Dedication
This is a special dedication for my mother. My mother read the book The Enlightenment and said
that it brought back many good memories. She said that the book helped her relax while she was
reading it. My mother only got to read several chapters of The Whispering Desert. Seven months
after moving to Arizona she had a severe stroke. On October 22, 1993, my mother closed her
eyes and left the pain of the physical world behind.

Mom, this book is dedicated to you. May you walk within the light as you journey with the
Ancient Ones in the worlds beyond the flesh. May your life there be filled with love and joy.

Forward
The Whispering Desert is the continuation of the life experiences of a light worker. In the
previous book, The Enlightenment, the author talked about her life experiences with the
invisibles, part of her spiritual development while growing up and living in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania.

Having moved to Arizona with her family, the spiritual enlightenment of Crooked Arrow
continues. This book, The Whispering Desert, explains how the decision to move to Arizona
came about. Herein you will read about the voices heard in the desert, the time her house
disappeared, the strange visits from other dimensions and more UFO encounters, before finally
learning about the special experience that took place for a number of people during her mother’s
memorial ceremony in the desert. In addition, this book also talks about the many other light
workers the author has met since her move to this part of the United States.

This is not an ordinary story, but it is one that will awaken one’s curiosity about the paranormal.
While some things are still without explanation, all that you will read in this book is true and did
happen to this Tribal Medicine Woman.

As you venture through these pages, you, too, will be partaking of many unusual events, thereby
making it more conceivable to envision what it is like to be a light worker on a mission to assist
others.
Chapter One
The Decision
I guess, I should start by explaining the vision that greatly influenced a decision to look for a
home in Arizona.

It happened one spring Saturday afternoon, after the regular psychic healing group session left
the house. I was sitting back relaxing while recalling the things that had happened in the group.
Suddenly a bright light flashed and there before me stood three spirits.

The spirits looked like travelers from out of the Bible. I instinctively knew they were angels who
had come with an important message for me. They began by telling me that I had to leave
Philadelphia. They said that I was to take my family from this place of evil and darkness.

I didn’t understand. What did they mean by this place being evil? As these thoughts raced
through my head, one of the angels began to explain. He stated that the whole east coast was
about to go through a change, and one that would not be healthy for me or my loved ones.

He continued to say that as workers of light our bodies are going through vibrational changes,
enabling us to work more with vibrations. Such a change could warrant some damage not only to
our physical bodies, but to our spiritual bodies and our spiritual growth as well.

I interrupted them by asking where would we go? One of the other angels said, “Take your
family into the area of light know as Arizona.” I explained to the angels that financially there was
no way we could move that far now. They told me that I should have more faith, for hadn’t God
always provided for my needs? They explained that God would not only make the way open for
us to have the money, but He would also make it possible for us to find the right home to move
into.

They stated that this time would not be that far off, and that when it happened, it would occur
like a roller coaster ride, one thing after another immediately coming into play. They informed
me that I should also pass this message onto others; that any one who wanted to follow should do
so before things started happening. They said that God would make the way open for those that
chose to believe and who wanted to leave.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

6
They went further to explain that those workers of light who stayed behind would encounter
severe health problems. They said, that the humans on both coast lines had no idea what they had
done, becoming so materially greedy that they had caused this vibrational cloud of doom to
form. I was told that it would keep growing until eventually it had caused disastrous effects on
the people living in those areas. They also shared that the land in the United States, as well as in
other parts of the world, was in great pain, all caused by humans. The land continues to give us
many warnings, they said, and still no one listens.

I asked them to tell me more about when the effects would start to impinge upon the people
living on either coast. They told me that with the election of certain individuals on both coasts,
along with the ugly and ruthless destruction of homes and buildings that was going to happen,
this would make national news. This wave of change was to begin in Philadelphia. The cloud of
great evil would grow from within the city and spread outward. As a result, the people were
going to begin to see that Philadelphia was no longer the City of Brotherly Love, most definitely
not the City of Lights that it once was.

When something happens on one coastline, you can be sure that not long afterwards something
of the same type of evil would be appearing on the other. I was told that it would take years for
the cloud of doom to completely cover the coast. Of course, just how many years really
depended on the people living there and the energy they gave off. Many of the people living
there were going to be feeling the physical affects of this evil as it continued to spread. Within
about 10 to 12 years, this cloud was going to become so thick no one was going to be able to
break free from its negative vibration as long as they continued to live there.

Many light workers were going to begin to feel as though they were trapped in this area. I
wanted to know if there was anything that could be done to stop this from happening. I was told
that although enough prayers and brotherly/sisterly love from the light workers might be able to
postpone what was going to happen, it would not be able to prevent it from happening. The cycle
has already started, and, as we know, history has a tendency to repeat itself.

Humans still put more emphasis on things of the material world than on their own spiritual well
being, and, because of this, they keep falling backwards in their development. While many will
be able to go forward, bringing about increased spiritual enlightenment, it will not be enough to
bring about the much needed change.

They also relayed that crime on both coasts, committed mostly by the younger generation, would
reach an all time high. Thousands of people will be out of work. The pollution of both water and
air will increase, adding to an escalation in respiratory problems.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

7
The number of senseless deaths would also be on the increase, attributed to drunk drivers,
disease and suicide. Those light workers who did not leave would choose to remain of their own
free will, trying to seek each other out so as to join their energies with one last bit of hope to save
the coast. Unfortunately, there was going to be a vibrational outcome that would rock both
coastlines, for there would not be enough light workers joined in a common cause to bring about
a total change.

It wasn’t long before the way was made open for my family and myself. We began by answering
relator ads and requesting more information. One realtor sent pictures of some land. Another sent
us a catalogue about property all over Arizona.

It was October 1982 and although the evenings were cool, we were still experiencing mild
summer type weather during the days. My mate decided that he would take a trip to Arizona in
order to check out the land in the pictures. Taking two weeks off from work, he and my son,
Hawk, went to Arizona. Given that Hawk was ahead of the rest of his class, these missed two
weeks would not matter, according to his teacher. Mind you, she did give him some extra
assignments to work on while he was there.

My daughter and I stayed in Philadelphia to take care of the pets. While they were gone, I called
the realtor who had sent the catalogue. She was a very pleasant speaking woman, who left New
York to become a relator in sunny Arizona. There were two properties listed in the catalogue that
I was interested in. Unfortunately, they had already been sold. She was quick to explain that I
would have a much better chance of finding what I wanted if I were to come to Arizona for a
visit. I told her that I would get back in touch with her after I had the chance to talk things over
with my mate.

In the meantime, it took my mate and son two days by Amtrak train to get to Arizona. They made
a scheduled stop in Chicago, where they changed trains. They called me from Chicago to tell me
that everything was fine. They also spoke about how cold it was there. After arriving in Arizona,
they caught a cab to the hotel in Scottsdale, where they stayed for four days. My mate called
every day to tell me how hot and sunny it was there. Certainly, this was a most welcomed change
from both Chicago and Philadelphia.

Unfortunately, the first two days were not overly pleasant for him in that he was quite feverish
and had to stay in bed. Hawk spent every chance he could in the hotel pool. It was on the third
day that they went to see the realtor about the land in the pictures.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

8
Upon returning to Philadelphia their skin had darkened from swimming in the hot sun. My mate
emphatically stated that we should keep contacting other realtors before we made our final
decision, especially as the land in the pictures was so far away from everything.

My mate was also interested in going back to school for work on his Ph.D. in chemistry, so we
needed to find a place near a university. We made the decision to have the children finish out the
grade they were in before we uprooted them. We also figured that by then we would have been
able to save the money that was needed.

As the months passed, we spent our free time both planning as well as packing the things that
were no longer needed. By the end of May 1983, we had made plans to take a few days off from
our jobs in order to take a trip to Arizona so as to scout out the area for our new home. The trip
was arranged for the first weekend in June. Between working things out with the travel agent,
securing the plane tickets and making all the needed arrangements for someone to watch the
children and feed the pets, the first few days in June were busy ones for all of us.

On Friday morning, June 4, 1983, my mate and I had arisen at 4 in the morning to finish getting
ready for the trip. This was just going to be a weekend trip to look for a new home for our family.
One of my younger sisters was spending the weekend at our Philadelphia home. My neighbor
across the street, the one who had the two daughters, said she would keep checking in on them
while we were gone. The taxi cab arrived at 5:15 am. We had until 6:30 am before our flight was
scheduled to leave. After loading up the cab with our suit cases and overnight bag, we were off to
the airport.

I couldn’t believe how many people in the area were there, early like us, to catch a flight. This
was only my third time flying, so I was really excited. My first two times flying were when I
went away for basic training with the army reserves in 1974. The airport had changed
considerably since then. It was now much larger and very modern. Even the planes seemed so
much bigger.

We checked our bags and waited to board the plane. Thoughts immediately began to race through
my mind. What would Arizona be like? Would I like it there? What if we spent all this time and
money going out there for nothing? What if we couldn’t find a home? What if we wouldn’t be
able to get jobs there? What if the people didn’t like us? I knew that I had a good job in Philly as
a case worker, making ten dollars an hour. My mate also had an exciting, good paying job as a
chemist at a water testing lab. In addition, we had friends and all of our relatives were on the east
coast. We knew absolutely no one in Arizona.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

9
My worries, without delay, came to a halt as the words of the angels went through my mind. I
seemed to recall one statement in particular, that one whereby they had shared with me that God
would make way for our move. So far, things seemed to be happening just as the angels had said
they would.

In due time, the boarding announcement was made. As we sat in our seats and buckled up, my
worries had all vanished. I knew, in my heart, that what was happening was due to the will of
God. I knew that everything would be alright. At that very moment, I also knew that we would
be successful in finding a home in Arizona. I was finally overcome with the excitement of being
on a plane and heading for the southwest.

As the plane took off, my ears began to pop. As is usually the case when the plane starts to level
off, my ears stopped popping. The clouds looked like snow people as we flew through piles of
the fluffy white stuff while the ground below seemed to resemble a giant patchwork quilt.
Landing in Atlanta, Georgia, we switched planes and continued on our journey, the plane arriving
in Phoenix, Sky Harbor Airport, at 10:40 am.

This airport also was very large. There were Indian rugs hanging on the walls and gift shops
everywhere you turned. We picked up our luggage and meandered outside of the airport. I
remained with the luggage while my mate went off in search of the rental car. The sun was
extremely bright. Never before had I experienced anything like it. It seemed to reflect off the
passing cars.

There was no where to go to avoid this intense reflection. As I waited, my eyes began to run with
tears to compensate for the burning sensation. By the time my mate drove up with the rental care,
my eyes, completely irritated, were brimming over with tears. As soon as he saw the tears, my
mate asked me what was wrong. That was when I told him that each of us had to buy a pair of
sunglasses before we did anything else. I was normally very sensitive to light and the intense
glare of the sun was only making my eyes more sensitive. After checking into our hotel, we
would be off in search of a drug store.

We had reservations at a hotel that wasn’t too far from the airport. We were also wanting to make
sure that we had enough driving time to get back to the airport without any confusion, since we
didn’t know the area. The hotel was located on a busy main street. We checked in at the desk to
get our key and room number. The room was very nice. There was a large queen size bed and a
dresser. A table and chair set, a small refrigerator and a color TV with access to cable.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

10
After putting everything away, my mate called the realtor in Scottsdale. It was the same realtor
he had talked with the last time he was here in Arizona. My mate explained that we were in town
for the weekend only, telling him that we were looking for a three bedroom home with some land
because we had two children as well as pets. He also told the agent that we were looking for
something in the $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 range. The agent responded by telling us that he
would give a call back as soon as he had been able to locate something in our price range.

Deciding that we both needed a short nap, we lay down before venturing forth to purchase sun
glasses. Not only were my eyes needing a rest after all that tearing, but neither of us had slept
much the night before. We had been so busy trying to get things ready for the trip. Falling onto
the bed in sheer exhaustion, we slept for about an hour. Upon awaking, we left a message with
the front desk that we would be gone for a couple of hours.

It was really a hot day, with the temperature well into the hundred range. We drove around until
we found a drug store. By this time, my eyes felt as if someone had held a match to them, so I
bought a pair of sun glasses as well as some eye drops. Armed with my protection, we decided to
drive around and check out the area.

Phoenix and Tempe, from what I saw of them, were not that much different from other US cities.
There was one main difference, however, between the cities on the east coast and the cities in
Arizona. The cities here were cleaner. In Arizona, you could see more of the sky due to the fact
that there were less buildings to block the beautiful view. More importantly, the air was easier to
breathe. This new experience was intoxicating to my lungs, as they were so used to being filled
with pollution. When I breathed in this clean Arizona air, I almost got light headed. I was getting
drunk on sunshine and fresh air. This was really a remarkable feeling.

Everywhere the eye could see, there were tall palm trees towering over most of the buildings,
giving the area a tropical flair. I couldn’t help notice that there were gift shops everywhere.
While they contained all kinds of Arizona souvenirs, they seemed to focus most strongly on the
selling of Indian crafts of all kinds. It was not too difficult to tell that this area was a tourist
haven. What I found the most bizarre about these gift shops was the fact that they were owned
and run by white people. It just didn’t make any sense, not with a state that had so many Indians,
with the main attraction in the gift shops being Indian crafts. Yet, I couldn’t see any stores run, or
owned, by Indians. This is what really puzzled me about this state.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

11
We parked the car near Arizona State University. My mate had decided that he wanted to check
out the Ph.D. program for chemistry that they offered. We quickly found our way to the
Administration Office. They gave him some forms and then redirected him to the campus book
store, where, they told him, he could get a school catalogue. The book store, packed with
students of all races and colors who were getting their catalogues and other supplies, was a lively
place to be.

