Book in A ...

The Outside: (20 pts)

Choose any container for your book project. You may choose any
container that suits the theme of your book (manila envelop, paper
bag, plastic bag, can with a cover, box, or any other container that you
can imagine. Be creative!) Decorate the container with details
appropriate to the book. We should know something about the book by
examining the outside. Be sure to include the title of the book, the
author, and do not forget your name!

The Inside: (80 pts)

The inside of the container should include the following activities
pertaining to the book.

1. Questions - Write 10 questions that could be answered by

reading the book that you have chosen to read for this assignment.
Five of the questions should be easier comprehension questions
with answers that are obvious simply by reading the book. Five of the
questions should be harder questions with answers that require
more thinking, interpretation, and can not be answered by yes,
no, or single word answers. Please lable this sheet Questions. (20
pts.)

2. Vocabulary - A ten word glossary of unfamiliar words from the

book and a short definition for each word. The sentence from the book
where this word appears should be included also; please be sure to put
the page number from the book. Please lable this sheet Vocabulary.
(20 pts.)

3. Era Fact Sheet- Include ten facts about the era in which your
historical fiction novel takes place. You may want to include important
events, important people and what they did, famous people or events,
or anything interesting that was going on at that time. Please label
this sheet Era Fact Sheet. (20 pts.)

4. Literature Elements- Draw and label an Elements of Fiction

Chart for your novel. (10 pts.)

5. Character Drawing- Draw a picture of the main character of

your novel. Be sure that the character is dressed in era appropriate
clothing. On the back of the drawing, write a short paragraph, 3-5
sentences, explaining the clothing that was worn during the era in
which your book takes place. (10 pts.)
**Please be sure to type everything for the inside of your
container. You may use any font you feel is appropriate for
your novel, but please be sure it is in 12 point font.

Presentation: Students will present their Book in A ... project to the class. They will explain
the following: why they decorated their container as they did, the five items and at least 3 of the
literature elements. (25 pts)
