Children remain in tune with their intuition and maintain
their unquestionable connection with animals. As
children, we can chat away quite happily to our cat

Here’s one more for you, which, if you share your life
with a dog, might relate to an experience you’ve already
had. By the way, there will be cats and other species
in this book, too, and stories straight from the horse’s

The World of Animal Communication
Think of an animal you love and move into the same space as
them. If you have no animals in your life at the moment, you may
like to try this meditation with a bird in your garden or a cow or
sheep that you can see in a field. Observe for a moment what
they’re doing and whether they are busy or quite relaxed. It’s okay
to do this even if your animal friend is having a nap.
Breathe in again, hold for a moment, breathe out and relax. Allow
your shoulders to gently fall away from your ears. Breathe in,
pause, breathe out and deeply relax.

Overview of Animal Communication
With gentleness and love, observe the image of your animal and
your special connection. When was the last time you gave them
this much time, this much focus? When were you last fully present
with them? Undistracted? Unflustered?
Just relax now, focus and be aware of being in this present moment
together. If you’re connecting with an animal you don’t know, like a
bird, cow or sheep, notice what it feels like to share this moment
with them, unhindered by an agenda or time constraints.

The World of Animal Communication
Observe what it feels like to spend this time where you are still,
calm, quiet and focused on being present with your animal.
You might notice that you find it hard to be calm and relaxed at
the moment. Maybe you are struggling to keep your focus and
are distracted by lots of different thoughts. If that’s the case, this
practice is even more vital for you. The calmer and quieter you
are, the easier you’ll find it to communicate.
Take one last moment to confirm what you’re feeling, and quietly,
in your mind, thank your animal for this experience.
Then open your eyes, trusting that, even if they haven’t looked as
though they were engaging with you, your animal has been very
aware of your intention and desire to be connected and together.
