Estimation of `FREE POTASSIUM CYANIDE
Pipette a 5ml sample (of strike solution) into a flask add 100ml water and 2ml KI (10%) solution.
2. Titrate with 0.1 N AgNO3 solution to a faint permanent turbidity.
Record quantity of AgNO3 solution used =………………............
3. Calculation :
Oz/gal free KCN = (0.348)x (ml of AgNO3) (0.1N)
4. Maintenance
Free KCN (not combined with AgCN) allowable : 7-9 Oz/gal
