is erected on the spot of the
battle by monks who observed the fight. Decades from now, the heroes
will be rescued from the different time periods to which they were
displaced. Of the seven lost heroes: the Vigilante, the Spider, and
the Squire return to this time period; the other four settle in the
late 20th century.
c. 1950 A.D. Blaze sets loose the Seven Deadly Enemies of Man. Her
father, the wizard Shazam, traps them in shells and stores them in his
subway headquarters. Ibis the Invincible, who had lost his lover Taia,
uses his ibistick to place a protective shell around Fawcett City and
then returns to the comfort of his "sleep". Shazam is mugged and
remains in a stupor for years. The JSA use Dr. Swanley's time chute to
solve Dr. Swanley's murder. Dan Richards (the original golden age
Manhunter) quits the Manhunters. The JSA travel to the 31st century.
1951 A.D. The Justice Society of America disbands. Adam Blake becomes
Captain Comet.
early 1950's A.D. Inspired by the heroes of WWII, many new heroes
appear around the globe. Percy Sheldrake, the Earl of Wordenshire, and
his son Cyril become England's Knight and Squire. Wingman protects
Northern Europe. The Gaucho protects South America. The Legionary
protects Italy. The Musketeer protects France. The Ranger protects
Australia.
1954 A.D. Captain Comet leaves Earth.
1955 A.D. J'Onn J'Onzz is snatched from Mars, trapping him on Earth
(J'Onn would learn much later that he was also transported through
time from a few hundred years in the past).
1957 A.D. On March 25th, the Dome is established with the help of Dr.
Mist (the wizard Nommo). Its super-powered members are labeled the
Global Guardians.
1958 A.D. The Challengers of the Unknown chase Darius Tiko to the 31st
century and then to the late 20th century before imprisoning him.
39 years ago Queen Atlanna of Atlantis is impregnated by the immortal
Atlan.
38 years ago The Green Lantern Corps stop the Manhunters from
capturing the Kryptonian spacecraft as it approaches Earth. On or
about February 28th, the craft crashes outside of Smallville, Kansas
and is found by the Kents. The Manhunters cause a blizzard to cover
their covert activities regarding the last Kryptonian. The Manhunters
fail in their attempt to capture the last Kryptonian and instead
infiltrate Smallville. Virtually all children born in Smallville from
that point on are implanted with devices which make them sleeper
agents. Bruce Wayne is born. Five months after discovering him, the
Kents introduce Kal-El to Smallville as Clark Kent, their son.
38 years ago Queen Atlanna's newborn son Orin is abandoned on a reef
to die by his Atlantean "father", King Trevis.
1961 A.D. The time-travelling Spectre fails to defeat Shathan during a
Russian atomic blast. They both travel further back in time.
1962 A.D. In October, Per Degaton comes from 1947 and then travels
back to Jan 1942.
early 1960's A.D. The infant Iris Russell appears from the 30th
century and is adopted by the West family.
early 1960's A.D. Kid Eternity is trapped in Hell for the next 30
years.
1960's A.D. Sargon the Sorcerer, a hero during WWII, gains a
reputation as a super-villain.

26 years ago Henry King (the golden age villain named Brain Wave) and
Merry Pemberton (the heroine Gimmick Girl) give birth to a son.

1968 A.D. August Durant becomes Mockingbird and forms the Secret Six.
1968 A.D. A doll elemental is created and is named Brother Power, the
Geek. Brother Power is rocketed into space.

sentient alien metal used in the experiment assumes Adam's form and

Earth dimension and leaves her with the Winstons.

son (later the hero Damage). Vandal Savage murders the mother, steals
the child, and Al Pratt is told both died during child-birth.
13 years ago During Zero Hour, the third Flash is thrown back in time;
he goes and gives his past self advice.
13 years ago Clark Kent graduates Metropolis University with an
Associates Degree in Journalism. In June, Clark Kent (age 25) becomes
Superman. Superman battles Kalibak, son of Darkseid. A few days later,
Clark Kent gets a job at the Daily Planet. Bruce Wayne (age 25)
becomes Batman. Oliver Queen is stranded on an island for 11 weeks.
Abin Sur choses Hal Jordan as the new Green Lantern of space sector
2814. Sinestro goes renegade. Aquaman comes to civilization, meets the
Flash, and helps him defeat the Trickster. During the Crisis on
Infinite Earths, the second Flash is sent hurtling into the past and
is transformed into living lightning; he strikes the lab of his past
self, Barry Allen, giving his past self the Flash powers. The future
Flash is forever gone at this point. Superman first meets Aquaman.
Babs Gordon (age 13) moves in with her uncle James and aunt Barbara.
On Thanagar, Katar Hol is exiled. Adam Strange travels to Rann for the