Arizona State University has a very large campus, so it took some time to find our way around.
Upon our return to the parked car, we discovered a parking ticket on the windshield. Calling the
number on the ticket, my mate explained that we were only in town for the weekend. They
informed him that he could either pay for the ticket at the Traffic Court Office in town, or send
the payment by mail. As the Traffic Court Office was only a couple of blocks away from where
we were parked, my mate decided to pay the ticket while we were still in the area. The Tempe
Police Department really seemed to be on the ball when it came to parking in a spot for more
than the allowed time. It was nothing like back east, where people double parked on the streets,
not caring whether it was right or wrong. We paid the ticket and went back to the hotel.

We first checked at the desk to see if there were any calls. We also let them know that we would
be in our room until evening. The relator hadn’t called, so we stayed in the room and watched
TV until 7:00 pm. That was when we decided to go out to a restaurant. After dinner we went
back to the hotel room and called it a day. We were still so tired from the trip.

We got up early the next morning. My mate called the realtor back, telling him that we would be
leaving Arizona the next day. The realtor told us that he was looking for something in our price
range and that he would call us back. I told my mate that he shouldn’t even bother with this
particular realtor because when they had sent us information they had listed property for far less
than what we were now in the market for. Instead, I suggested that we call the lady realtor in
Wickenburg, for it was she that I had talked to on the phone prior to our coming to Arizona. Even
knowing that Wickenburg was a considerable distance away, I explained that it wouldn’t hurt to
call, that just maybe she could find us what we were looking for. Clearly, we had nothing to lose
as one day had already been wasted.

Nodding his head in agreement. He made immediate contact with the lady realtor, providing the
same details as previously given to the other. After completing the call, he told me that she, too,
had relayed that she would call him back with the particulars.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

12
Turning toward me with a disappointed look on his face that clearly said that all realtors are the
same, I shared that I had felt different about this realtor. That we just had to have faith.

We called the front desk to inform them that we would be away from the hotel for a couple of
hours. We went shopping in Scottsdale, buying all kinds of trinkets for our families. My mate
then took me to the hotel where he and Hawk had stayed when they came to Arizona. We had
lunch there before returning to the hotel. As soon as we checked in at the front desk, the clerk
informed us that we had received four phone calls in our absence. They were all from the lady
realtor in Wickenburg. Apparently, she had been trying to get in touch with us all day.

I told my mate I knew something would turn up. Returning the call, but unable to get her, all we
could do was leave a message for her to call us right back. We sat down to watch TV while we
waited. Within the span of fifteen minutes, she had returned our call. She was very excited,
calling with good news, as she had been able to locate five homes for us to look at. As it was
already getting to be quite late, we decided it would be better to get up early the next morning in
order to check out the houses before it was time for our return flight back to Philly.

The realtor asked us to give her a call in the morning so she could provide us with directions on
how to get to her office in Wickenburg. We felt elated after that call and decided to pack
everything that we weren’t going to be using. After that, we put on our swim suits and went to
the pool for a refreshing swim. We had both said that we would get in at least one swim before
we had to leave Arizona.

After our swim we got dressed and went out for a snack, taking in a movie before calling it a day.
The next morning, after breakfast, we packed the car with all our belongings. This would allow
us more time to check out the houses, instead of having to rush about to catch the plane that was
scheduled to leave later that evening. We called the realtor, who gave us directions to
Wickenburg, along with the addresses of two of the homes that we could check out on our way to
her office.

After checking out of the hotel about 9:00 am, we were on our way to Wickenburg, fully
prepared to make a day of house hunting and taking in the sites before it was time to depart. We
arrived at the first house at about 11:00 am. Our appointment with the realtor wasn’t until 1:00
pm., so we were making good time.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

13
The first house was situated up a very steep hill. At the top of the hill sat a double-wide green
and white mobile home. The owner greeted us and was very congenial. He said the home and
five acres of land was selling for $57,000.00. He was also being very honest with us when he
said that there wasn’t much anyone could do with the land because it was hard rock and sand.

The land sloped up and down like the tracks of a roller coaster. While we were standing there
looking out at the land, we heard a sound like a pig snorting. We later found out that it was
coming from the wild Havalina that roamed throughout the area. Havalina are a kind of wild
boar and are native to the Arizona desert area.

The owner’s wife took us inside to show us the house. There was nothing special about it. It had
three small bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and a very small kitchen. The owner said that
he had been waiting for almost a year now for the telephone company to find a way to patch
lines up to the house.

My mate asked the owner why he was selling the property. He said that as he now had a job
down in the valley, he was going to move his family there to be close to him. We thanked them
both for taking the time to show us the property. We told them we wouldn’t be making any final
decisions until we had a chance to see all the houses the realtor had to show us. Then we started
down the hill to get back on the main road. Once on the main highway, we were off to find the
second house.

The trip to Wickenburg was a long hot one. By noon, the temperature had already reached 114
degrees. The scenery was beautiful, exactly as I had pictured Arizona would be. Homes were
spaced far apart in some areas. In others, there was much open space where no homes were
situated at all.

Everywhere I looked, there were cacti of many varieties and sizes. The landscape, totally natural,
was one of God’s greatest works of art, for this Arizona sky seemed to be the largest sky I had
ever stood under. The intense blue color was breathtaking, without any pollution to hide the sky’s
beautiful color. In one section of the sky there were cloud formations that looked like a paint
brush just lightly stroked them across the sky.

Unable to locate the second house, it was getting close to 1:00 pm. My mate had shared that the
second house was not that much different from the first, with the only difference being that it had
a front porch and wasn’t situated on a hill. Not liking the first house, I knew I wouldn’t like the
second one either. We kept on driving to Wickenburg, making it to the realtor’s office a little
before one.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

14
Wickenburg is not that big of a town. We passed one movie theater, several restaurants, two gas
stations, several motels, and lots of gift shops. Once again, Wickenburg appeared to be another
tourist stop along the main highway. This was not a very busy city, but a small, slowly
developing, town.

We introduced ourselves to the realtor and she greeted us warmly, as if we were old friends. She
had a nice Arizona tan that made you think she was a native of the area. However, it was when
she talked to you that you knew she was originally from the east coast. As she walked, her long
brown pony tail swayed back and forth, reaching down her back past her waist. Her hair was
very shiny, long and straight. It really looked pretty.

She told us that she was originally from New York, but that she had moved to Arizona while her
children were very small. We got into her car to go check out the houses she had on her list. She
talked all the way to the first house, which was on the outskirts of town. This house was very
small and didn’t have any yard at all. It had a brick front and sat on a small street. We told her
not to bother taking us inside, because we had pets and needed some yard space, so she drove on.
The more she talked, the more I knew that we would leave Arizona knowing that we had both
found a place to live as well as a new friend.

Leaving Wickenburg, we were back on the main highway once again. As the realtor drove, she
told us that the other two houses were in Congress, about 15 miles away. As we drove, the
scenery became more desert like and the homes were further apart. We passed several ranches
that had horses and cows. Soon, we were approaching a sign that spelled “CONGRESS.” Just
beyond the sign, it seemed, were the remains of a ghost town.

The realtor explained that this area was the original town of Congress. While the center of the
town was now situated across the railroad tracks and down the road, this old ghost town area had
a trading post that was still occupied. There was also a newer building, either a restaurant or grill.
The other buildings were mere wooden shacks that were falling apart.

Congress was one of those little towns that you were in and out of before you knew it. The main
street was the highway. There were two grocery stores, a laundry mat, a restaurant, a gas station
and the post office, all located in the heart of town. The realtor drove up a dirt road to an area
that had about five mobile homes. We then came to a little house and pulled into the driveway.
As we got out of the car I noticed that the side of the house was a recent add on. Likewise for the
porch. The house was originally a trailer home that had been converted. While the porch was
made from old wooden screens that completely enclosed it, the realtor told us, as she opened the
front door that this was a “Fixer Upper.”

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

15
As we went inside the house, we saw dead bees all over the porch floor. As we walked, our shoes
made a crunching sound from stepping on all the dead bees. The house wasn’t a beauty and it
really needed a lot of work. We certainly didn’t think it was worth the $48,000.00 they were
asking for it.

We got back in the car and drove up and down the dirt roads until we came to another little
house. This one looked a little better than the last one, but not by much. It, too, was a “Fixer
Upper.” Although there were five acres of rolling land with the property, the land, full of weeds,
was mostly rocks and sand. The house needed considerable work, both on the inside and the
outside. The owners were asking $58,000.00 for this one. The neighbor’s yard looked like a junk
yard and that was putting it nicely. There were four broken down cars sitting on the lot with car
parts that were scattered everywhere.

The realtor asked us if any of the homes were what we were looking for. As we got back into the
car, we told her that they just weren’t what we had in mind. The only one that even came close to
what we might consider was the one on the top of the hill and we were not even wanting that
one.

Telling us that she had to find us something, she said that we shouldn’t have to go home without
any hope. She mentioned that there was a house not far from Congress. In fact, her agency had
just received the keys to the home that very morning. Even though it was not yet on the market,
she said that the owner was asking $35,000.00 for the property. As we were already in the area,
we decided that we might as well check it out. After all, we had nothing to lose.

She proceeded to drive down the dirt road until we came to the highway. Making a left turn, we
drove about a mile or so outside of Congress. Making another left turn into a settlement area that
had a large sign facing the highway, there were no more than 12 homes in the settlement and all
were scattered far apart. Driving further into the area, we were told that the settlement had
originally been designed as a retirement area. There was only one family currently living there
that had children.

We drove down to the end of the road before it turned, driving onto a lot that looked as though it
had just been cleared. There were a few scattered cacti in the front and side yards. The house, a
double wide mobile home, was a cream color with a rust colored trim. There was a skirt around
the bottom of the house that gave it the appearance of a regular home.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

16
We went up the front steps and entered the house. The mobile home had two bedrooms, two full
bathrooms, a family room, living room, dining room, kitchen and a small hall like area for the
laundry room, as well as a door to the back of the house.

After touring the house, we went out the back door to look at the land that went with the house.
The property was one-third of an acre of land that was almost square. The back yard had a metal
storage shed with a cement base. There was also a wooden shed that looked like a chicken coup.

On the ground were three very large circles. The circles were perfect in shape and no weeds or
grass of any kind was growing within them. Even the dirt and sand inside these circles was
different from everywhere else. I asked the realtor if the owner had an above ground pool that
they might have moved to three different spots and/or maybe some type of lawn furniture that
may have had a large round covering that had been moved about. Her answer was no.

I asked if there was a problem with the septic system that might have been the cause of the
strangle circles. Again, the answer was no. In fact, she said, the septic tank was closer to the
house and it was only three months old. There was simply no way the septic system could have
caused the circles because the circles were to far away from where the tank was. In addition,
these large circles where in a perfect tripod formation. I said, “Well, if none of these things
caused the circles, what did cause them?” The realtor replied, “Beats me! Your guess is as good
as mine.”

We told the realtor that we had to have a little discussion about this house. We certainly didn’t
want to seem over anxious. We both liked the house. In fact, we both liked it a lot. The realtor
went back into the house to lock it up, telling us to take our time. We walked around to the front
of the house, talking as we looked over the entire area. We noticed there were telephone hook
ups already on the property, which was a definite plus. We needed a phone because of the
children. As we walked back to the car, we heard the sound of a hawk and looked up to see two
hawks circling over us. As we got into the car we told the realtor that out of all the homes we had
looked at, this one was more like what we were looking for.

She drove us past the grade school in Wickenburg. She showed us the shopping center and high
school on the way back to her office. Getting out of her car and walking back to our own, we told
her that our final decision would have to be a joint one. We certainly had to wait until we
returned to Philly and talked it over with the children.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

17
She told us to take our time because the house was not listed yet, that it would still be a matter of
a few weeks before it actually appeared on the market. We thanked her and told her we would
call her with our decision before the week was out.

On the way back to the airport, we stopped off at a restaurant in Peoria to have dinner. We were
catching a late flight and it would be 9:00 pm by the time we got back to Philly. After leaving the
restaurant, we drove straight to the airport and returned the rental car. Checking our baggage, we
waited to board our flight. We slept on the flight because we knew we wouldn’t be getting much
sleep when we got home.

Arriving home on schedule, we took my sister home, also dropping off the trinkets we had
purchased for my family. Everyone had questions about our trip. We went back home and stayed
up late talking, even though we both had to return to work the next day. We decided that we
wanted the last house we had seen, the one that was not yet listed. The children were all for it,
just based on the description we gave them and the pictures we had taken.

Next, we decided to give our notices at our jobs in the morning, in order to start things rolling.
The children only had one week left of school, with most being half-day sessions. I had planned
to leave work early on their last day of school as I needed to make a formal request for copies of
their school records. I would also spend the rest of this day getting copies of medical records for
everyone. Better yet, this was a fine time for all to get a complete physical.

