Team Manager (Level 4)
Job Description
Amazon is seeking an experienced team manager to develop and manage the transcription and
annotation team to support our Alexa Data Servcies team with Speech and language technology.
The ADS team researches, develops and delivers high-caliber multi-language Text-to-Speech
technology, leading in voice quality and accuracy. The Team Manager will lead the transcription
effort in Bucharest, Romania and will partner closely with the Language Data Program Manager
and Data Specialists. S/he will become an expert in the transcription and annotation processes,
train and support the transcription team, maintain accuracy and throughput standards.

We are looking for a Team Manager who is customer-obsessed and can think big as we scale our
team and data services. Diving deep is an important part of our day-to-day work as we focus on
data integrity and metrics.

You will be responsible for working with third-party agencies and Human Resources to recruit
team members and carry out efficient onboarding practices. You will receive regular directives
from the Ops Manager and relevant Program Managers on weekly deliverables to deliver on key
language data workflows. You willl work with off-site Data Specialists to coordinate team
trainings on key language data workflows (e.g. transcription, annotation) and will be responsible
for monitoring accuracy and throughput across your team to meet weekly deliverables.

You must have a passion for data, efficiency, and accuracy. Specifically, you will:

 Manage the operations floor on a day-to-day basis covering approximately 20-30 Data
Associates, including several leads.
 Coordinate with the site manager for space planning and IT support.
 Manage relationship with agencies and onsite HR to find qualified Associates under strict
deadlines.
 Partner with the Ops Manager and Data Specialists to receive workflow priorities and
appropriate training materials.
 Manage both on-site and remote team members as necessary to meet headcount demands.

Position Description

Quality Assurance Manager is a newly created role to build world class Data Quality
processes, metrics, tools, and solutions for ADS.

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will create and implement a strategy driving the quality of
our data to a world class level while setting the goals of Quality Assurance associates. In
addition to experience with building and leading successful data quality assurance programs,
we're looking for someone to drive quality through data, people, process, and technology
improvements and drive engineering excellence across multiple teams.

The Role:
The successful Quality Assurance Manager will be obsessed with quality improvement,
experienced and highly committed to creating world class program for continuous
improvements, able to develop and drive a detailed quality strategy, as well as take a hands-on
approach to executing that strategy. In this role, you will:
· Work with Customer and Operations teams to understand data and quality needs
· Develop, execute, and measure quality improvement strategies

Site Trainer & QA Lead (Level 4)

Alexa Data Services (ADS) is an organization on track to grow exponentially, and we are
looking for detail-oriented subject matter experts to serve as facilitators of defined training and
quality assurance (accuracy) processes at our globally distributed sites.

The ADS Business Excellence (BEx) Quality & Training team is responsible for driving high
quality training content and continuous feedback loops to meet quality standards for ADS data
associates located across the globe.

The Site Trainer & QA Lead will be responsible for coordinating training sessions and adhering
to quality assurance audit processes at an ADS site for our front line data associates to enable
those data associates to expertly transcribe, annotate, and evaluate data serving to continuously
improve the Alexa experience.

The Site Trainer & QA Lead will work closely with the Quality & Training management as well
as Operations and Team Managers to implement new hire learning programs, measure and assist
in improving accuracy, as well as assigning and implementing additional learning programs
based on accuracy and performance data.

Responsibilities

 Partner with project managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), team’s instructional
designers, and other key stakeholders to identify target audience training needs and
deliver learning modules against required training timelines

 For the site, coordinate, plan, deliver and facilitate ADS workflow training such as new
hire, continuing education, launch training for new services, and other ADS-specific
training as needed. This includes classroom or virtual instructor led training, webinars,
and blended instructor-led learning and online self-directed modules or materials.

 Coordinate training calendar for a growing ADS site comprised of 60+ data associates

 Identify site-specific knowledge gaps through observations, focus groups, quality checks,
and data analyses and propose specific training topics based on findings.

 Monitor, track and report on training completion metrics.

 Assist with development and validation of training materials, learner engagement


strategies and evaluation plans.

 With assistance from Accuracy team, coordinate and execute accuracy audits and initiate
follow-up requisite learning programs to address any accuracy issues

 Site Training Administration, including administering testing and certification, managing


the training calendar, reporting on work outcomes and impact, scheduling

 Contribute to continuous improvement cycle of training and accuracy processes


 Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in various ADS workflows, demonstrating high-
level understanding of each workflow and when/how each workflow is used for customer

Basic Qualifications
 1+ years of High Volume recruiting experience

 Experience working with job-boards, resume/candidate databases and internet search