Lantern learns that Superman is from Krypton but keeps this knowledge
to himself. Superman meets the Flash. Superman meets Aquaman. Diana
Laurel Lance, daughter of the golden age Black Canary, becomes the new
Black Canary. J'Onn J'Onzz goes public as the Martian Manhunter.
Triumph appears briefly. The Justice League of America is formed. A
few weeks after their formation, on their third case, the JLofA are
aided by Superman against the time-traveler Xotar. A year after
Superman's debut, Jimmy Olsen creates a signal watch. Bruce Gordon
obtains one of Eclipso's black diamonds on Diablo Island. Mark Merlin
becomes Prince Ra-Man. Buddy Baker (age 19) gets animal powers and
becomes Animal Man. June Moone becomes the Enchantress. A year and a
half after his debut, Superman first meets Lex Luthor. Boston Brand is
murdered and becomes Deadman.
11 years ago Dick Grayson's parents are murdered. Two months after
being orphaned, Dick Grayson is taken in by Bruce Wayne. Six months
after his parents are murdered, on his 12th birthday, Dick Grayson
becomes Robin. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, the second Flash
is sent hurtling into the past and is transformed into living
lightning; he strikes the lab where his past self and young Wally West
are talking. Wally West (age 10, almost 11) gains Flash powers and
becomes Kid Flash. The future Flash continues hurtling back in time.
By drinking a gingold extract, Ralph Dibny becomes the Elongated Man.
After 5 years alone, Garth is taken in by Aquaman and renamed Aqualad.
Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) takes in Roy Harper who becomes Speedy. Ray
Palmer becomes the second Atom.
10 years ago Gar Logan (age 8, almost 9) watches as the second Flash
frees Keystone City and the original Flash from suspended animation.
The Justice Society of America comes out of retirement. The original
Hawkman joins the Justice League of America. In a freak accident, six
human life-forces are transferred into Doctor Will Magnus'
experimental robots, creating the Metal Men. The Spectre fails to
defeat Shathan. They both travel back in time. David Clinton becomes
the villain Chronos. The young Chronos is unaware that he co-exists
with his future self who was lost in the distant past, placed himself
in suspended animation, and awakened some years ago. That future
version of himself secretly amasses a small fortune at this time.
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) is yanked through time to the 57th century.
The second Flash battles Mota (Professor Fallout). The time-travelling
John Fox is present during this battle. Soon after, the second Flash
creates the cosmic treadmill. The Flash first encounters Abra Kadabra.
The Flash first encounters Professor Zoom the Reverse-Flash. Aquaman
meets Mera. Soon after her 16th birthday, the exceptional Babs Gordon
enrolls at college for the fall semester. Two months after Dick
Grayson's birthday, Wonder Girl appears and the original Teen Titans
are formed. Superman first battles Bizarro.

attempting to stop a menace to Earth created by a villain named the
Iron Hand, the Justice League and Justice Society learn of the plight
of the Seven Soldiers of Victory, who were lost in time decades
earlier. Dr. Fate contacts a mystical entity named the Oracle who
aides them in finding their fellow heroes. The Seven Soldiers are
rescued and brought to this time period. The Red Tornado is believed
destroyed when he uses the same weapon that Wing used against the
Nebula-Man to destroy Iron Hand's menace. Etrigan the Demon returns.
The Elongated Man joins the Justice League. The Red Tornado returns
and joins the Justice League. Sandy the Golden Boy, partner to the

Air Wave), becomes the second Air Wave. He teams up for a short time

In June, on the anniversary of his parents' murder, Batman visits

Flash kills Professor Zoom 450 years before his birth for the murder

Barry Allen, the second Flash, joins his wife Iris in the 30th
century. The Anti-Monitor, who appeared in this reality's anti-matter
universe as little as a few decades ago, begins his plan to destroy
the current reality's positive-matter universe. The Monitor, also
relatively new to this reality, creates Pariah. When Lady Quark's
homeworld is destroyed, she is brought to Earth by Pariah. Visions of
the second Flash occur. The Monitor turns Kimiyo Hoshi into the new
Doctor Light. A possessed Harbinger kills the Monitor. The space
sector of the Green Lantern Kilowog is destroyed. Flash (Barry Allen)
returns from future and dies destroying the Anti-Monitor's anti-matter
cannon. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, the second Flash is sent