We went back to work on Monday, immediately putting our plan in motion. My mate called the
realtor and told her we wanted the house. His father had died a few months ago, leaving
everything to him and his brother. After selling the house and dividing up the money, we had the
money to buy our new home. He let the realtor know that we were going to be paying for the
house in full.

She quickly informed us that we hadn’t wasted any time in making our decision. She hadn’t
expected to hear from us for several days, least of all not the very next day. She said that she
would draw up the papers right away and have them express mailed to Philly. My mate told her
that he would sign the papers and send them back along with the check for the full amount of the
house, also by express mail. Asking her when could we actually move into the house, we were
told that anytime after the documents had been recorded with the county, we were free to move
in, because we were paying for it outright and it was ours. On June 14,1983 we became the
official owners of that cute little home in Congress.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

18
The rest of the month was spent packing and organizing. We took the pets to the vet so they
could get their shots and medical records. The doctor also gave us some tranquilizers for them
since they would be flying out to Arizona. Of course, we had to make our rounds and say
goodbye to our family and friends. Our co-workers even hosted farewell parties.

The plan was to be completely moved by the end of July. We started calling the different truck
rental companies to see who might be able to accommodate us in allowing us to drop their truck
off at some branch office in Phoenix, after we had transported everything to Congress. We
contacted the utility companies in Arizona so things would be ready for us when we arrived at
the house. We found out that all deposits had to be paid in person before they would turn
anything on, so my mate made plans to pay the deposits as soon as he arrived in Arizona.

During this time of rushing to get things done, my mate received a letter from Arizona State
University accepting him into their Ph.D. program. In the mean time, my mate’s brother came up
from his home in New Orleans to help drive the truck to Arizona.

On July 24,1983, the rental truck was packed with all of our belongings. We were taking so
many things with us that we even had the car, attached to the rear of the truck with a tow bar,
filled to the top. My mate, his brother and my son, Hawk, started on their long trip across country
to Arizona. My daughter and I stayed behind with our two dogs and two cats, as we were going
to fly out once we knew that they made it safely there.

My mate called me from every stop along the way. When they got to Texas, he called to tell me
that our pet turtle and two gerbils died. They had been riding in the car. Unfortunately, the heat
was too much for them. They were not used to that type of climate, the two and one half days
that it took to reach Congress.

In the meantime, my daughter and I secured our airplane tickets through a travel agent. On the
third day, some friends came over at 5:00 am. They helped us take our pets and the last of our
belongs to the airport. We had given the tranquilizers to the pets before leaving the house. By the
time we got to the airport, the tranquilizers had already started to work. We were having a hard
time trying to get them into their carriers, especially the big dog. As a result, we almost missed
our flight, making it through the doors about one second before they were to close.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

19
This was my daughter’s first time on an airplane and she was very much afraid. After the plane
was in the air, her fears left her. She was quick to decide that she wanted the seat near the
window so that she could look out and see the land below. We traded seats. Taking countless
pictures of the land and sky, even the plane’s wing, as we flew, kept her occupied.

We arrived in Phoenix, Sky Harbor Airport, at noon. The pets were still sleepy when my mate
and my son arrived to pick us up. Not used to this kind of heat, the animals were beginning to get
restless and irritated. We stopped at a corner store and got some ice for them to lick, all in an
effort to try and help keep them cool, knowing full well that the ride to Congress was going to
take about an hour and forty-five minutes, at the very minium.

When we got to the house, the animals found cool spots and immediately went back to sleep. It
would be several hours before those tranquilizers fully wore off. There were boxes all over the
house. The children had already picked out their rooms from the descriptions we had given them.
My son took the family room as his bedroom and my daughter got the small bedroom. The first
few days, as one would expect, were spent unpacking and putting the house in order.

Chapter Two
Spirits in the Desert
Now that the unpacking was done and we were all settled in, my mate needed to register for
school. We left the house about 9:00 am and drove to Tempe. My mate registered while we
waited for him by a fountain that was located in the middle of the campus. When he was
finished, we went with him to the book store on campus to buy the supplies he needed. After
getting his supplies, we went for pizza before heading back home.

We had a few more weeks left of summer before I had to register the children for school, and
before my mate had to attend classes. My mate decided that it was time I had my own car. I
really needed one out in the desert, miles from everything. We spent three days car shopping
until we found a perfect little car, a cute little 1977 gold four door Hornet, with very low
mileage. The car was in mint condition because the previous owner, a little old man, very seldom
drove it and took great care of it. Now I had a car to use in case of an emergency and I could do
the shopping while my mate was at the University.

The next few days were spent enjoying our time together. We played tennis and ball in the back
yard. We brought the children Beebe rifles, showing them the proper and safe uses of fire arms.
My children were very cautious and only used their guns on rattlesnakes. After they shot the
snakes, they skinned them and sent the skins back east to their cousins to use in school projects
for extra credit.

They rode their bikes to Congress town and met other children there. When they saw other
children shooting cacti and rabbits, it made them sick, so they stopped taking their rifles out.
They couldn’t understand how anyone could shoot a cute little bunny rabbit. This had a profound
impact on them. They even started to feel sorry for the rattlesnakes they had shot. From that day
on they made a vow not to shoot their rifles at anything but paper targets unless they were in
danger. After this, they became protectors of the wildlife in the area.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

21
The week before school started, my mate decided that we should take a trip to Las Vegas to see if
it was anything like Atlantic City. The four of us climbed into my car and started for Vegas.
Making sure that I brought my camera, I was soon taking pictures of the scenery along the way.

It took us about six hours to get to Las Vegas. Much bigger than Atlantic City, there were casinos
everywhere. While we spent the whole night there, we came to realize that this was a very fast
paced town, a place where we wouldn’t mind visiting but never one where we would want to
stay for long.

Having been awake all night, my mate and I took turns driving home, arriving by 7:00 am.
Everyone went into the house to take a nap while I took the dogs out for a walk. As we walked
around the property, I heard strange sounds coming from the desert. In fact, they sounded like
whispers. I really thought I was hearing things because I was so exhausted from not getting any
sleep. However, later that very day when I was hanging up the wet laundry, I heard these same
whispers again. I easily convinced myself that I was hearing things. Be that as it may, as the days
passed, I continued to hear these sounds from the whispering desert.

One day while I was laying out on a lawn chair catching some rays from the sun, I heard the
sounds again. This time it was more than a whisper. For the first time, the sounds were distinct
cries of people in pain. There was a light breeze that carried the cries to my ears, cries that
pierced my heart, for I actually felt the pain that came with these cries. I looked all around and
failed to see who or what was causing these sounds. The only thing I knew was that it was
coming from the land all around me.

The very next day I got a letter from my children’s Godfather. He wrote, telling me that the land
my home was built on was sacred ground. He went on to say that long before the Spanish had
come into the area, this land was a sacred corn field, used by an ancient tribe of Indians who
were a very special people. He told me that they had a special relationship with this land and
everything upon it. When the Spanish came to this area, they killed all of the native people who
lived here. He shared with me that the spirits here had been waiting for me to move in. He also
told me that he hadn’t wanted to say anything until we were settled and the spirits made their
first contact with me. He surprised me when he said that the spirits had a piece of jewelry they
would be giving to me. Also, the sisterhood would be giving me a special blessing when I was
ready. I immediately called him on the phone after reading his words. I wanted to know what he
meant by saying that “I would get a blessing when I was ready.” He laughed, telling me not to
worry as the spirits were in charge.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

22
The sound coming from the desert kept getting louder. I was now able to make out the cries of
children and women. I could feel their pain, almost as if I had been there during that massacre.
This was really beginning to bother me.

Wanting to help in some way, I wrote a letter to one of the top medicine men of the day. I
received a letter back from his wife, stating that he was on tour in Canada. His schedule was so
tightly packed that she didn’t know if he would even have time to answer my letter himself.
Sorry that she wasn’t able to help me any further, she told me to look deep within myself as the
answer just might be within me.

One of the retired couples came over to the house to introduce themselves. They had been out for
their evening walk around the settlement and thought that we would be all settled in, stopping by
to welcome us to the area. Living on the other side of the settlement, about six city blocks, or a
little over a quarter mile from our house, they had recently put their home up for sale because
they wanted to move to Washington State. They were so incredibly friendly, inviting us to come
over and swim in their pool whenever we wanted. It was hard to tell the exact distance, since
there weren’t any pavements. Theirs was a cute, little, well-kept, country-style, yellow and white
home with a nicely landscaped front yard.

My mate had been commuting to Arizona State University for two weeks. He finally shared that
the commuting was too much, that he was too tired to study. The wear and tear, not to mention
the gas, was too much on his eight cylinder car. He decided that it would be best if he secured an
apartment on campus, or not far from it, coming home on the weekends. After spending one full
day checking out apartments, he found one, a couple of blocks from campus, one that wasn’t too
expensive. The apartment was very small, with only one room, a refrigerator, a hot plate and a
storage area. There was a single bed, a dresser and one small table with two chairs. The
bathroom contained a toilet and shower. The sink was in a little vestibule near the bathroom. It
was all he needed, since most of his time would be spent on campus.

The first week of school for the children were all half day sessions. One day, as they were
walking up the road to the house, they met up with the couple who had the pool. This couple told
the children to hurry home and ask me if they could go swimming, since it was so hot out. I told
the children it would be fine as long as they both stayed together.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

23
Not long after the children left, I got a phone call from this same couple also inviting me over for
a swim. By the time I arrived, the husband had taught my son how to swim and my daughter was
still trying. She was a little afraid, so it took her longer to learn.

After our swim, while we sat around the yard tanning, the woman’s husband told us there was an
area in the desert that would be of great interest to us. There was a large bolder in the desert that
a tribe of Indians used to live under. He asked if we wanted to see it, that he would show us
where it was before they moved. I told him that we would love to see the area whenever he
wanted to take us.

Interestingly, the children had no school the next day. I got a call from this neighbor asking if we
all wanted to hike out to the boulder. I told him that we would meet him at his house within the
half hour. We changed into our hiking clothes, filled our canteens and got our hiking sticks. We
met this neighbor at the back landwash near his home that led out to the desert. It took us three
hours to get to the boulder. He said the area was called “Table Rock” because one of the huge
boulders was cut in half, much like a huge stage, altar or table. He told us that he thought the
area had been used by the Indians for their ceremonial dances. Besides this flat topped boulder
stood another boulder that was twice its size.

There was a small out cove under one side of the boulder where it met the ground and formed a
sheltered area. Beneath this boulder there must have been another boulder buried in the ground
because there were impressions in stone. The impressions were made by the grinding of corn.

As we stood there my neighbor began to tell us all about the area. It was clear that he had done
some research on it. He shared that all the area from Table Rock, all the way back to the highway
past our homes, was once inhabited by a tribe of Indians. They lived in perfect harmony with the
desert. At that time, they were the only race of people in the area. The Spaniards came looking
for the lost cities of gold and when the Indians wouldn’t tell them where the cities were, they
killed them all. Even the women and children were killed, leaving only the impressions in the
rock, along with some pictographs, as a mark of their existence. The things my children’s
Godfather had written to me were true. Now I knew why this was the whispering desert. So
much had happened here and the energy was still present. We began our hike back home before
the sun started to set.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

24
As time passed, the children became more relaxed with their new school and the different way
that things were taught in Arizona. My mate was settled in his apartment and attending classes
regularly, even becoming a part time assistant teacher for the freshmen chemistry class. Mind
you, he still had time to take his own classes and study. He came home every Friday evening,
right after his last class. The time we spent together was short, but enjoyable. Every Sunday
evening, he would head back to Tempe.

Slowly, we began to meet our neighbors, as they were very seldom out in the heat. Everyone
would wait until the sun had started to set. That is when they would take walks around the
settlement. All were elderly retired couples, except for the family down the road from us with
small children. Their oldest boy was ten years old. He had four younger brothers and one
younger sister. They were really cute children with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Their
skin had a golden hue to it. Their father was Hawaiian.

One neighbor told me a very strange story about the previous owners of our home, explaining
that the family had only been living in the house for about three months. She stated that the lot
was cleared and the double wide mobile was placed on it, about five months before we arrived.
One evening, while her husband was away at work, the mother and her two daughters fled the
house in a state of panic, running over to the woman’s home (the one who was telling me the
story) in the middle of the night, screaming and crying that they were never going back to the
house ever again.

My neighbor called the woman’s husband and told him what had happened. He left his job early
that night, came to pick his family up and took them to a hotel. The very next day he moved
everything out of the house. No one ever found out what made them so afraid of their own home.
She told me that later she heard that the family had moved from Arizona and put the house up for
sale, which is when we brought it.

This story made me wonder about the strange circles in the back yard. What if they were part of
the reason the previous family left their home? Or was something about the whispering desert
what had scared them so badly?

The days seemed to get shorter as Old Man Winter approached. My mate was on his semester
break for the Christmas holidays. My daughter spent her spare time making all kinds of
Christmas decorations to put up all around the house. This was her favorite time of the year. My
son, having met a couple of boys from Congress, spent his free time playing with them, hiking in
the desert and even camping out over night.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

25
As the holiday approached, one evening it began to snow. We all bundled up and went out and
had a snowball fight in the back yard. It seemed that in trying to move away from the cold and
snow, we had brought it with us. I had heard from a neighbor that this was the first time they had
snow in the desert since 1972. It was also the very first time it was so deep in the area. Usually
the desert got light flurries that would melt not long after the flakes hit the ground, but the
mountains and surrounding areas would be heavily laden with snow.

