2. Configuration of IP addresses and server ID

Configuration with CCT 800

As of CCT 800 1.3, all Intercom Servers in the network can be configured without knowing their IP ad-
dress. CCT 800 automatically recognises the MAC address of the Intercom Servers in the connected
network.

Menu Intercom Server > Connection Settings

 Click on Search....
 In the drop-down list Network, select the desired network interface.
 After selecting the interface, click on the drop-down list Query... to display all Intercom Servers in
the network.

 In the drop-down list, select the desired Intercom Server to which a connection shall be established
and click on Open IP tunnel.... An available IP address is automatically suggested - alternatively an
IP address for the tunnel can be entered manually.

 Click on OK. The IP address is automatically taken over in the connection settings dialogue (and can
be tested with the button Test).
 Save the new connection settings.

2.2/0515 11
Installation IS 300

Configuration of IP addresses
 By initialising the IS 300, an IP address will automatically be generated for the IS3-GEP card
(10.10.x.1x = initialised plug-in server ID) – it is still possible to change the IP address manually.
 For the IS3-IP-8P card (common IP address for all virtual IP cards), a unique IP address must be con-
figured in the same subnet.
Configuration CCT 800:
IP - Settings > Tab Common
 In the field Card IP Address, enter the desired IP addresses for the cards IS3-GEP and IS3-IP-8P.
 In the field Subnet mask, enter the desired subnet mask (e.g. 255.255.0.0 at default configuration).

Configuration of further IP network settings

Configuration CCT 800:
IP - Settings > Tab Common
 In the field Router IP address, enter the IP address of the router (also “Gateway”), via which the
Intercom Servers communicate.
 If a VLAN ID is used, all Ethernet packets from this card are automatically tagged with the VLAN ID.
In this case, enter the ID as decimal value between “1” and “1023”.

NOTES: MAC address

 The MAC address is only displayed in CCT 800, but cannot be changed.
 The plug-in server has two MAC addresses (one for the virtual G8-GEP card and one for the collec-
tive of all IS3-IP cards).

IP - Settings > Tab Extended Settings

 In the drop-down list Bandwidth kBit, the bandwidth can be selected, which is used in the network
by the IP card (data and speech). The overall bandwidth must always be set higher as the data band-
width. It is recommended to select no limitation.
 In the drop-down list Databandwidth kBit, the bandwidth can be defined, which is used in the net-
work for data packets by the LAN card. When the bandwidth is reduced, the packets leave the cards
with a larger time period between them (Traffic Shaping Algorithm according to Leaky Bucket Princi-
ple). This prevents a “packet burst”, which can lead to a queue overflow at the router.

Example IS 300

IS 300 redundancy
The redundancy connection of the IS 300 cannot be used like a regular redundancy connection. The re-
dundancy connection is only active if the default connection cannot be established. The following two
examples show typical use cases.
Case 1: Redundancy connection between IS 300 and Intercom Server
In this example, the connection between IS 300 and GE 800 shall be carried out redundantly. For that,
the default and the redundancy connection have to establish their connection over different networks.
Description:
By default, the connection is established over the default connection (network 1) and the redundancy
connection (network 2) is not active. The redundancy connection is only active in case the default con-
nection cannot be established.

Case 2: Redundancy connection between IS 300 and Intercom Server System

In this example, the redundancy connection shall be connected to a different Intercom Server (2 x
GE 800). If the two GE 800 shall receive calls from the IS 300, the two GE 800 must be connected. For
this connection, it is not possible to use a LAN or WAN connection.
Description:
By default, the connection is established over the default connection (network 1) and the redundancy con-
nection (network 2) is not active. The redundancy connection is only active in case the default connection
cannot be established. In this case, the connection is established over the redundancy connection, the In-
tercom Server GE 800 #1 communicates over the Intercom Server connection with the IS 300.

* For this Intercom Server connection, it is not possible to us a LAN or WAN connection. For example, it is possible
to use a NET connection between the Intercom Servers GE 800.

ATTENTION: Server connection

If this Intercom Server connection is disabled, it is not possible to establish a conversation from the
Intercom Server IS 300 to the two GE 800. Only the Intercom Server, which has an active connection
(default or fallback connection) to the Intercom Server IS 300, can be reached.
