NARRATIVE REPORT

Poster Making Contest is one of the best part of the yearly school program of General Emilio
Aguinaldo National High School – Imus City, Cavite in participation with Department of Education. The
theme for the 2017 Nutrition Month is "Healthy Diet, Gawing Habit – for Life!”. On the spot of celebrating
Nutrition Month, the TLE Department showcased the Poster Making Contest activity that aims to develop
student’s creativity and originality in the field of visual arts. The theme focused on enablement of the
students to be physically and mentally fit through right and balanced nutrition. The advocacy believed that
capacitating school-community engagement, together we can achieved DepEd mission for student’s
development.
The Poster making contest was held last July 11, 2017 at the Home Economics (HE) laboratory
ushered by the TLE committee teachers, TLE club officers and adviser headed by the key teacher Mr.
Francis P. Gutierrez. The contest was participated by 133 participants from grade 7 to grade 10. The
competition was divided unto two sessions, the morning and the afternoon sessions. The morning session
event scheduled for Grade 8 and Grade 10 students started at 9 AM and the afternoon session scheduled
for Grade 7 and Grade 9, started at 1 PM. The proceedings of the competition started with the orientation
of the contest mechanics, registration of contestants, contest proper and finally the submission of entries
for evaluation. The panel of evaluators was composed of 3 TLE teachers assisted by Mr. Joseph Carreon
for score tabulation. The panel selected the 3 best POSTERS by year level which consist of 12 contestants
and automatically judged for the Top 3 over-all winners. Each winner received a certificate of recognition
with medal. Aside from the major awards, the panels also select the contestant who got the most number
of likes on FACEBOOK for Netizen’s Choice Award.
The panel choose the best contestants by each year level. Among the outstanding contestants by
year level, the judges were chosen 3 top students’ output for major awards. The winners were declared by
the judges and the decisions were final. Poster making contest: 2 nd place was awarded to Justine Jerome
Cargullo of G10 – Moore, 1st place was grabbed by Manuel B. Lebrilla of G10 - Confucius and the champion
was proudly won by Miguelito Maaba of G9 - Proverbs. The Netizens’ Choice Award was won by Jason
Tan of G8 – Pearl. To all participants you did a great job, Congratulations Emilians…

CONTEST MECHANICS
1. The contest is a requirement to all year levels and at least1 participant per
section.
2. Drawing materials shall be provided by section representatives.

Materials to bring are the following:


1. ¼ Illustration Board
2. Oil Pastel
3. Pencil
4. Eraser
5. Pentel pen
3. The venue of the contest shall be on the library and shall be announced through
the posters to be displayed around the school campus.
4. All competitors should be in the venue before the contest starts for the briefing.
Students in the afternoon session shall have the actual contest in the morning
and the morning session students shall first have the actual contest in the
afternoon.
5. Entries will be weighted based on the following criteria:
1. Visual Impact - 40%
2. Relevance to the Theme - 30%
3. Originality - 30%
Total of 100%

6. Poster must be finished within three hours on the contest proper.


7. Borrowing of tools and materials from the other participants is strictly prohibited
while the contest is in progress.
8. Area must be clear before and after the contest.
9. The participants must only be identified through its poster number during
judgment.
10. The decision of the judges is final and tabulated.
11. Winners shall be announced by the TLE subject teacher and be posted in the
bulletin board.
12. Rewards will be given on scheduled closing awarding ceremony.