In the morning, although the snow started to melt, for two days traces of the white stuff
remained. The mountains stayed white for a long time. They looked like a picture postcard, so
beautiful were they to look at. Every Christmas was always a happy one, but this Christmas was
very special because we were all together, living in our very first home.

The holidays passed very quickly. Soon it was time for everyone to go back to school. My mate
packed his books and clothes, heading back to his apartment in Tempe. He hated to leave and the
children and I hated to see him go. Even though he called us every day, it was not the same as
when he was with us. When we did have time together, we tried to make the most out of it.

One sunny morning, I met another neighbor. I was in the back yard when I heard someone call
out, “Hello, anyone home?” As I walked around to the driveway at the front of the house, I saw a
man knocking on my door. He was an elderly Italian, standing no taller than 5 foot 3 inches. His
hair was black with a little grey around the edges close to his face. He had an arm full of
vegetables.

As he walked towards me, I noticed he walked bow-legged with a slight limp to one side that
was not too pronounced. He welcomed me to the area and gave me the vegetables he was
carrying. He told me that he had grown them himself. Apologizing for not welcoming me over
sooner, I learned that his wife had been ill and doesn’t come out much because her skin was so
fair.

He told me that he would like very much for me to meet his wife, thinking that I might become a
good friend to her since she stay inside so much. I told him that I would gladly walk back with
him, to meet her, after putting the vegetables away. Having nothing overly important to do that
day, I locked up my home and we left.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

26
The walk to his house was equal to about four or five large city blocks (one quarter of a mile)
from my home. The back of his house sat in a diagonal position to my own. When we arrived,
his wife was standing in the doorway waiting for him. She came outside as her husband
introduced us to each other. She was, as he had said, a very fair skinned, frail little woman. With
shoulder length dark brown hair that had been dyed, she stood no more than 5 feet tall in her
slippers. She had very small features and a petite body frame.

She was of Irish decent. Taking but one look at her, you knew this was a very delicate creature.
She spoke with a soft, but firm, voice, which allowed me to know that even though she was a
delicate little thing, she had an inner strength, enabling her to have a very strong and determined
will. She, too, welcomed me to the neighborhood.

Almost immediately, the conversation jumped to the subject of UFO’s and spirits. It was as
though neither of us had any control of what we were saying to each other. It was the strangest
thing to have ever happened to either of us. She quickly explained that she hadn’t mentioned any
of these things before to anyone that she didn’t even know. We must have known each other in a
past life. I told her the same thing as normally I don’t talk about these things to just anyone,
especially not when I’m first introduced. We stood there talking for hours.

Suddenly, I noticed the school bus coming our way. I excused myself, telling her that we would
have to get together soon and talk some more. I told her that I had to go open the door for my
children. My daughter was a diabetic and had to take her insulin on time or the doctors would
have a fit. As I walked away, I felt really good about having met her. Now I would have someone
to talk to about the whispering desert.

The next day, she called and invited me over for tea. When I got to her house, she was standing
in the door waiting for me. She welcomed me in, giving me the grand tour of her home. In fact,
she and her husband had just decided to put the house up for sale. They wanted to move to a
cooler climate, either that or go back east, because the heat was too much for them. They had
looked at a few places in Prescott, but would have to wait until they sold their own house before
they could move. In the mean time ,while they waited for a buyer, we knew we would have
plenty of time to get to know each other.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

27
As I sat at her kitchen table drinking tea, she handed me a manuscript that contained her six
years of experiences with UFO’s. Her adventures started while living in up-state Pennsylvania.
She told me about the times she went on Big Foot hunts in the mountains back east. She even
showed me a picture of a shed with a dirty window that had a face impression left on it by a Big
Foot. In another picture that she showed to me there was this strange metal object that had landed
in the yard of a friend back east. Of course, the government came and took it away right after
they were able sneak a few pictures of it.

She showed me another strange picture. It looked like an Indian in a canoe caught in a fog. She
explained that it was taken at the large hill that faced the back of my house. It was supposed to be
a picture of her and a friend standing on the hill. However, they were nowhere in the picture, just
this strange Indian. She had some mighty fascinating stories to tell about her adventures along
with the proof that they were all true.

This was a very interesting woman. In fact, she even did some automatic writing while I sat there
watching. This was my first experience with automatic writing.

The information came from her higher self, an entity who said she had known me before in
another lifetime, saying that we had been very close friends then and that we would be again in
this life.

She then showed me a scroll that had been given to her by the UFO beings. It was written in a
strange language that looked like a cross between oriental writing and Sanskrit. I asked her what
it stood for. While she didn’t know what it said, she knew it was an important message of some
kind. She shared that some day, somehow, she hoped to find its meaning.

From that day on, I spent much of my time talking with her. We talked about everything from
spirits to UFO’s, to healing and the things we would like to do to help others.

One cool April morning after the children caught the bus for school, I decided I would try to find
a way to help the poor spirits that were crying in the desert. The sounds never stopped, they only
got louder. Going into the back yard, I made a prayer circle. While I was meditating inside the
circle, all of the nature spirits appeared before me, dancing around my circle.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

28
After asking them to come into my circle of protection to gain more light and love energy,
suddenly, two nature spirits began dancing right in front of me. They were about three inches tall
and did not have a human form. One was circle shaped, with projections going around its
perimeter, projections that seemed like millions of little feet, constantly moving. The other spirit
looked like something that had been folded unevenly into threes, then immediately opened back
up. Both were clear, like plastic paper, yet full of light and life.

I was able to easily feel the abundant love that flowed from each of them. Both seemed to
shimmer in the morning sunlight. While in my prayer circle, they vibrated even brighter as they
danced around me. Placing my hands upon the ground, I could feel the pulsating life force of
Mother Earth. I was also able to feel a vibrating energy field that was filled with pain. It seemed
that every grain of sand on the ground was filled with this pain. Not just the pain of the spirits
who had died here, there was also the pain of Mother Earth, herself, for all the things that had
been done to her and her children.

I wanted to know when we would be getting rain in this area, so I asked these dancing nature
spirits . Through telepathic means, they informed me that the rains would come in about two
weeks. I also asked if I could send some healing energy to my neighbor, the one who had become
my new friend, for she had shared with me that she would like to be able to feel vibrations. I
asked if I could direct the energy that was needed so that she could have the sensation of touch –
the ability to feel the things that others felt just by touching their energy field or by touching
them.

I prayed and watched as the energy left my fingertips, only to return as a timid, crawling energy
band across the ground before returning into my hands. It was at this point that I knew the time
was not right for my neighbor to have this ability opened up to her. I lowered my head and gave
thanks for all my blessings, including the health, safety and life of my loved ones.

The next morning was a bit chiller, so I was well dressed with my army field jacket and hat. I sat
in my prayer circle facing the rising sun, my back to the area of the desert where the cries were
coming from. I prayed for the inner guidance I needed to help these spirits find peace. Suddenly,
a young Indian boy came out of the desert. Even though my back was facing him, I was
somehow able to see his every move, as if I had eyes in the back of my head.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

29
The boy started running towards me while screaming in anger. I couldn’t move! It seemed as
though a force was holding every one of my muscles still, so I continued to pray motionless as
the boy got closer. The boy was really wild looking. His pretty dark brown hair was unkempt,
full of dirt and twigs, with no sign of ever being cleaned, cut or combed.

With a small piece of rabbit hide covering his private parts, the rest of him was bare except for
the bark of a tree that he had tied with vines to the bottom of his feet for protection. He appeared
to be about 11 years old. Carrying a large wooden club in his hands, I knew that he was about to
hit me with it. As he came upon me, with his hands still joined to his weapon, he swung a heavy
blow, coming down as hard as he could upon my head. The blow was blocked by a domed
shaped energy field that somehow rose up from my prayer circle, covering me and acting as a
shield.

I began to think about the way I was dressed. With my long hair pushed up into my cap, from the
back I must have looked like a man to this boy. He was very puzzled by the fact that he had been
unable to administer his fatal blow upon me. He walked slowly around to face me, with weapon
raised ready. For the first time since this vision had begun, I was able to move.

Instinctively, I looked up at the boy. I took off my hat, letting my hair fall loosely around my
shoulders and down my back. The boy dropped to his knees, crying, with his hands held out to
me. Then, without any warning, he disappeared.

Tears were streaming down my face as I felt a deep need to hold that little boy, who was now
gone. There was a part of me that seemed to know this boy, and it was that part that was hurting
so badly now, a hurt that was so unbelievably strong!

There were no words to explain how I was feeling after that little boy left. There is also no way I
can truly clarify what actually happened, in my prayer circle, that day. I only knew that deep
within, some emotions were stirred up by my having seen him. I felt a void, as though part of me
had departed, when he disappeared.

The next morning, as usual, after the children were off to school, I went into the back yard. I
made my prayer circle to start the new day. After a few minutes of quiet meditation, the nature
spirits appeared. They entered in my circle, receiving the light and love they needed, before
leaving. I lowered my head to say some prayers, hoping to see the little wild Indian boy again.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

30
I heard someone walking towards me. Looking up, I saw the legs of a fully clothed person. As I
raised my head all the way up, my gaze, this time, fell upon a mountain man, one who looked as
though he had just jumped out of the history books. He had a long, salt and pepper colored
mustache and a beard, with shoulder length, dark brown hair that had a natural curl to it. Looking
as though he was in his late forties, his clothing was made from the hide of dead animals, mostly
deer and rabbit. He wore the most beautifully beaded Indian desert boots on his feet, boots that
were also made from animal hides.

Laying down on the ground in front of me, about 20 feet away, he used his right hand to prop up
his head as he said the word, “Ello” in a strong voice with a strange accent. It almost sounded
French with a mixture of something else. Then he said, “Ze boy will not return.” I responded
with, “How do you know about the boy and who are you?” He smiled and said, “Pardon me! I
am Jacques Pierre.”

Telling him that I was glad to make his acquaintance, I still wanted to know why he was here.
What did he want? How did he know about the little boy? He told me that he had heard my
prayers and came to give me my answers. I explained to him that I was wanting to bring peace to
the people who had suffered and died here. I especially wanted to help that little boy.

While I heard about the Spaniards that came to this area, Jacques was different. He was a
mountain man with what sounded like a French accent. Able to read my thoughts, he began
telling me that he had been with a group of French monks that lived in the north. He left them to
do some trapping and hunting. This brought him to this area where he made friends with the
natives and so he stayed here. As he told me his story, my mind began to wonder as thoughts of
the little boy, once again, filled my interest. Like before, Jacques read my mind as he told me that
the boy had been the only survivor of the massacre that took place in this area. Now he had my
full attention.

As he began to tell the story, a mist seemed to form behind him. As he continued to talk, the
whole story seemed to come to life, like a movie, behind him. Somehow time stopped and the
events of the past were able to mingle with the present, enabling me to experience what actually
happened to the people of this land.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

31
I watched the Spaniards as they started killing the natives. There was a pregnant woman with a
little boy who looked no more than three or four years old. The woman told the boy to run and
hide in the corn field. I couldn’t make out their faces because they were too far away. The small
boy ran and hid in the corn field while his mother, turning to help an elderly woman, suffered the
fate of a Spanish sword going through her heart.

I heard a loud cry and saw a man dressed like Jacques stab the Spaniard. He quickly ran to the
woman who was laying in a pool of her own blood, next to the body of the old woman. As the
man held the dead woman in his arms, crying, another Spaniard drove a sword through his back.
It was at that exact moment that I felt as though something had hit me really hard on the back. I
felt a sharp pain. That is when I knew that the mountain man I was watching in the slaughter was
Jacques. The woman in his arms was his wife. As tears filled my eyes, I watched the whole
village perish, the earth filling up with their blood.

The little boy in the corn field was the only one left alive after the Spaniards left the area. The
mist rose as the vision passed. I looked at Jacques with tears pouring down my face, asking him
if he was the boy’s father. He replied that he was, telling me that the boy’s name was Pierre Two
Shoes. Jacques’s smiling face had turned to that of sadness, while his eyes filled with tears. I
wanted so much to comfort him, but found myself unable to leave my prayer circle. Once again,
I was encased in an energy field.

I asked Jacques if there was a meaning to why the boy’s name was Pierre Two Shoes. His voice
seemed to be much lower and filled with sadness as he explained, saying that at the time of his
joining with his wife, he had but two pair of shoes to offer for her hand in marriage. He gave the
boy the name Pierre, taking from his own last name, and Two Shoes as honor and protection, a
symbol of the gifts given for his mother’s hand.

I asked Jacques to tell me what his wife’s first name would have been in English. He replied that
her name meant Morning Star. She was a very gentle woman who taught him about the ways of
her people and how to become one with the universe. I asked him why the boy had tried to harm
me. Jacques told me that the poor boy had lived alone, finally dying of loneliness and starvation.
His spirit now walked the land, protecting it from invaders, which is why the area of Congress
became a ghost town more than once.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

32
Apparently, the boy thought that I was one of the Spaniards, returning. I asked Jacques why the
boy had cried and held his hands out to me. Why did he disappear? Why won’t he come back?