formed. Superman discovers the Pocket Universe. The third Doom Patrol
forms. Jose Delgado becomes Gangbuster. The Guardians of the Universe
prepare for Millennium. The Green Lantern Corps are disbanded. The
Darkstar program expands. Per Degaton is paroled due to his age. He
digs up Mekanique's head. Commander Steel hires Per Degaton to rebuild
Mekanique to use aginst the Justice League. The second Wildcat and Mr.
Bones encounter Mekanique, Wildcat is injured. An aged Per Degaton is
hit by a car. Both are brought to the same hospital. Mekanique brings
the now-deceased Per Degaton back to life. As Mekanique and Per
Degaton prepare fro the arrival of Prof. Zee's time machine from 1947,
Infinity, Inc. arrive. Prof. Zee re-appears and fingers Per Degaton as
his murderer before dying. To everyone's suprise, a younger Per
Degaton walks out of the time machine. It is discovered that back in
1947 Per Degaton was split into two temporal beings. The aged Degaton
disintegrates because of the time paradox. The young Degaton rejects
Mekanique again, as he had in 1947. Scorned, she destroys herself and
the young Degaton. Lyta Trevor and Hector Hall married a few days
later. Hector Hall later dies, returns as Sandman. Star-Spangled Kid
becomes Skyman and is killed soon after. The Outsiders disband.
Infinity, Inc. disbands. The second Atom returns. Checkmate is formed.
Milton Moses Fine is possessed by the spirit of Vril Dox I and becomes
the villain Brainiac. Superman and Batman learn each other's secret
identity. In Antarctica, Supergirl (Matrix) is discovered after 200

Squad is disbanded. Starman reappears after four and a half months.
Mera leaves Aquaman. Mai Miyazaki becomes the water elemental Naiad.
Tim Drake tracks down Nightwing and Batman. Boss Zucco is released
from prison and is killed. Tim Drake moves into Wayne Manor. Superman
builds his fortress of solitude. Hawkman and Hawkwoman arrive on
Earth. Brainiac takes over Milton Moses Fine fully, turning him green.
He leaves Earth in a skull-shaped spacecraft. Animal Man's family is

