1. Function of a muscle

Constriction of organs and blood vessels: Nutrients move through our digestive tract,
urine is passed out of the body, and secretions are propelled out of glands by contraction
of smooth muscle. Constriction or relaxation of blood vessels regulates blood pressure and blood
distribution throughout the body.

Property of muscle tissue

Contractility is the ability of muscle cells to forcefully shorten. For instance, in order
to flex (decrease the angle of a joint) your elbow you need to contract (shorten) the biceps
brachii and other elbow flexor muscles in the anterior arm. Notice that in order to extend your
elbow, the posterior arm extensor muscles need to contract. Thus, muscles can only pull, never
push.

2. Identify the most fragile and smallest bone

The lacrimal bone is perhaps the most fragile bone of the face and one of the smallest bones
in the body. Spanning between the middle of each eye socket, each lacrimal is thin and scale like
and serves as support for the eye. The pair of lacrimal bones are two of the fourteen facial bones.
What happens when injured in vertebrae?
Spinal injuries can range from relatively mild ligament and muscle strains (such as
whiplash), to fractures and dislocations of the bony vertebrae, to debilitating spinal cord injuries.
When the spinal cord is injured, the connection between the center of the brain (motor
cortex) that controls movement and the muscle(s) is broken. Signals are unable to travel through
the injured part of the spinal cord, which leads to paralysis. Likewise, signals from the skin that
travel to the brain, which creates the feeling of sensation, are also interrupted and a person will
experience numbness.
How to prevent injury in vertebrae?
Drive safely. Car crashes are one of the most common causes of spinal cord injuries. Wear
a seat belt every time you drive or ride in a car. Make sure that your children wear a seat belt or
use an age- and weight-appropriate child safety seat. To protect them from air bag injuries,
children under age 12 should always ride in the back seat. Lastly, don't drink and drive to prevent
accidents which can cause injury in spinal cord.
3. Significance of muscular and skeletal system in relation with physical fitness
The musculoskeletal system provides our bodies with shape, protection of our internal
organs and the ability to move. I realized that having good knowledge and understanding of
the musculoskeletal system and its functions is important for those working in the fitness
industry. This is because it helps you communicate with other fitness professionals in regards
with assessing movements and proper exercise techniques. The significance of these systems
is that it allow us to execute movements like exercises in physical fitness. The muscular
system helps to maintain our body posture and also for the circulation of blood.
How does your skeletal and muscular system develop in physical fitness?
Exercise improves your muscular system by enhancing the way your muscles work with
other body systems, such as your cardiovascular and neurological systems. In working your
muscular system through exercise, you can also improve your appearance by toning your muscles
and altering your body composition. Exercise improves your muscular system by improving
circulation, which enhances energy and waste removal capacity in your muscle tissues.

4. How and why anatomy and physiology are used in correcting malpractices in movement
execution?
The studies of human bodily movements and effects of exercises on human body are
performed only with the help and knowledge of anatomy and physiology. The knowledge and
conscience of anatomy and physiology is therefore, essential for any physical educator, coach or
sport trainer.
For example, anatomy and physiology could help sport trainer and physical educator to
evaluate the performance of his player. If a sport trainer does not have enough knowledge of
anatomy and physiology, he cannot able to get best results out of his player. An athlete should
also have knowledge of anatomy and physiology so that he can improve his sport skill according
to the sport event by knowing the capacity of his body.