Interestingly enough, as I asked these very questions my heart seemed to already know the
answers. Jacques had tears in his eyes as he looked at me. He said, “You have brought peace to
his tormented soul, and to the souls of this land who have cried out for your help”. I wanted to
know how I had brought this about because I didn’t recall doing anything.

His eyes were now overflowing with tears. His voice shook as he looked at me and said that I
looked exactly like the boy’s mother. Jacques continued to say that when I shared my light and
love with the spirits in this area, I was helping to bring love and peace. This is also what enabled
the boy to move on to the next level.

Jacques stood up and said, “Ze wind is changing. I will have to leave soon”. I quickly asked him
to tell me about the lost cities of gold before he had to leave. I wanted to know if they really
existed.

He explained that the Indians always talked about the Ancient Ones who lived in the City of
Lights. They were the protectors of all life. The translation of the City of Lights from their Indian
language into the Spanish language had no real translation, so it was translated into Cities of
Gold. In essence, the Spaniards had been looking for the wrong thing. He smiled, telling me that
there are seven cities of the Old Ones that, like hidden gardens, are spread all over the planet. He
said they work with light.

Looking to his right side and smelling the air, he announced that it was time for him to go, as the
wind had surely changed. As he began to walk back into the desert, he turned and said, “Zank
you, my love, for Ze help. Please continue to share your love and light in prayer for we shall
meet again some day.” Then he disappeared.

The next morning, while facing the east in my prayer circle, I watched the sun coming over the
mountain as it peeked through a cloud. I began to pray to the spirits that guide me, asking them
for the help I now needed to bring a final peace to the area where the cries came from.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

33
They replied that I would have to continue to pray with love. That, as I did, I was to share my
light, as these souls had carried much sorrow with them, sorrow that also entered into the soil
with their blood.

They said that they had been waiting for someone to come to share their pain and sorrow. I
explained that having felt the pain that vibrated from the land, I now knew of its sorrows. I was
told that while they knew this, I was not to share the anger that had also entered the land. It
would be that in the sharing of my love and light, that the sadness would leave the land. The
spirits would then be able to move onto their next levels.

They said, “Now go in peace and record what we have told you. There will come a time when
you will need to recall these events.”

Looking up at the clouds, I asked if these clouds would bring rain to the area that day. They
reminded me that they had promised we would get rain within the next two weeks, but not today.
Two weeks later, as if right on cue, we got the much promised rain.

One morning after meditation, I let the dogs out of the house to get some air. As I walked around
the yard with the dogs, I heard a flapping sound in the air. I looked up and saw two beautiful
hawks. They circled over my head, then flew over the area where the third circle in the ground
was situated, near the wooden shed. They kept circling in that area, almost as if they were trying
to let me know something was there. I went over to see if there might be something dead on the
ground because I didn’t want the dogs to get at anything like that.

To my complete surprise, there on the ground, inside the third circle, was a necklace with one
clay stone in the middle, with a bird carved on two sides of it, and two wooden beads. The beads
were threaded with cord that looked like it was made from something similar to corn silk, but
only tougher. I picked up the necklace and looked up at the hawks, who circled one final time
before flying back to the mountains.

Looking at the necklace, I immediately wondered if it was the jewelry piece that my children’s
Godfather had written me about. I called him to let him know what happened. He told me that
the two hawks were actually two spirits that watch over me. Yes, the necklace was the gift he had
written about. The two carved birds on the stone were the two spirits of the hawks.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

34
These hawks were special friends to me. I knew they were the spirits of the Ancient race of
Indians who had once lived in this area and had come to help me while I lived in this house. The
post office was located in the heart of Congress, about two miles up the highway from where we
lived. As I walked the highway to the post office, daily, one of the hawks would always fly
before me. He would rest upon one telephone pole, until I came near it, before flying to the next
one.

On this one particular day, Brother hawk started circling instead of flying to the next pole. As I
arrived at to the area where he was circling, I spotted a two foot long rattlesnake bathing in the
sun. The snake blinked, sticking out his tongue, as I walked by. I looked up at Brother hawk and
thanked him for the warning. Then I watched him fly to the next telephone pole.

Brother hawk would always wait for me on a pole across the highway from the post office, while
I picked up my mail. He made the trip back down the road the same way. From pole to pole,
Brother hawk flew as my special protector, my eyes in the sky. On another occasion, while
coming home from the post office, Brother hawk circled, warning me about a gila monster that
was making its way up the road. Days later, he warned me about a snake that had blended in with
the tall weeds in the area. The snake was motionless as he lay in wait for someone to come his
way. I never had to worry about anything when I walked the highway, for Brother hawk was
always there looking out for me.

One day in particular sticks out in my mind. As I walked the highway, Brother hawk was flying
from post to post as per usual. Halfway up the road, I looked for him on the pole. There on top of
the pole sat two hawks. I didn’t know where the other one had come from. They didn’t fly off as
I got to the pole, so I knew something was going to happen.

I stopped walking, for at that very moment I couldn’t hear any sounds, not even the blowing
wind. There, coming across the road no more than a few feet in front of me, was a large silver
wolf. He was big and beautiful. He looked at me with a look of friendliness as he ran across the
road. As he got to the side of the road where I was standing, he ran into the desert and
disappeared. With a bob-wire fence that ran along this area, it seemed as though he had just made
one huge leap, running right through the fence. As far as I knew, there were no wolves in the
area, just coyotes, so he must have been another spirit of the land.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

35
Another time, I was walking my dog down the highway and a female coyote appeared in the
middle of the road. She stood there for the longest time, not making a sound, just watching as my
dog and I got closer. The strangest part of this was that my big Labrador mastiff did not pull
away to go check the coyote out. Instead, for the first time, he walked directly by my side, much
like a guardian. As we approached the coyote, she walked slowly to the other side of the road.
Turning to look at us one more time, she ran off and disappeared into the desert. After arriving
back at the house, I opened the back door. A rattlesnake was looking back at me. No more than a
foot or two long, it was laying flush with the metal trim that went up the inside of the door.

I backed off and held my dog tight, telling the snake to either go into the house or get out of the
way so I could go in. It was as though the snake understood what I had said, because he turned
and made his way back down the steps, slithering off along the dry sandy ground. As he left, I
thanked him for letting us pass unharmed.

The very next day, I was sitting in a lawn chair outside at the front of the house, waiting for the
children to come home from school. I had fallen asleep in the warm afternoon sun. As my
children approached the area, they began screaming, which woke me up. There, beneath me and
wrapped around my legs, was a very long rattlesnake taking a nap along with me. I told the
children not to come near. I looked down at the snake and said, “Brother snake, I need to get up,
so can you please let me pass. I promise to bring you no harm.” The snake uncoiled itself from
around my legs and crawled back off into the desert.

This area of Arizona was filled with many kinds of animals. All seemed as though they were
beginning to have a special link with me. The coyotes seemed to sing me to sleep at night and
wake me, like an alarm, in the morning. I even got to know the two stubborn vultures who
enjoyed blocking the highway while they ate a snake that had gotten run over by a passing
vehicle.

Now that I have moved to the city, I can say that I really do miss the creatures of the desert and
the sounds they made. There is a longing in my heart to be near the wild life. Eventually, when
my husband retires, we will live in the wilderness where we can live naturally and be close to the
animals once again.

Chapter Three
Desert Lights
One day my neighbor came over to my house with a friend of hers from Yarnell. After we talked
for a while, we went outside where I began to tell them about the whispering desert and the spirit
visitors I had met. They wanted to know where I heard the whispers, so I took them around to the
southwest side of the house and pointed to the desert area.

Suddenly, as we stood there talking, two large grey domes appeared in the desert. Although the
domes were very far away, I could clearly see gray buildings inside of them. The vision didn’t
stay long, it was less than a minute before it started vibrating. As we continued to watch, the
domed cities vibrated and disappeared.

I was finding it hard to believe that only two of us, my neighbor’s friend and I, actually saw the
vision of the domed cities. The three of us decided that we should have a sitting. We wanted to
find out more about this area we lived in. M y neighbor wanted to have it at her house and all
was agreed that her house would be the perfect place. We planned on having our session at 6:00
pm that very evening.

Later that evening, I told my children what my friends and I had planned. Both told me that they
felt they had to be there as well, so I called my neighbor and stated that if she didn’t mind I
would be bringing my children along because they felt the need to be there during the session.
She agreed that it would be most helpful if the children’s energies were added. What she didn’t
know was that my children had been introduced to the spirit world when they were just babies.

Everyone arrived a little before the appointed time. We sat ourselves around the kitchen table for
the session. My son sat to my neighbor’s left, her friend sat to her right and I sat to her left. My
daughter was sitting to my left, back on to my son. The room was dimly lit with a scented candle
burning in the middle of the table. We began by saying a prayer before asking if we could learn
more about the area.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

37
Suddenly, I heard the sound of heavenly voices singing in the distance, a sound that got closer
and closer until it seemed like it was coming from the wall directly behind the young woman and
myself.

I kept turning my head towards the sound as it got closer. My neighbor asked me what I was
looking for. I turned back around in my seat and said that I was trying to find out where the
singing was coming from and who was doing it. The young woman responded by saying that she
had heard the singing as well, thinking that my neighbor’s husband was playing music in the
other room. He was not.

The weird thing was that both of our voices seemed to echo as we talked about the singing. We
asked if anyone else could hear the singing. Each in turn said that they were unable to hear the
singing. It was also strange that none of their voices seemed to echo as they answered. Yet, every
time the young woman and I said something there was an echo.

We seemed to be caught up in some kind of vortex that was affecting only the two of us. Now the
singing seemed to be all around us. At that very moment, a light flashed from the wall behind us.
As I watched, a man, wearing a long gold cape that looked like it had tiny stars blinking all over
it, walked through the wall. He was wearing some kind of strange headdress that was blinking,
all lit up like a beautiful Christmas tree.

With black hair and golden brown skin, he was carrying a gold box in his hands. As I continued
to watch, he passed right through my body, as if I wasn’t there. He turned to hand the box to my
daughter, and as he did so, she screamed. As soon as she screamed, the man disappeared. We
asked my daughter if she was alright. Wanting to know what had made her scream, she said that
she had felt a hand as well as something cold touch her hands.

I explained about the man. Since I was the only one who could see him, I also told her that he
had been trying to give her a golden box. Having departed with her screams, so, too, was the box
and its secrets gone. No one was able to understand what this session was all about.

At that moment, my son said that he saw an old, wicked looking, woman walk into the young
woman. The spirit so upset my son to the point that he began yelling, “Get out of her now! I said,
get out of her!” With that, the spirit left the woman’s body.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

38
Suddenly, it got extremely cold in the room and the candle went out. My neighbor turned on
another light and everything was silent. We were all trying to figure out what had happened,
completely puzzled about the whole session.

After that night, interestingly enough, there was never another opportunity for all of us to be
together at one time.

One day the young woman brought one of her sons down to Congress to meet me. I was
instructed by the spirits that walked with this boy to take him into the back yard. I made a prayer
circle for both of us to sit in. While sitting inside the circle, a series of messages were given
through me for the boy. As this was taking place, a hawk came and sat on the fence directly
behind the boy.

The strange part of this event was that both my neighbor and the boy’s mother were present, but
felt uncomfortable. They both got up and walked to another part of the yard. Even though they
were still close enough to hear, they later told me that the whole session was one of complete of
silence. It seems as though the boy and I were communicating telepathically. After this, my new
friends kept in contact with me on a daily basis. We even made a few trips together to Yarnell
(their home) and Phoenix.

One March evening, just before the sun started to set, I heard a strange humming sound. What
made the sound so strange was that I heard the sound inside my head, but not with my ears.
When I went into the living room, the sound got louder. I looked over at the side dining room
window where the sound seemed to be pulling me.

There, out in the sky about the desert, was a large white object. I called out to my children to
come and see the object. As we watched, three small red objects also appeared in the sky. I
quickly ran to the phone to call my neighbor, sharing with her the direction in the sky to look in
order to see the objects.

My children were really excited about what they were seeing. To them, it appeared as though the
red objects were chasing the large white object. My children started screaming directions to the
white object in the sky

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

39
My neighbor called me back and said that she couldn’t see anything. I asked her if she was
looking in the right direction. She said that both she and her husband were looking where I had
directed them to look, but were unable to see anything at all. I quickly suggested that they should
come over to my house, and quickly, before the objects had left.

Returning to the window, together we watched as the larger white object shot off to the north.
The three smaller red objects remained. My neighbor and her husband arrived by car as fast as
they could. As soon as I opened the front door, they wanted to know where these objects were.

I told them that the white object had already left, but pointed up at the three remaining red
objects. They both stood there with their mouths open. The objects seemed to know we were
watching because it looked as though they were doing tricks in the sky just for our benefit. They
were making impossible turns at great speeds. Then, as we watched, the three red objects joined
to form one big red object in the sk before shooting off to the southwest and out of sight. It
moved so fast that within the blink of an eye it was gone.

The next day when my children came home from school, they were both excited about
something that had happened, trying to talk at the same time and making no sense at all. As I
quieted them down, my daughter began the story while my son finished it.

