Lesson Plan in English

(Grade 8)

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students are able to:

a. state the important details of the article "Sawatdee... Hello, Beautiful Bangkok";

b. formulate Wh-questions about the article;

c. answer the formulated questions about the article; and

d. recite the similarities of Bangkok to Philippines' culture, tradition and belief.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Sawatdee... "Hello, Beautiful Bangkok"

Reference: English for Secondary Schools (Torres, 1996)

Materials: pictures, handout, chalk, candies

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preliminary Activities

"Good morning class!" “Good morning Ma’am!”

group. So there will be five groups. Please
count in."

"So each group will receive five copies for the


group reading but you are just going to read it
silently then later, we will read it in chorus."

C. Application

there any question or clarification?"
D. Generalization

"This time, I want a representative from each (ideas will come from the students)
group who will summarize the answers of the
other group. Also, I want you to state the
similarities of Bangkok to Philippines in terms
of their culture, tradition and belief."

E. Evaluation

"Since we already discussed a lot about


Bangkok, we are now going to have your quiz.
Please read the direction carefully okay? If
there is any question, ask me and not your
seatmate or classmate."
