Message from

the Chancellor
I am delighted to learn that I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University has
successfully completed its previous academic year and is stepping into
next one. I am happy to see the University moving persistently towards
achievement of its educational mission.

IKGPTU deems it necessary to foster the innate capability of every student by

turning it into actuality. So, keeping the interest of students at the forefront,
it has taken various praiseworthy initiatives like development of industry
ready curricula for various courses, expansion of modernized research
infrastructure, online Public Grievance Portal, catering to the technical and
professional needs of working professionals through Distance Education,
an exposure of International industrial training and placement of students
in various Public Sector Units and private industries.

IKGPTU is playing a vital role in development of India and especially in state

of Punjab through its remarkable role in the fields of technical education
and skill development. I acknowledge the sincere efforts and dedication put
in by the team of IKGPTU in the successful achievement of its objectives.

I hope and wish that the students, faculty and staff of I. K. Gujral Punjab
Technical University will be able to meet all the challenges of human
development in the days to come and will go on their way to reach new
landmarks in different fields of technical education.

Sh. V. P. Singh Badnore

His Excellency, Governor of Punjab
Message from the Hon’ble
Chief Minister Punjab
It gives me immense pleasure to note that I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical
University is bringing out its ‘Admission Brochure’ for the academic session
2017-18, to provide requisite information to the candidates interested in
seeking admissions in various courses offered by the University.

There is a tremendous potential of technical education in the State as

Punjab being an agrarian state had already reached a point of saturation
and industrialization is the only solution to combat the problem of
unemployment among the youth. It is incumbent on the part of IKGPTU to
provide the best technical education to our students so as to enable them
not only to compete globally with their counterparts but also secure gainful
employment in our country.

In view of rapidly growing industrial sector, this technical University has

played a pivotal role in providing skilled manpower as well as enhancing
industrial output not only in state but at the national level also.

I am apprised that I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University through its

main and constituent campuses has been producing technocrats for the
past several years to cater the needs of industrial sector, which is highly
appreciable.

I send my best wishes to aspiring students and IKGPTU for success.

Captain Amarinder Singh

Hon’ble Chief Minister, Punjab
Message from the Technical
Education Minister
At the outset, I would like to congratulate all the students, faculty and staff of
I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University for a successful completion of the
previous academic year and stepping into the next one. From a modest
beginning in year 1997, the growth of the IKGPTU over the last few years
has been praiseworthy.

With the Right to Education turning into a reality, the major challenge
that confronts us is of higher education. Our concentrated effort should
be to ensure an access to good quality higher technical education to
every student. This is where IKGPTU is playing a key role. It has become a
professional doorway where learning is not just a series of instructions but
a passion, which goes beyond books and learning horizons.

The University has taken a great leap forward in past few years in the
direction of refining the necessary skills of students, their attitudes and
aptitude towards corporate placement through development of industry
oriented curricula, establishment of finishing schools, collaborations
with national and international institutes/universities for training and
placements. I appreciate the dedication and hard work of team IKGPTU.

My best wishes to all the students of the University for their bright future
ahead!