They told me that a girl at school was telling everyone that the night before, she and her family
were driving down the highway when a big red object came out of the sky and zoomed past
them. Then it disappeared. They mentioned that there were two other children who had also seen
the red objects in the sky. I asked my children if they had told anyone about what they had seen
that night. They both replied at the same time, “No way!” They also shared that the other
children at school were making fun of the children who did say what they saw.

A few nights later, I heard that same humming in my head again. It was late and everyone was
fast asleep. I left the lights off as I went out into the kitchen, because I didn’t want to awaken
anyone. As I stood there in the dark, an object rose up from the ground, not too far from the
house. I went to the dining room window to watch the object as it rose up. It shone a bright pale
blue light on me and for a few minutes I couldn’t move. Then the object shot up into the sky and
was gone.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

40
The next evening, right after the sun had set, the humming in my head started again. I was at the
kitchen sink rinsing out a glass when I looked out the window. Far out in the desert appeared an
object with blinking lights. The lights were blue and white. I stood there watching the lights
blink for more than a half hour. They seemed to be blinking in some kind of code.

The following night the lights on the desert didn’t appear, but on the third, the humming started
again. I went to the kitchen window and there, out on the desert, was the object with blue and
white lights again. This time I went outside, sitting on the steps to watch the lights. I watched
them from 6:30 pm until 11:45 pm, when I got tired and had to go to bed. The lights blinked
continuously in the following sequence: 9, 7, 4, 8, 6 then 4.

The following day, while in my prayer circle, I asked the spirits about the lights in the desert. I
wanted to know why they appeared suddenly out of nowhere. It took a while, but I finally got my
answer. I was told that they were repairing. I asked them what they were repairing and the reply
came as “Yes we are repairing, now go in peace.”

I asked who the man was in the lights, the one who carried the gold box at the session we had at
my neighbor’s home a while back. The answer received was, “The man’s name is Onula.” Of
course, I wanted to know more about him, but the only answer I got was “Ba Chiqua! Now go in
peace.” Clearly, they were wanting to get rid of me before I asked any more questions.

Later on that same day I went over to my neighbor’s house, telling her about the lights in the
desert. I also shared with her the answers I had received from my morning meditation. I asked
her if she knew what “Ba Chiqua” meant and she said that she didn’t. We decided to look
through some of her books to see if we could come up with anything that was close to the way it
was sounding. Maybe I was not spelling it right, although I spelled it the way it sounded. We
never did find anything that came close to it.

My neighbor asked me if she could come over to my home that evening and get a reading from
me. While I couldn’t promise her anything, I told her that I would see her later. Upon leaving her
house, I saw a huge grey building where my house stood. I tried to walk as fast as I could
because I wanted to get to that area while I was still seeing the building. It looked as though it
were about ten stories high, but it vanished before I got a chance to get close enough to make out
the full details.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

41
That evening, my neighbor was knocking at my door. We were both hoping that something
spiritual might happen, something that would help us understand this area that we lived in. We
were both sitting on the sofa when the room suddenly filled with spirits. M y dog started barking
and didn’t want to stop. It seemed that as they entered the room, the vibrational sound that came
with them bothered him immensely. It was at that point that the spirits called to me to go inside.

When I came back into my physical body once again, I was on the floor. My neighbor said that
as the spirits entered me, I climbed down and sat on the floor. While this was happening, my dog
thought I was being hurt. She said that he hurriedly came over to where I was on the floor. I had
been sitting in a very small spot on the floor, a very tight squeeze between the sofa and the coffee
table. She told me that I put my hand up in front of the dog, as if telling him to stop. My mouth
was moving, but she couldn’t hear a thing.

The dog stopped barking, then walked backwards out from behind the coffee table without
knocking anything over. For a dog of his size, this would have been an extremely difficult
maneuver. He went over to the throw rug at the door and lay down. Within one minute, he was
fast asleep, almost as if he had been drugged.

The spirits gave her the information she wanted. After this, the spirits told her to give me a piece
of paper and pencil. They used my hand to write, “Onula the time for sharing.” Then they wrote
some strange symbols and finished with the word “Chiqua.”

The following day I meditated in the house because I was expecting an important phone call.
What follows here is a copy, word for word, of the meditation that took place on April 3, 1984.

Q. Anyone there?
A. Just write.

After getting a pen and paper the following was written.

Q. Who am I communicating with?

A. Just write.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

42
Q. What do the symbols on the paper mean?
A. They are predictions of what is yet to come. Changes that will occur within the earth.
There is a warning for humankind. Those who do not heed the warning are sure to perish.

Already you see some of the changes that are going to happen, like Hawaii then next Japan.
There are 7 signs within the earth that are given as warning devices and safety signs. Humans, in
their quest for knowledge, are about 7 steps away from the door.

Tell your neighbor she must not always look for great things to happen. She must meditate with
an open mind and let things come to her slowly for she is but a young student in the arms of the
great Masters. Seven Masters are watching her growth. She knows there will come a time for
great joy, but she must take this time to slowly develop the inner mind as well as the inner eye of
light. She will be tested by each Master in their own way and in given time during her 7 stages of
development.

That which is on the scroll will be revealed to her but what is important now is the awareness of
self growth through the cosmos. Give her that which we tell you to give her for those are the
things she must know for her growth.

Stimulate the senses through the morning meditation directing the sensation to her so she may
learn the senses as you know them. Don’t be annoyed with her impatience. She is but a babe
crying out in the wilderness. She is eager to learn yet afraid to fall. She must overcome her
deeply imbedded sense of pride for it is a stumbling block that holds her back.

It is good that she wants to help others, but right now time has been given to her for her own
development. Her own self help. You must inform her that this time is precious time not to be
wasted if she wants to learn. We have given her time for quiet learning.

This is valuable to her development. You must stress this to her. Time must not be wasted or we
will go on to another. You must point this out to her. We are here to help guide her development,
but only if she helps herself.

Give these writings to her for her friend in Georgia. They drew some more strange symbols on
the paper. Go in peace my child for the light is with you. Give that which we have written and we
will await your next audience. Peace be to you.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

43
I was not familiar with who was giving me the messages. I got the strong feeling that they were
not spirits in another world. It was more like they were in this world, but different. It’s kind of
hard to explain.

I gave the message to my neighbor and she said she understood what they meant. This was the
first time a total session with the spirits was captured on paper for me as a record of it actually
happening.

I also gave my neighbor the strange symbols for her friend in Georgia. A week later my neighbor
got a letter back from her friend in Georgia. It stated that the symbols were an ancient Indian
language and that he understood what it meant. The message was for him so I never did find out
what the symbols meant.

The spirits had made sure the symbols were written on a separate piece of paper. I never thought
to try and copy them. Instead, I gave the paper to my neighbor and she mailed it.

The next four days I didn’t get to meditate. I was busy working on writing an herbal book, then
the weekend came. My weekends were devoted to my mate, as that was the only time we had
together.

Chapter Four
A Special Blessing
One Monday, while meditating in my prayer circle, the following message was given. “We come
to give a message for your neighbor and all who wish to hear. There is a force coming into
existence which is coiled up like a snake ready to pounce on its prey, but once it reaches the
surface it will uncoil and stretch itself around the earth like a crushing band. This will cause total
destruction. We who are the helpers and keeper of your planet ask for your help. Tell all to join in
love. Everywhere you go, stamp out the hatred and anger you see growing. Replace it with love.
Show love to all and ask others to do the same. In doing this, we will be able to control the force
before it has a chance to uncoil. Your neighbor will become a world renowned author through
several books she is writing, but her best one will be about the child seer. She is to know the
danger that comes with such fame. Now look and listen to that which is now around you and go
in peace.”

Just then a flock of birds landed on the cactus behind me. They began to sing while all of the
nature spirits danced around me.

I gave my neighbor the information and she asked if I would be meditating the following
morning. I told her that I try to meditate every morning. She asked if I could help her meditate. I
told her that I didn’t know how I could, however, if she wanted to be outside the same time I
was, I would sit in my prayer circle facing her house. I would ask the spirits to help with her
meditation. I didn’t know if this would help, but it would be worth the try.

The next day I did as I said I would. Then a voice distinctly said, “She is not there.” I replied that
she would be out soon, but the voice answered back, “No she is not there, turn and face the east.
Now!”

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

I got up and turned to face the east, taking my medicine pipe and placing it in the circle with me.
As I laid it down in front of me, the feathers on the stem fell in the shape of a cross on the cloth
on the ground. Suddenly, all the clouds in the sky parted and the sun came up over the mountain,
shining brightly down on me. A pink mist came up from the ground all around me.

Suddenly, I found myself naked, sitting on some sort of golden pad or mat. As I continued to sit
in a lotus position, two women came towards me. Their dress was a cross between Japanese and
Hopi (even their hair style was a cross culture blend). They had, in their hands, long golden
spoon-like utensils with brushes on the ends of them. They started bathing me with them,
dipping them down on the mat and then pouring a tingling warm substance over me. I thought it
might be water, but it was not wet. I looked down and saw that they were bathing me with the
rays from the sun.

It as an incredible feeling, being bathed with liquid sunshine. When they were finished, they
departed, only to return with a gold tray-like object which was placed behind my neck. My long
hair was laid loosely on the tray. One of the women took a golden bottle and began pouring a
sweet smelling oil over my head. She worked it into my hair, the oil turning my hair a shiny dark
brown. The other woman took a white hair brush, with gold designs on the back, and began
bushing my hair. As they finished this task, they departed yet again, only to return once more
with several items that peaked my interest.

One was carrying a beautiful cape. The other carried a folded gold blanket. The cape was snow
white, embroidered all over with gold roses, so much so that they shimmered like tiny lights or
diamonds. She wrapped the cape around me while the other woman placed the golden blanket in
my hands. I was now fully covered from the neck down.

Suddenly, I heard a swooping noise overhead. The women walked to the right and left sides of
the mat that I was sitting on. Looking up, I saw a flock of birds of all kinds flying overhead with
a large white sheer cloth. When they were situated, in flight, directly over the top of my head,
they let go of the cloth. It covered me like a huge veil. I was now completely covered.

At that very moment, two beautiful small white birds appeared, building a golden nest in the
middle of the blanket that I was still holding. They sat in the nest and looked at me. Just then,
two black and yellow birds flew past my head, almost hitting me. With that, the whole vision
vanished and everything was normal again.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

46
I left my prayer circle, running over to my neighbor’s to tell her what had happened. She greeted
me at the door, telling me that the spirits made her go inside her house to meditate. They did not
want her meditating outside as we had previously discussed. She told me that she saw a pink
mist, then the voice told her to go inside. She suddenly became very ill when she hesitated, so
she had to go lie down for a while. I told her we would try again the following morning. Then I
told her what happened to me.

The next morning I knew my neighbor wasn’t meditating. I just had a strong feeling she wasn’t
there. I asked the spirits what I should do. I got up and faced the east, just as I had done the day
before. Suddenly everything became very still. It was as though all sound had ceased, either that
or I had just became deaf.

It was at that very moment that I found myself on the same gold mat from the day before, only
this time dressed all in white. I was floating in a white mist. Just above the mist, the area was
pinkish in color. A clear and distinct voice said, “Don’t move for you are between dimensions
and we don’t want you to be harmed in any way. Please be perfectly still while we speak with
you here. The outfit you now have on will become an emblem for you in the future. The shirt
will be made of white cotton and embroidered in gold at the neckline. The pants will have a
drawstring and it, too, will be made from white cotton material. On your feet will be sandals for
you must be close to the earth as much as you can. You will also wear white cotton dresses from
time to time, but always wear shorts under them in case we take charge of the body. When you
go to your friends’ homes you will sit on the floor, for you will need to maintain your connection
with the earth’s vibrations. This will help you to maintain the perfect balance of energy. Your
neighbor will be taken to the next level of learning for her because she does not have many years
left. She will, in the future, wear only blue and white cotton clothing until she passes on. You
will understand the meaning for these things when the time is right, for at that time you will be
living in a place more open and close to nature. Now go in peace.” Suddenly the mist was gone
and I was dressed in my old jeans again.

That evening I had a visit from a strange spirit. From the clothing she was wearing, she looked to
be a cross between an ancient Egyptian and an Indian. I strongly felt as though I had met her
before. Wearing a long white robe with gold border, situated on her head was a white ancient
Egyptian style headdress. I quickly glanced down at myself, only to discover that I, too, was also
dressed in the same type of robe.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

47
All of a sudden, a long table appeared in the middle of my living room, a table that appeared to
be made out of something that looked like white marble. The lady instructed me to come over to
lie down on the table. She covered my hair with a white scarf that fell to the sides of my head,
much like an ancient Egyptian headdress. I looked up at her and she told me to relax.

She was holding an object, shaped like a small pyramid, that was crystal in color. Somehow she
managed to place the object inside my forehead. I didn’t experience any pain when she did this.
There was, however, a strange tingling sensation that went deep into my head. The object had
became a part of me.

Helping me to sit up, she then showed me a gold pyramid with a key-like object floating in the
middle of it. There was a circle around the object that somehow spun. She told me that it was a
communication device. Pointing to it, she said that someday my son would make this device.
Then she pointed to my right. I saw some strange shapes that were full of light and color, yet all
were different. They each vibrated and moved at different speeds. The woman informed me that
these were the doors to the different dimensions that everyone must pass through on their way
back to the Creator. She smiled at me and said, “Walk within love and light, peace be with you
always.” With that phrase she was gone and everything in my home was back to normal.

