Moghadam’s timing was
impeccable in 2011 when,

his former competitor to form
the company that now ranks
as the world’s largest owner,
developer and operator of
industrial logistics real estate.
Prologis assets have tripled since the merger. The US economy was already struggling in the late 1970s,

and said, ‘It’s been 10 years, there’s no obligation, but ...’ and I knew he was talking about

Jaffe says he realized the time was right, for both his young family and his father’s plans
for the future, for him to join the company.
But it still would be another decade before Jaffe would be named CEO.
“When I started I was given a VP title, but that just gave my father the opportunity
to say, ‘You need to spend six months in this area, then come back and we’ll talk,’ ”
Jaffe recalls of his early days with the company. “Then I would move on into
