MECHANICS

The project will be launch on the Third week of October 2018 and would be participated
by the members of the organization. The following shall be the component of the activity.

Phase 1 – Coordination and Meeting-of-Minds. In this phase, the officers shall set meetings with
the Barangay Council and the community within the project site, Barangay Aga, Nasugbu
Batangas. The following should be settled and accomplished:
1. Approval of the Barangay Council, preferably supported by Barangay Resolution or a
written permission or communication from Barangay Captain.
2. Negotiate for Memorandum of Understanding between the Barangay Council and the
Organization. The organization shall conduct necessary inquiry on the University
Administration in relation to the agreement.
3. A group of Barangay Volunteers, preferably members of the youth was established within
the community.
4. The Municipal Mayor and the Municipal Police Office was informed about the activities
within the area through formal communication and if the said authorities will permit,
actual courtesy visit.

Phase 2 – Site Survey and Methodology Approaches. After accomplishing the four-item matter
on the first phase. The group shall conduct the following in coordination with the Barangay and
with the guidance of the adviser and faculty volunteers:
1. Conduct on-site survey to determine the extent of intervention and identify the
challenges, risks and obstacles in the process of greening the mountain.
2. Determine the specific area within the mountain which would be chosen to be adopted.
3. Consult forest engineers or experts; conduct literature review; similar project visit; DENR
coordination or actual research to determine the best methods or approaches that could
be used in greening the project.
4. Orient the members of the organization on the chosen methods and approaches in re-
greening the mountain.

Phase 3 – Interaction with the Community. After determining the methods and approaches of
re-greening the mountain, the following shall be conducted:
1. Presentation of the Re-greening Methods or Approaches to the Barangay Council for their
information, comment and approval.
2. Presentation of the Re-greening Methods or Approaches to the youth volunteers.
3. Conduct focus group discussion and APKA- Youth Volunteer interaction programs to plan
the greening and cultivation schedules and division of labor.
4. Each participating member shall collect and solicit school supplies and books to some
sponsors. These school supplies shall be given to youth volunteers as a gesture of
appreciation to their support to the program of the organization. These school supply
distribution shall be sustained and shall be conducted every start of the school year.
During regular visit, refurbishing of consumable supplies such as papers, ballpens, pencils
and others for all youth volunteers shall be done at least every month.
Phase 4 – Community and Barangay Official Interaction and Joint Evaluation. After five months,
the organization will initiate interaction with the Barangay Officials to evaluate the progress of
the activity and to improve the methods and approaches of re-greening, enhance the
interchanging of communications, assess the performance of the youth volunteers, and perhaps
determine other possibilities which the partnership may workout.

Phase 5 – Enhanced Greening and Cultivation Approach. The enhanced methods and
approaches as an offshoot of the joint evaluation will be implemented as the greening
continuous. From then on, the organization shall conduct the cycle of ‘greening, evaluation and
improvement of methods’ to further bring the project into higher level of effectiveness.
