ANNOUNCEMENTS
We will remain seated and silent for the morning announcements and rise to recite the Pledge of
Allegiance, Texas Pledge, and Sue Crouch Motto. Important information will be shared on the
announcements, so it is very important that we are silent and actively listening to them.

ASSIGNMENTS
The assignments for the day will be listed for each class. You must copy the assignments onto
your planner each day. The planner will be checked during homeroom each day and rewards
will be given for planners that are completely filled out. Replacement planners will cost $5. You
will be given a time limit for completing assignments.

BINDERS
Students will use the AVID binder system to keep schoolwork organized. The binder will be set
up as follows: zipper bag, ruler, restroom pass, planner, homework page protector with AVID
checklist, dividers for each class, extra notebook paper. Binders must stay neat and tidy at all
times with no loose papers. You will receive a grade based on the organization of your binder.

BONUS BUCKS
We will use bonus bucks as rewards for following school rules and class procedures. Bonus
bucks are paper money that students will receive to buy various passes and “goodies” throughout
the year. Bonus bucks can also be taken away for not following school rules and class
procedures. When you receive a bonus buck, write your first and last name in ink on the back.
We will not accept bonus bucks that are torn, marked out, or without a name. It is your
responsibility to keep track of your bonus bucks!

BONUS BUCK PRICES

DRESS CODE
Students will follow the Crowley ISD Dress Code. Shirts must be tucked in at all times and
I.D.’s must be worn at all times. If you do not have your I.D., you will be issued a temporary I.D.
If you lose your I.D., you will need to purchase a replacement one.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Cell phone use is not permitted during school hours unless allowed by individual teachers for
specific assignments. Cell phones should never be used in the hallways or bathrooms. If you use
an electronic device without permission, it can be taken up by your teacher and parents must pay
$15 to pick it up from the front office. Be responsible with all classroom iPads and other devices.
EMERGENCY DRILLS
When an emergency signal/siren is issued, you will immediately become silent and wait for
instructions. If we must leave the building, we will exit quickly, in a straight line, without
talking. Talking is not permitted during any emergency drills.

LATE WORK POLICY

It is very important to turn in all assignments on time. A warning will be issued on the first day
that an assignment is late, and each following day will result in a loss of 10 points. Assignments
will not be accepted after one week from the due date.

LUNCH
Students will need to walk silently to lunch in a single file line. When you enter the cafeteria, sit
at your assigned table until your table is dismissed to get into the lunch line. Remain seated until
your teacher comes to pick you up at the end of lunch. Use a level 1 voice in the cafeteria.

MANNERS AND SOCIAL SKILLS

We will use PLEASE, THANK YOU, YOU’RE WELCOME, YES SIR/MA’AM, etc to
teachers, guests, and each other. We will also be learning and using social skills such as praising,
encouraging, and coaching others.

PASSING PERIODS
When your teacher dismisses you, exit the classroom calmly and quietly and walk on the right
side of the hallway. You are able to use the restroom and water fountain if needed, but you are
responsible for arriving to your next class before the tardy bell rings. Three tardies will result in a
disciplinary step. Traveling to the 5th grade hallway without permission is unacceptable.

PLANNER
You will write your assignments on your planner at the beginning of each class period. Your
advisory class will check your planner each morning to see that you recorded assignments for the
previous day. Each day that you have your planner completely filled out, you will receive a
bonus buck. The planners will be checked randomly and without notice in other classes as well.
Be prepared!

RESTROOM
The restroom should be used during your passing period before coming to class. If an emergency
arises, you may use one of the restroom passes except during the first and last 10 minutes of
class. After receiving permission to use the restroom, you will be responsible to leave the
classroom quietly with the restroom pass. Please return to class in a timely manner. Only one
student may leave the classroom at a time. Extra restroom passes can be purchased for bonus
bucks. You will be issued one restroom pass with six opportunities per six weeks to use at your
discretion. If you use all of your six passes, you may pay additional bonus bucks to use the
restroom.
SNACKS/WATER
As our district policy also states, there is to be no food or drink in the classroom at any time.
Lunch boxes are allowed as long as they are closed up. This is in order to keep our school
looking beautiful. Water is acceptable in closed containers.

VISITORS
We will occasionally have visitors coming into our classroom. When a visitor enters our class,
you are to continue working as if they have not come in. Show utmost courtesy and respect to all
visitors.

*Procedures will be added as needed to make our school a safe and effective learning environment.
