PE in Years 3 and 4
In Years 3 and 4, children receive two forty minute lessons per
week. At this stage of their learning, students are becoming
more independent learners, increasing their knowledge and
understanding of individual sports and being introduced to a
wider variety of physical activities.
This year, the following sports will be covered by Years 3 and 4
students: Swimming, Football, Basketball, Netball (Girls) , Tag Mr Lim-
Rugby (Boys) & Contact Rugby (Year 4 Boys only), Athletics, Net PE Teacher
& Wall Games (Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball), Cricket (Boys),
Rounders (Girls & Boys) , Gymnastics , Dance, Water Polo and
lifesaving skills.
PE in Years 5 and 6
In Years 5 and 6, children
receive two fifty minute lessons
per week and are taught in
single sex classes. At this stage of their learning, students are
exploring more complex skills, techniques and tactics and Mr. Hughes-
acquiring sound knowledge of the rules that govern activities.
Students have developed, in previous years, the tools needed to

actively participate in activities and now greater emphasis is
placed on students performing in more competitive, yet
supportive, environments (both against themselves and peers).
This year, the following sports will be covered by Years 5 and 6
students: Swimming, Football, Basketball, Netball (Girls) , Tag
Rugby (Boys) & Contact Rugby (Year 4 Boys only), Athletics, Net &
Wall Games (Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball), Cricket (Boys),
Rounders (Girls & Boys) , Gymnastics , Dance, Water Polo and
lifesaving skills.

In addition to the PE curriculum students receive in lessons and
the extensive extra-curricular programme that children have
access to, additional taster sessions, events and tours are
organised throughout the year to ensure students receive