My neighbor had another friend whom she introduced me to. A a dear lady in her early seventies,
she was an artist who spent most of her time painting. She also loved working on her genealogy.
We became even closer friends than my neighbor. I felt very relaxed around her, as if I had
known her all my life. She, too, said she felt the same way about me, so I’m sure that we had
shared many past lives together. Weighing about 100 pounds and standing at 5 foot 6 inches tall,
she limped to one side because one leg was shorter than the other. She was a small framed lady
with brown eyes and brown hair that was starting to turn grey in the front.

From then on, I spent at least one day a week with her, talking and getting to know her better.
This is when I found out that she was also able to do automatic writing. What made it even more
interesting was that she came from a family whose parents and grandparents engaged in
automatic writing.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

48
Later, both my neighbor and this elderly female artist introduced me to a Hopi friend of theirs.
He was in his early thirties, small but built with strong Indian features. As they introduced us I
witnessed a spirit walk out of his body, smile at me and then go back inside of him. The spirit did
this every time I saw this man until I finally broke down, telling him what I had seen.

This Indian spirit resembled him somewhat, but his hair was longer and his skin a much darker
brown. He wore a star shaped headdress on his head, and held a shield in one hand. He was
dressed in the traditional Kachina type skirt. The young man told me that what I saw was an
ancient star priest. After drawing a picture of the spirit, it never appeared again.

At first the young man was afraid of me, as he thought I was a witch from another tribe. This was
because I had been able to see that spirit. My neighbor sensed the uneasiness in our meeting so
she invited both of us to a special luncheon at her home. This was to help us get further
acquainted so as to dispel his fears about me.

While there, the spirits showed me his mother, telling me her name in English. I shared the name
and asked if he knew anyone with that name. He replied that he didn’t, but before the meal ended
he startled me by saying, “I’m sorry, I do know someone with that name.” I replied that I was
sure he did because she had been standing beside him the whole time. He told me that by my
saying the name in English, it threw him off. Later, he remembered that the English translation of
his mother’s’ name was what I had said it was.

From that day on he became my Hopi little brother and good friend. Every Wednesday he would
come to Congress and have lunch with the little elderly lady and me. When the three of us got
together, the spirits always had a lot of information to give.

One time after we had eaten our lunch, the spirits showed me a vision of him sitting on a cliff
with a beautiful blanket wrapped around him. This blanket had a strange design on it. I later drew
the design on a piece of paper for him. He turned to me, saying that the design was like a map.
He said that it was the route the Kachina dancers took when they entered his village. This was
very surprising to both of us, due to the fact that I had not yet been to the reservation when I
drew the design.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

49
The last weekend in May, my new brother, my neighbor and her husband, took me up to the
reservation to watch the Kachina dancers. It was an extremely hot day. My brother’s family were
very warm and friendly people. He explained the meaning of the dances to us, especially when
the clown Kachina showed up. Later that day, taking my brother home, we met his father. We
talked all the way back to Congress.

My Hopi brother and I continued to have our weekly sessions until I moved to Phoenix. There
was one session that he was late showing up for. When he arrived at the home of our elderly lady
friend, he reached out his hand to greet me. As soon as his hand touched mine, a rainbow energy
field appeared. We were more than surprised, we were shocked. Even the elderly lady saw the
rainbow.

He was the one that helped me get over being hugged, for he would grab my hand and pull me
close for a big bear hug. He was a good person, full of loving energy, but also sad and lonely for
the mother that walked in the spirit world.

There was another time as we sat at the little elderly lady’s table. I saw myself sitting beside a
camp fire on top of a cliff. Near the edge of the cliff, about ten yards away from me, sat my Hopi
brother. He was wrapped in the same blanket I had seen in the previous session.

As I watched him sitting in quiet meditation, he began to float up and backward off the cliff.
While he continued floating in the air, one by one, different Kachinas appeared in a semi-circle
on the cliff. There were five male and two female Kachinas. The two women were standing at
both ends of the semi-circle.

I watched as each Kachina stepped forward to present a gift to my brother. All of the Kachinas
came forward except the two women. The women knelt down, placing their gifts on the ground.
One was a bowl of tobacco and the other a bowl of cornmeal. While I watched, I heard the sound
of a large bird. I don’t know how, but I was now in three places at once. I was sitting with my
friends in the kitchen telling them what I was watching. I was also sitting on the cliff by the fire
watching the Kachinas and my brother. Now I was a large white Thunderbird flying in the sky
watching the vision from the air.

The little elderly lady was busy writing down everything that I was saying. I described all the
Kachinas, from the outfits they were wearing, down to the objects they handed to my brother.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

50
After the vision ended, my brother told me that I had seen the ancient Kachinas. The objects that
I described were ancient symbols that had been lost to his people ever since his great grandfather
destroyed everything after becoming a Mormon. He told me that the cliff I described was
Pumpkinseed Point, one which overlooked his mother’s village. He told me that some day he
would show it to me.

Later that night I thought about the session. How could I have been in three places at once, while
being fully aware of all three? I suddenly recalled my grandmother teaching my older brother
and I how to become one with the spirits of the birds. We had been able to fly within the body of
the birds that were flying overhead while watching from the ground. That was when we were
able to be in two places at one time.

I was also able to recall a time when I was about eleven years old. I would take out the atlas
whenever I wanted to get away from the place I lived. I would close my eyes and point to a place
on the map. With the map in front of me, I would sit on the floor and concentrate on the place
that I had picked. Suddenly, I would find myself in that very country, all the while still sitting on
the floor of my bedroom.

This was not a dream or vision. I was immediately able to feel the climate changes. On one of
these trips, I remember going to South America. This was not your normal astral travel or remote
viewing experience, as I was definitely in a physical body in South America. At the same time,
however, I was in my bedroom. The only difference that I noticed about myself was that I would
take on the physical features of the people native to that area, allowing me to fit right in.

In the astral body, you are transparent. I, however, am not transparent in this body as I can be
touched as well as feel things. While I was in South America, I can remember that there was an
earthquake in a small village I was visiting. There were people running in all directions, pushing
and shoving each other, trying to find a safe place to hide.

As I stood my ground watching them, I saw a little boy get pushed. I ran to catch him so he
wouldn’t fall into the hole that quickly formed near him. As I grabbed him, he turned to hug me,
crying. I took him to a safe place, near some trees, where other people were hiding.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

51
Waving good bye, I watched his eyes in amazement, taking everything in as I left and came back
to my other body in my room. While I had made lots of other trips as a child, that one in South
America was the one that I remembered the most in detail.

When I became an adult, I experienced a similar act while still living in Philly. One evening, as I
was getting ready for bed, a strong feeling that something was wrong came over me. I allowed
myself to tune in to what the problem was. I did not know I was traveling anywhere at the time. I
saw my older brother on a dark street, where two guys were about to jump him. They both had
knives and were going to seriously harm my brother. I found myself yelling, “Leave him be. You
leave my brother alone.” Then I blanked out. My mate said that he heard me yelling as I fell onto
the bed. I woke up to the ringing phone. It was my older brother. He said, “Thanks sis, you saved
my hide again.” He said that he knew, if he was ever in any real trouble I would know it. He said
that I appeared as a white light yelling, “Leave him be. You leave my brother alone.” With that,
the intruders fled the area. He said, “I’m quite sure they wet their pants, because they probably
thought you were a ghost.”

Sometimes I have no control over when I split in two. I don’t even know how I do it any more.
It is part of me and just seems to happen naturally, whenever it is needed.

Chapter Five
The Disappearing
House
We had been living in Congress for a year, when the lights started in the desert on a regular basis.
One night, I heard the strange humming in my head. As I looked out the kitchen window, the
lights appeared again across the desert. There was one night in particular that still sticks out in
my mind. This is the night that there were four objects in the desert.

Three of them had the series of lights around them. The fourth was just a huge egg-shaped light.
As I continued to watch, a person who was all lit up in white lights, like a Christmas tree, came
out of one of the objects with the series of lights. Given that this whole scene was taking place
several miles away, my having been able to make out the distinct shape of a human figure in
lights, from my home, indicated to me that this person was extremely tall.

The figure walked into the egg-shaped light, making the object turn an even brighter white color,
lasting about ten minutes at the most. Upon leaving the object, its light grew dim once again.
What was really interesting about all of this was that the figure appeared to be brighter than what
it was before entering the object.

The figure went back into the object with the series of lights. This was the first time there was
something different, besides the objects with the series of lights, on the desert, which perked my
curiosity. I planned to stay up the next time I saw the lights, watching all night to see where they
went.

The next day I told my neighbor and the little elderly woman about what I had seen take place
out on the desert. That night, after my children went to bed, I got a chair and a tall glass of herbal
tea. I went out into the back yard to wait for the lights, but by the time I got everything together,
the lights were already out on the desert.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

53
I sat there and watched the lights all night. In the morning, when the first hint of daylight
appeared, the strangest thing began to happen on the desert. A thick fog rose from the ground up,
encircling the area where the objects were. Everything in the area began to vibrate. Within
seconds, the light objects disappeared.

By this time, the fog had filled the entire area. Within the blink of an eye they were gone and the
fog began to go back down into the ground. This was the first time that I had ever witnessed fog
rising from the ground up instead of coming from the sky downward. I was beginning to
understand what I was seeing every night.

These were not just any lights, not at all. They had to be the lights from the ancient “City of
Lights” (the lost city of gold) that the mountain man, Jacques, had told me about. This meant that
this city had been here the whole time, with their lights vibrating at a much faster speed in the
sunlight, and/or when they had collected enough light.

This was the only thing that made any sense for I had never seen them during the day and I
didn’t always see them at night. There were times during the day when I might be able to see the
domed cities. This could only mean that they needed to store enough energy so as not to be
visible at all times.

This must have been what the Spaniards were searching for. It had been right under their noses
the whole time. I now began to wonder if I would ever get the chance to meet the people of this
strange city.

Maybe I had already met them, when I saw the man with the gold box? Although he had come
from a different direction, maybe there were lights in that direction, even though I couldn’t see
them from my home. Those women who came and bathed me. Were they from the strange place
of lights? These were the very thoughts that began to race through my head.

I went inside to get the children up and ready for school, telling them what had happened. My
son remarked that it was not safe out there in that area. Once the children were off to school, I
hurried out back to make my prayer circle. I wanted to know if my son was right. What was out
there? I meditated for about a half an hour. Nothing happened. Strange, but I was still wide
awake, even though I had stayed up all night.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

54
After meditation I called my neighbor and the little elderly woman, telling them what happened
to the lights in the desert. I also shared with them what I thought they were. The little elderly
woman said that she wanted to be at my home when the lights appeared again. My neighbor also
wanted me to call her so she could watch from her back porch.

Later that same evening, I picked up the elderly woman in my car. We drank tea while we
waited. Strangely enough, the lights didn’t appear until about 10:00 pm. The little elderly woman
was with me, watching. She was surprised to be able to see the lights.

I called my neighbor. She said she was getting ready to go out on her porch to watch for the
lights. The lights don’t always appear while you are watching and waiting for them. Often times,
the minute your attention goes away from the site, they appear. Even my mate started watching
them when he came home on weekends. Even though the lights didn’t always appear, that didn’t
stop us from watching for them every night.

During one meditation, sometime after the lights, I received some more strange writings. The
meditation started the same, as always, the only difference being that I was in the house because
the ground was too damp to sit on. In the middle of my meditation, the spirits wanted to write, so
I got a piece of paper and pen. The following is what they wrote: “We come to you from the
world of those you know as the helpers. We come with blessings of love, begin now to eliminate
all mistrust for we are here to help you see as we see the things around you and to help you help
those who are in much need. Green is in harmony with what you do now so surround yourself
with green. There is great need to communicate more, but the atmosphere is very thick.” Then
they drew some strange symbols. I am sorry that I cannot add them here for I do not know how
to transfer them. As the communication ended, I felt the need to share the warmth as I did as a
child. I felt as though M other Earth would soon be spilling her guts in pain and that this her pain
would get to the point of disaster. Now I knew why I had been taught how to play “Share the
Warmth”.

One evening my dogs began barking at the back door, as if someone was outside our home. I
went to the back door and opened the window to see if I could see anything, but didn’t open the
door. Turning the back outside lights on, I took a better peek. I didn’t see anything at that point,
but I did hear a spine chilling sound coming from the desert. The only thing that I can compare
this sound to is the sound recorded in the Big Foot Documentary that I saw on TV one evening.
The only difference with this sound was that it sounded like a whole heard of creatures and not
just one of them like on the documentary.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

55
The sounds were coming closer to the house. My children and I didn’t know what was going to
happen, so I called my neighbor. She went out her back door and also heard the sound. She
immediately woke her husband from his evening nap and told him what was happening. Her
husband jumped into his pants and quickly drove over to my house in his bare feet. As soon as he
drove up to the front of my home, the sounds stopped. He got out of his car and came in the front
door, asking if I had a gun in the house.

