Reboot – Peter Hammill

Playing tips

This almost 7-minute track appears only on the CD version of the album,
and adds a lot to the overall soundscape-like mood of that specific
version.

As I already told, it is full of soundscapes and sound effects. It starts

with sound effects with the soundscapes in the background and runs almost
two minutes when the vocal starts. The vocal line itself is simple, but
since multiple echoed vocals are laid one on each other, it makes it hard
to
transcript. Nevertheless, I tried to fit the vocal line on some chord
sequence,
which, of course, may not be correct. After the vocals are done,
soundscapes
and sound effects are back again, creating a more anxious atmosphere.
Finally,
this all ends up with guitar riffs. To depict the latter, I used small
letters
denoting single notes, and, as usual in my transcripts, dash signs "-"
showing
that the interconnected notes should be played quickly.

Anyway, this track must be listened first in order to try any

improvisation
over it. By the way, the chords provided for the sung lines are really
truly
very approximate representation of the harmony played, so not to be taken
seriously.