Troia. Shade appears from the Meta-Zone. Perry White's son Jerry is
killed. Tim Drake becomes the third Robin. Lex Luthor appears to die
in a plane crash. The Guardians of the Universe return. General Glory
returns. Clark Kent reveals his secret identity to Lois Lane.
Waverider appears from 2030 A.D. in the hope of changing the events
which turned one of Earth's heroes into Monarch, so that he will not
kill Earth's heroes in 2001 and rise to power in 2010. Waverider knows
only that Monarch was originally one of Earth's heroes. The Eradicator
returns to battle Superman. War of the Gods. Monarch appears with the
express purpose of creating the original Monarch, guaranteeing his
timeline when the Crisis in Time arrives. Monarch captures Hawk and
Dove. Monarch kills Dove and then battles Hawk. Hawk mortally wounds
Monarch. Aware that Hawk is destined to become the original Monarch,
Monarch tricks Hawk into believing that he is Hawk's future self. Hawk
takes the armor off of the dead Monarch and assumes his identity. The
Hawk-Monarch battles the heroes. Captain Atom attempts to absorb the
Hawk-Monarch's bomb, Monarch tries to stop him, both are thrown into
the timestream. Waverider helps his younger counterpart, Matthew
Ryder, a boy just 8 years old, out of the rubble. During a disaster in
Metropolis, Waverider saves his younger self and his parents.
Waverider believes he has altered history because he remembers that
his parents died that day (what he does not know is that his past was
actually part of a completely separate timeline). Lex Luthor II
arrives in Metropolis and takes over Lexcorp. The second Black Condor
appears. Ray Terrill becomes the second Ray. Clark Kent and Lois Lane
become engaged. Eclipso attacks, Lar Gand named Valor. The second
Judomaster appears. Matrix becomes Supergirl once again. Captain Atom
returns to the 20th century, the Hawk-Monarch escapes into quantum
space. The Hawk-Monarch discovers that Nathaniel Adam is trapped in
quantum space. Nat helps Monarch and they become friends. Nat teaches
Monarch how to tap into the quantum field. When Monarch leaves quantum
space, he promises Nat that he will find a way to help him also
escape. Panic in the Sky. Supergirl meets the new Lex Luthor and falls
in love. Waverider gathers heroes to battle the rise of Abraxis in the
age of the dinosaurs, WWII, the present and the 30th century. The
Justice Society are rescued from limbo. The immortal Arion regains his
magic and his youth. Coast City is destroyed by the evil Cyborg and
Mongul. Groups of Team Titans are sent by the 2001 A.D. Monarch with
instructions to kill Donna Troy, the future mother of the demonic Lord
Chaos. Lord Chaos travels from 2001 after them. The New Titans and
Team Titans join forces and defeat Lord Chaos. Lord Chaos is shocked
to find that Donna Troy's baby does not become Lord Chaos upon his
birth. Donna Troy is divorced. Roy Harper (Speedy) becomes Arsenal.
Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt returns after five years. The Darkstar Colos
arrives on Earth. Jean-Paul Valley becomes the latest Azrael. Superman
is killed by Doomsday. Superboy is created. The Eradicator, a new
Steel, and the evil Cyborg appear. Alien parasites attack Earth; New
Blood heroes are created. Chronos arrives from a short time in the
future. A portal appears and Prof. Alpheus V. Hyatt's time pool device
is handed to him. Chronos uses the device to reach moments into the
past to steal to the device and then to hand it to himself. The Atom
initially believes that the device was stolen by Chronos however he
learns that Chronos has been in a coma since the Invasion. Soon after,
the Atom battles the time-shifted Chronos. When the Atom throws the
time pool device into a time portal leading to 15th century France,
Chronos reaches in after it; before he can pull it out, the device
breaks, the portal closes, and Chronos loses his arm. The comatose
Chronos awakens and time-shifts into the recent past. Superman
returns. David Conner merges with the Eradicator. Batman injured by
Bane; Azrael becomes the new Batman The Scarab comes out of
retirement. Max Mercury (Ahwehota Windrunner) comes out of retirement.
the present In an attempt to obtain enough power to alter time and
save Coast City, Hal Jordan destroys the Green Lantern Corps and the
Central Power Battery on Oa. The last Guardian makes Kyle Raynor the
sole Green Lantern. The 1958 Challengers of the Unknown chase Darius
Tiko from 1958 to the 31st century and then to this time period and
then return with him to 1958. Iris Allen and grandson Bart Allen
travel from the late 30th century and settle here; Bart becomes
Impulse. Triumph reappears after 13 years. Overmaster tries to destroy
Earth. Valor starts colonization of other worlds. Valor gets lead
poisoning. Hal Jordan becomes Parallax and tries to alter time.
Waverider and Hunter attempt to locate the Hawk-Monarch. The
Hawk-Monarch traps them and steal's Waverider's time travel device.
Realizing that he had absorbed Dove's power at the time of her death,
the Hawk-Monarch becomes the Extant. He sends his Monarch armor into
quantum space to help Nathanial Adam escape his prison. The Extant
meets Hal Jordan, now a supremely powerful being who has similar views
of bringing about order. With the help of Hal Jordan, and using the
secrets told to him by Nathanial Adam, the Extant uses the effects of
the Crisis in Time to create his own alternate timeline. The Extant
takes certain beings from other realities to populate his own. Aware
that a demonic Lord Chaos will rule a future Earth in 2001 A.D., aware
that Lord Chaos will later be defeated by the Titans, and believing
that he could easily fill the power vaccuum, the Extant reaches back a
few months in his new alternate timeline and alters events so that
Donna Troy gives birth to a demonic Lord Chaos. That Lord Chaos
evolves himself to adulthood, kills his mother, and within a month
rules that Earth. During Lord Chaos' rise, the parents of Matthew
Ryder are killed (in the manner that Waverider remembered). Many of
Earth's heroes are killed, many go underground. The Time Trapper,
suspicious of Extant's tampering, takes a handful of children from the
