Subject: Season's Greetings and New Year Message from the SOKADEF!

Dear Members and Supporters of SOKADEF,

As we celebrate the holiday season and the coming New Year (2016), we would like to thank each of
you for supporting our work and helping us shape and advance the development accountability
agenda at the state and national level in Nigeria.

Over the course of the year (i.e.in 2015), we witnessed so many agitations on demand for good
governance and effective service delivery in various local governments in Kaduna state and in many
states in Nigeria – these highlight the fact that citizens’ demands for improved transparency and
accountability remain one of the key expectation of the new era. With this in mind, SOKADEF
continues to work with citizens, CSOs and governments to bridge development gaps and to solve
critical governance problems that affect the everyday lives of millions of people in Kaduna state and
in Nigeria.

We are in full support of the policies of government which are being pursued at the federal level and in
Kaduna state, by President Mohammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai, on: Education,
Agriculture, Power, Youth Empowerment, Security, Local Government re-organization and Pension
Reforms.

For the upcoming year, we look forward to scaling up our existing empowerment projects and
programmes involving over 1000 youths in the first quarter of 2016, working with CSOs and
governments through a set of promising and innovative proposals, expanding our offer of knowledge
and learning products, and building new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships on
Career Exploration & Skills Development. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any

As we wish all and sundry in Kaduna state and the people of southern Kaduna in particular happy New
Year, we call on the Youth to, among other things: Shun all forms of violence. Remain law abiding.
Shun all forms of crimes as there is no excuse for such and imbibe the spirit of hard work and sincerity
of purpose.
