1 Background of the study

Technology nowadays revolves around us and it brings advancement to today’s

society. As we move along in this computerized world. It change man’s life and make

easier and helpful to day-to-day life.

Back in the day hotel reservation are done manually. When a customer or

vacationist calls at the hotel. Receptionist fills up the form using pen and papers.

Afterwards the reservation form will be process then they will manually compile it to

their logbook. Manual reservation is very difficult, time consuming and prone to error

in reservations of guest who stays at the hotel. Especially in searching records and data’s

about the guest. Now in advancement of technology, it improve a lot. in reserving hotels

with a click of a mouse and type of keys. Receptionist will be able to reserve rooms for

customer and check them in and out of the hotel’s system.

The Computerized hotel reservation system will truly help a lot in hotel reservation.

It has the basic needs for a hotel in managing reservations, checking in and out, inputting

additional and also comes with a billing system that will help receptionist check out

guest easily and it will be less inconvenience. Managing records of guest’ information,

room records and sales will be more secure in damage because it will be in the database

of the system rather than papers that can be damage.

Billing System that can monitor reservations in the hotel?

 How to develop a module that will automatically know what are

 How to develop a module that can reserve a customer with a given

reservation time and cancel it?

 How to develop a module billing system that has a check in/ check

out procedures?

 How to develop a module that will tell the information of rooms?

 How to develop a module that will secure the information of the

transaction & guest?

 To develop a module that will tell the information about the rooms.

 To develop a module that will secure the information of transactions &

guest.

In the researchers proposed system it will focus in the design and development of

hotel reservation system that will improve the system in hotels through organized and

faster system.

Scope

 Check in/ Reservation

o This is where the user or receptionist can reserve or

check-in the customer.

 Room details

o This is where the receptionist can see the room

details and price rate of every room.

o This is where the receptionist can add blankets,

pillow and bed to a customer that’s already check in

o This is where the receptionist can cancel the

o This is where the receptionist can check-out the

customer who are staying in and for them to pay the

amount to stay at the hotel.

Limitation

 Credit cards and bank cheque are not supported as mode of payment

it will not accept credit card and bank cheque.

 Online reservation in not supported and it is not included in the

system.

 The system can’t edit the name of the customer who have reserve

and checked in.

 The system is not equipped with barcode technology.

1.4 Methodology of the study

RAD (RAPID APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT) MODEL

Rapid Application Development model relies on prototyping and rapid

cycles of iterative development to speed up development and elicit early

feedback from business users. RAD models can be very successful when a

quick delivery of a product is needed for a customer. It is also the best model

to choose when there are going to be changes made to the prototype

throughout the process before the final product is completed.

ANALYSIS & QUICK DESIGN

 The hotel reservation system with billing system is in the phase where

we planned and design. What design of the face should it looked? How

the ideal output of every module will should look like in the final stage

of the system? This is where we research and ask the company what are

the needed of the company and the problems that faces of it.

PROTOTYPE CYCLE

 This is the stage where the system is being developed and being built

while debugging in a short time phase of the project.

TESTING

 This is the stage which we test the system if the objective of the proposal

is being met. Reservation system with billing system if this is being done

and if it is in a user friendly and we are debugging while testing the

system.

DEPLOYMENT

 This is the stage where we deployed the system for the company to use

it which may occur some minor bugs and not perfect design of interface.

1.5 Significance of the study

 HOTELS AND GUEST

It will be easier for them to make reservation for guest and it will not be

difficult for the guest to make reservation which they can easily know what

kind of hotel they are going to stay.

that hotel. The proponents’ system also has a database which can check if the customer already

has an existing account. And making an account will help the customer to cancel or reschedule

The Online Hotel Reservation System was developed to replace the manual process of booking for

a hotel room or any other facility of the hotel. The old system does not serve the customer in a

better way; rather it makes customer data vulnerable. The new system keeps proper records of

customers for emergency and security purposes. The hotel’s advertising effort is now accompanied

by a virtual tour created on the system.

manually, it resulted to a very messy office, lots of papers around the desks and sometimes

important documents disappear. From the information gathered, the proponents came up

with an idea of proposing a system that is relevant to the needs of the establishment, highly

efficient to meet their needs and most of all simple, easy to use system.

The 658 Apartelle Online Reservation Management System is not only a database for guest

list but also an online reservation system, where potential guest can have online reservation

which will automatically be sent to the database of the 658 Apartelle. Based on the

proponent’s observation and interview, they have found many problems such as time

consuming logging of the guest list names to the log book, difficulties in making

reservations and difficulties in retrieving information on their previous guests because of

the papers that are scattered everywhere and misplacing of the guestless records.

The problem occurs when the user’s needs to reserve a hotel room or vehicle for that the system

needs a table for hotel rooms and vehicle. In order to avoid duplicated reservation for same room

In the solution part the article first discussed the used case for requirements. The first use case is

making reservation, in this case the user make research for available demand by using date. When

the demand which is room or vehicle is available the user can do reservation. The second use case

is use a reserved entity. In this case when the usage of reservation is done, the room or vehicle is

recorded as available again. The third use case is modifying the reservation. The fourth use case is

cancelling the reservation.

This system can be used for other reservation like seats for flight. Also, this system can record the

history of reservation. This system is similar to our system in making reservation and history but

differs in environment. This system is an online system and the guests is the one who is responsible

reservation while our system local system and the reception is one who is responsible of

reservation.