true reality and places them in the alternate timeline to eventually
become sleeper agents in the not-yet-formed Team Titans. Chronos,
Calender Man, Clock King, and Time Commander become caught in a time
loop. Time Commander dies. The Lord of Time appears to tell them all
about the Crisis in Time. The Crisis in Time occurs. The third Flash
is sent hurtling back in time; he returns with enhanced powers. The
Extant successfully hides his timeline from the Linear Men. A
side-effect of closing off his alternate timeline: the Team Titans who
originated from that timeline cease to exist. Except for Mirage and
the second Terra, the Team Titans disappear. A new Hawkman forms from
the merger of Katar Hol, Carter Hall, Shiera Hall, and other
hawk-people. The second Atom is regressed to 18 years of age.
Waverider is destroyed, the true reality adult Matthew Ryder of the
Linear Men becomes the new Waverider. Hal Jordan and the Extant are
defeated by Earth's heroes. The Extant escapes to places unknown.
the near future Darkseid enters 1,000 year sleep.
2001 A.D. A few years earlier, in the alternate timeline, the demonic
Lord Chaos was born and evolved himself to adulthood. He killed many
of that reality's heroes and within a month ruled the world. After
years of battling Earth's heroes in the true reality, the Nathaniel
Adam-Monarch discovers this alternate timeline. The armor given to him
by the Hawk-Monarch was so badly damaged it is scraped. Nathaniel Adam
then recreates the Monarch armor (this is actually the origin of the
Hawk-Monarch armor which he will later inherit!). Monarch builds a
great fortress on the Moon to hide from his enemy and to plan for Lord
Chaos' overthrow. Posing as Hank Hall (Hawk), Monarch forms the Team
Titans to battle Lord Chaos. Monarch is unaware that, some years ago,
the Time Trapper took a handful of children from the true reality and
placed them in this alternate timeline to become sleeper agents in the
Team Titans. The Team Titans are sent back in time to the true reality
by Monarch supposedly to kill Donna Troy before she gives birth to
Lord Chaos (in actuality, Monarch wants Lord Chaos to follow them,
closing the time loop which leads to Lord Chaos' defeat). Lord Chaos
follows them and is defeated. When Monarch attempts to take over the
Earth, the planet's remaining heroes rise and a battle against him. He
destroys them, but not without first suffering setbacks.
2010 A.D. Monarch finally takes full control of the Earth of the
alternate reality.
2012 A.D. The adult Tim Hunter travels back in time to meet his past
self.
< 20 years in the future At about this time, due to the rise of the
powerful sorcerer Tim Hunter, the mystics of this age engage in a
great battle. Also about this time on Gemworld, the Lords of Chaos
transform Wrynn into Mordru. Amethyst rises up and defeats Mordru,
burying him under Gemworld for nearly a thousand years.
2016 A.D. The time-lost 20th century 1990's Ray and Black Canary
appear.
early 21st century A.D. The Global Peace Agency transform Buddy Blank
into OMAC, the One Man Army Corps.
2030 A.D. Monarch, the supreme ruler of the alternate timeline Earth,
sends the "subversive" Matthew Ryder of this timeline into the
timestream back to the late 20th century to a point prior to the
Crisis in Time. If Ryder survives, Monarch's plan is to follow him and
use the effects of Crisis in Time to guarantee that his is the only
timeline that exists. Matthew Ryder becomes Waverider, a being capable
of manipulating the timestream, and arrives in the late 20th century.
Monarch appears some weeks after him.
c. 2030 A.D. At about this time, in the true timeline, the true
Matthew Ryder and Rip Hunter discover Vanishing Point. They, along
with a handful of others, form the Linear Men, a group designed to
prevent tampering with the natural flow of time.
2045 A.D. World War III occurs.
c. 2045 A.D. Although Bonnie Baxter (one of Rip Hunter's team members)
believes she time-traveled to July 1st 2035 A.D., the actual date must
have been after 2045 A.D.. Bonnie discovers that the Illuminati have
stockpiled tremendous amounts of information; she stays in the future
to help them rebuild civilization.
2050 A.D. Jonah Hex, a gunfighter from the late 19th century spends
some time in this era. Jonah Hex meets Batman 2050 and the Dogs of
War.
late 21st century A.D. Manhunter 2070 starts his career. Horatio
Tomorrow of the newly-formed Planeteers finds Kamandi (grandson of
OMAC) in a bunker; the boy is adopted and becomes Tommy Tomorrow.
early 22nd century A.D. Society finally recovers fully from WWIII.
Tommy Tomorrow promoted to Colonel in the Planeteers. Chris KL-99
discovers many new worlds. Gary Concord becomes Ultra-Man. Ace Arn
becomes Ultra the Multi-Alien. The Star Rovers are formed. Star
Hawkins starts his career. In 2154 A.D., Space Cabby time-travels to
late 20th century and meets Lobo.
22nd century A.D. Once every 200 years, for 30 year periods, the
island of Marzal returns to the Earth dimension (circa 2170-2200).
23rd century A.D. The Great Wars of the 23rd century occur. Rotwang
builds Mekanique, sends her into the past to alter history. Amerinds
leave Earth to settle Starhaven, a world at the core of the Milky Way
Galaxy. Others humans begin settlement of "Kol world" (continues until
end of 24th century).
24th century A.D. The Space Ranger starts his career. The Space Ranger
meets Adam Strange II, descendant of the 20th century hero of Rann.
The Space Rangers are formed.
24th century A.D. Proton jelly wastes buried in the Earth.
24th century A.D. Once every 200 years, for 30 year periods, the
island of Marzal returns to the Earth dimension (circa 2370-2400).
25th century Using Dr. Everson's time ray, the JSA travel from 1941 to
the 25th century and retrieve a Bomb Defense Formula. Landor travels
from here to battle JSA, defeated and sent back.
25th century A.D. The Knights of the Galaxy form. Rimbor is
re-colonized. The Space Museum is established. Professor Zoom starts
his criminal career in 2460 A.D. (dies in 20th century). Booster Gold
leaves for the late 20th century in 2462 A.D.. The time-traveling Rip
Hunter visits Booster Gold's time period.

late 28th century A.D. Earth's sixth World War occurs. Titan
establishes a Monarchy.
2945 A.D. Iris Russell is sent to the late 20th century by her parents
and is adopted by the West family.
30th century Xotar travels back to the 20th century and battles the
newly formed Justice League of America.
2949 A.D. The Durlan appears from the late 20th century (becomes R. J.
Brande).
2959 A.D. Brande Industries is formed.
2964 A.D. Iris (West) Allen is rescued from the late 20th century by
her parents. They transport her soul away at the very moment of her
"death" at the hands of Professor Zoom and insert it into the body of
a recently deceased woman. Barry Allen, the second Flash, reunites
with his wife Iris. After a few short weeks, Barry dies in the 20th
century battling the Anti-Monitor.
2965 A.D. Iris Allen gives birth to twins Donald and Dawn Allen.
30th century A.D. Once every 200 years, for 30 year periods, the
island of Marzal returns to the Earth dimension (circa 2970-3000).
Marzal was destroyed in the late 30th century.
2973 A.D. Legion of Super-Heroes is formed. United Planets instruct
Green Lantern Corps to stay out of U.P. affairs.
early 2970s A.D. The time-lost 20th century Superman meets the teen
Legionnaires.
early 2980s A.D. The time-lost 20th century Superman meets the
Legionnaires and help them defeat a new Sun-Eater.
2986 A.D. Effects of the CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS felt.
2992 A.D. Legion disbands.
Early 2993 A.D. Donald Allen has son Barry a.k.a Bart Allen. Bart is
born with super-speed powers and ages 12 years in his first two years
of life.
2994 A.D. Mon?El destroys the Time Trapper, altering reality. Legion
reinstated at year's end.
2995 A.D. Glorith absorbs the Time Trapper's essence. Don and Dawn
Allen killed by the Dominators. The time-lost 20th century Superman
meet the Legionnaires. Earth's moon, Luna, is destroyed by Dev?Em.
Waverider sends heroes from the 20th century to the day after
"Moonfall" to battle the forces of Abraxis. Iris Allen takes her
grandson Bart (Impulse [II]) to live in 20th century. Earth explodes
due to proton jelly wastes buried 600 years before. Rokk Krinn begins
study of time (eventually becomes the Time Trapper). R. J. Brande
finances an effort to pull the Pocket Universe Earth into the true
Universe to replace the destroyed Earth. ZERO HOUR occurs.
31st century A.D. The JSA travel from the mid-20th century to here.
The Challengers of the Unknown chase Darius Tiko from 1958 A.D. to
this century and then to the late 20th century before imprisoning him.
38th century A.D. The Lord of Time begins his criminal career.
41st century A.D. The House of Iron Wolf is established.
43rd century A.D. Iron Wolf vs. Empress Erika.
57th century A.D. On a number of occasions, Hal Jordan (the second
Green Lantern) is plucked from early in his career in the late 20th
century and is brainwashed into believing he is lawman Pol Manning.
Later, 20th century Green Lantern Salakk is chosen to replace him.
64th century A.D. The criminal Abra Kadabra is exiled to the late 20th
century where he menaces both the second and third Flash. Years later,
the third Flash time-travels from the late 20th century and helps free
the people of this era.
98th century A.D. A man from this era begins his career as a new
Flash.
c. 1 billion A.D. The Lord of Time retires here.
end of time The Time Trapper/ Glorith hides here (?). The 20th century
Tim Hunter/ Mr. E visit here. Tim Hunter is sent directly home, Mr. E
is forced to "walk" all the way back through time. Superman gets