I replied, “Yes”. He was shaking as he talked. I didn’t know if it was because he was afraid or if
he was cold, because the only thing he had on was his pants. He told me to get the gun and load
it. He told me not to hesitate to use it if necessary, because in all of his sixty some odd years he
had never heard anything so terrifying as the sounds now coming from the desert.

I thanked him for coming over. He told me to stay close to the phone, that he was going back
home to check on his wife. He was really frightened by those strange sounds.

My children and I turned off all the lights and went to the back window to listen and watch. Out
on the desert, there was one object of lights on the ground. In the air, about three stories high
from the ground, was another object of lights that was shining a blue beam on the ground below,
almost as if it were looking for something. Then it disappeared.

When this happened, a small round light that was extremely bright, appeared to be floating
across the desert. It moved like someone was carrying it while walking. As it floated in the
direction of the object of lights that were on the ground, the sounds that were very near our home
changed direction and started to follow the floating light. By the time the floating light got to the
object of lights, the sounds ended. We never heard the sounds after that.

The next day, my neighbor, her friend and myself went out into the desert to see if we could find
any tracks of any kind. We found several tracks that looked like a barefoot missing one toe. It
started to get too hot for my fair skinned neighbor, so we started to head back, but were lost.

Suddenly, about 50 feet away from us, this squawking noise started. We looked and there on the
ground was a strange looking bird. He was the type of bird you would see near water. He had a
long neck, a straight pointed beak and stilt like legs. Standing at about a foot or so tall, he danced
around while squawking, as if he was trying to tell us something.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

56
We began to walk in his direction. Moments later, he took off to the sky. He flew about a quarter
of a mile away before lowering himself to the ground and doing that dance motion again. We
continues to walk towards him. Each time, he would take off again for another quarter of a mile.
As we continued to follow, he continued to engage in the same behaviors. Clearly, this bird was
some kind of spirit guide for he lead us all the way back home before disappearing for good.

Another evening, not too long after we heard the strange sounds from the desert, I began hearing
the humming in my head. This time the humming was extremely loud, so much so that it actually
was hurting my head. I felt that it was directly over my house, so I went to the front door to go
out and see where the object might be.

As soon as I touched the doorknob, I received a strong shock. I went to the back door and tried
the doorknob. The same thing happened. I tried to open the windows, I got a nasty shock. I
touched the wall, it also was electrified.

I immediately ran to the phone, now in a panic, and dialed my neighbor. When she answered, I
received a shock in my ear from the receiver. This made me drop the phone on the counter top. I
had no choice but to lean down and holler into the phone, doing my very best not to touch it. I
told her that I couldn’t get out of my house, that the whole place was electrified. I asked her to
look out her back door and see if there was an object hovering over the top of my house. I
wanted to know how big it was, and what it looked like.

When she came back to the phone, she wanted to know if I had any lights on in the house. I
yelled back, still trying not to touch the phone for fear of getting shocked again. All the lights in
the house were on because the children, too, were frightened, having turned them on even though
it was still light outside. She yelled back, “Oh my God! Your house is not there.” to which I
yelled back, “What do you mean my house is not there?”

She told me that there was a big black hole where my house belonged. She also shared that even
my car, the sheds and trees were gone. I asked her to keep watching and let me know when she
could see my house. I also wanted to know if there was any type of change in the area. After
about twenty minutes she came back to the phone to say that all of a sudden my house, car and
surrounding trees just appeared out of nowhere. It was at that point that the humming had
stopped and I could touch the phone without getting shocked.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

57
After these strange events, I had a better understanding of why the previous owners were
frightened. While these truly were formidable events, they were also fascinating to someone like
me. I really enjoyed everything that happened in Congress.

I took on a part time job at the hospital, a member of their cleaning staff. This would give me
something to do during the day while the children were at school. It wasn’t long before my mate
got tired of living in two places and not being able to enjoy life with his family. The traveling
back and forth for more than a year had taken its toll on him and was beginning to stress him out.

He put an application in for a chemist position in the hopes of being able to get the job. He
decided to quit school and work full time. He also thought it would be better for all of us, and
less expensive, if we moved somewhere near Tempe, so he wouldn’t have to travel so much and
we could all be together the way a family should be.

We put the house in Congress on the market in the anticipation that it would sell fast so we could
move. In the mean time, I began packing anything we didn’t need to use. I had to give notice to
the hospital. I was glad to leave this job. A number of times when I went in to clean a certain
patient’s room, I was able to smell death approaching. This made me feel quite ill, and there were
a number of occasions where I had to leave work.

One of my fellow workers wanted to know if I knew what was making me get so sick. I told her
that I could smell death. She didn’t believe me at the time. Later, we were both working the same
room when I had to leave. She followed, asking if I was alright. I told her death was coming, that
within the next two days that patient would be dead. Two days later, the man died. That’s when
she finally believed what I had been saying.

Following the new year, my mate didn’t go back to school. One day, after the children went to
school, we went to Tempe area to look for a new home.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

58
Chapter Six
Moving Again
Within a month, we had a buyer for the house. All the papers were signed and we had 30 days to
find a new home. My mate had his interview and got the job. He was to start work in March, so
we had considerable time to find a house, since it was only the end of January.

We tried, on our own, but couldn’t find anything we liked. We contacted a realtor in Tempe and
told him that we were looking for a house to rent. We gave him our price range, telling him the
size of the house we were looking for. He showed us four houses. We were not interested in any
of them. He explained that we would have a much better chance finding what we wanted if we
actually bought a house. A good investment, he was also quick to point out that for just $100 a
month more we could be making payments on a home. We knew he was right, directing him to
start looking for a home we could buy and move into within 30 days.

He showed us four available and very nice homes, three of which had pools and one with a large
back yard. The only problem was, in every case, that they were all too close to the house next
door. Living in Congress, we had been used to the open space. While we were willing to give up
space, we felt that we still needed some distance between our home and the one situated next to
us.

Going back to the realtor’s office, he looked through his master file of available homes in the
area. He found one within our price range that had three bedrooms and a back yard. We went
over to see the house.

As we drove up into the driveway, I saw three bright white lights in the sky, almost as if
suspended directly over the house itself, a Spanish style home with a wrought iron fence
positioned around it. Sitting in a cul-de-sac with four other houses, all different in appearance.
It , however, was the only one with a fence around the front yard.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

59
As you walked up to the front door, there was ceramic title on the floor of the covered sitting
area (what we call an open half porch). There was a carport for one car, but the driveway was big
enough for two or three more cars. Upon entering the front door, you found yourself inside a
moderate sized living room area.

To the back and left side of the living room was a hall that led to the bathroom, two medium size
bedrooms, hall closet and large master bedroom. The master bedroom had its own bathroom
attached to it.

As you left the living room, you walked into a large family room with a bay window. There was
a nice size kitchen to the left of the family room. The kitchen was modern. It had a stove, air
vent, dishwasher, double basin sink with a garbage disposal. There was ample cabinet space
everywhere. In the kitchen there was a door that lead to the pantry. There was also another door
beyond it that lead to the outside to the carport.

As you left the family room, you entered the dining area with sliding glass doors that led to the
back yard. The back of the house had an “L” shaped porch that went around the side of the
house. There was an open patio area and an in-ground pool. The back yard was a nice size,
almost a half acre so there would be plenty of room for the pets.

The entire property, both in the front and out back, was nicely landscaped. As we left the house, I
looked up and the lights were still in the sky overhead. It was a beautiful afternoon and the sky
was clear blue. The lights didn’t move, they just stayed over the house, so I knew that this would
be our new home.

As I turned to get into the car, I could see the mountains that were not far away. Flying At
towards them were two hawks. least I knew now that nature would not be far away ,even I
though I had to live in the city. knew my spirit hawks would still be with me.

It didn’t take long for us to pack everything up and start the move. We rented a truck and had
everything moved in one day. We even had a few days left before my mate started his new job.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

60
The day after we moved in, we went back to Wickenburg and got the children’s school records.
They were in their first year of high school and we didn’t want them to miss much time from
school. We quickly headed back to Tempe to get them registered into the high school there.

The next day, being a Saturday, the children had some time to settle in before starting at their
new school. Little did we know that this move; which we were all happy about, would have a
bad affect on the children’s lives later.

Two years after we moved into our new home, my daughter went through diabetic depression,
caused mainly by the children in school making fun of her after seeing her, in the nurses office,
taking her insulin. These children were very cruel, causing my daughter to withdraw into a deep
depression that put a terrible strain on the entire family.

In the end, my daughter went back east to live with my parents. We felt this might be the best
place for her as she was seeing the doctors there who specialized in her type of depression, but,
in fact, it didn’t help at all. She dropped out of school and I brought her back to Phoenix.

She was very strong willed, wanting to be on her own. I helped her get her own apartment and
furnishings. She got a job and was then able to work on getting her GED. A hard worker, at times
she had two jobs, until it caused her health to fade.

In the meantime, my son had only one year of school left to complete. One day he had the school
counselor call me at work. I was told that my son wanted to drop out of school. The counselor
didn’t understand why, since he was an A student. I asked to speak to my son.

He was very upset. He told me that when crime rises in the school, to the point that you do not
feel safe, it makes it hard to learn anything. He told me that he didn’t want to participate in
anything that was wrong. He didn’t want to get hurt. He didn’t want to hurt anyone. I told him
that I understood, asking him to put the counselor back on the phone. I told the counselor that my
son had my permission to drop out of school. Weeks later, my son got his GED on his own.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

61
I knew that no matter what, in time both of my children would do what was right for them. I had
given them the space they needed to be their own person. While they both went through a lot of
pain and hardship in moving from Congress to Phoenix, they also learned to be tough. Today,
they are both very strong young adults following the medicine path of the Old Ones.

In our new home here in Phoenix, people started contacting me for help just like when I lived in
Philadelphia. The only difference this time was that most of these people were light workers
themselves. Some were in need of having doors opened to their own hidden abilities. Some had
blocks in their lives, causing their spiritual development to come to a standstill. They did not
understand that they were causing the blocks themselves.

Like before, I would stop whatever I was doing to help these people in whatever way I could.
Sometimes all they needed was some one to talk to.

I met a young girl who asked me to give her a reading. The things I was directed to tell her were
not all good. The main thing was her health. I told her that she should be extremely careful for I
saw her getting very sick. After the reading, she pulled a photograph out of her wallet, handing it
to me. In the photo was a young woman of about 20 years of age. She was holding a little baby
girl in front of her while she sat on the floor. As I looked at the photo, my eyes filled with tears.
As I continued to look at the picture, I began to feel much sorrow coming from the woman in the
picture. I turned to the young girl, telling her that this poor child never got to see her second
birthday. With tears in her eyes, the girl told me that she had died at 18 months of age.

Just then I got a sharp pain in my heart and had a hard time breathing. The young girl reached for
me, asking if I was alright. I directed her not to touch me because I was experiencing what the
child must have gone through. I told her the child had a heart and respiratory condition that
caused her death. The girl cried as she explained to me how the last days of the poor baby’s life
were spent connected to all kinds of tubes and machines. She said that the parents had been
having problems communicating with each other ever since the child died. She told me that the
child had been dead for about six months and both parents were still very depressed. She wanted
to help them but didn’t know how. I told her not to worry. The spirits had told me that the woman
would bring another child into the world soon, even thought she didn’t know it at the time.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

62
Eight months later, the young woman called me to tell me that the lady had a healthy baby boy.
The parents were once again very happy and in love. The young girl became very sick a year
later. Her poor body developed internal problems which had to be operated on. She was able to
deal with things much better because the warning I had given her had better prepared her so that
she would be able to heal without stress.

There was an Indian family, mostly women, who were always having problems. One even came
to me once, asking if I would please help her do harm to another. I sat with her in my living room
for more than an hour, explaining that I did not come into this world to hurt anyone.

I told her that my mission was to help those who were trying to find their way in the dark back to
the light and love of God. I did let her know that if someone had done something evil to hurt her,
that I would try to find a way to remove this force, sending it into the earth where it could do no
more harm.

I told her to pray for the person she wished to harm. She cried and said that for her that would
not be enough. I stated, emphatically, that I did not want her to contact me anymore if she
continued to wish harm on another. If she could not find love in her heart for this person, I did
not want her in my home.

Her tears continued as she admitted that she did not want to lose me as a friend. After she cried
away all the anger she was feeling, she left my home not wishing any harm on anyone.

One day, an elderly Spanish lady and her daughter-in-law came to see me. The elderly lady
seemed as though she was testing me. I told her that I did not read or guarantee anything, but that
I was an open channel for the spirit world to send messages through. If they wanted her to know
something, they would tell it to me for her.

As she smiled at me, the spirits began to tell me about her family. The lady was so excited about
the information that was being given to her that the very next day she came over to my home
with some pictures. Again, while very pleased with the information given about the people in the
pictures, she seemed to be testing my spiritual contact. Nevertheless, from that day on we
became very good friends.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

63
One day the lady and her husband took my mate and I to Mexico to see a healer she knew. This
healer only spoke Spanish, so she had to translate every word. My mate’s leg was bothering him,
so the man told him to sit in his chair in front of him. In Spanish, he told the lady to tell me that
he wanted me to sit beside him on the couch. He also told her to sit beside me.

He took his hands and went down the sides of my mate’s leg. I noticed, out of the corner of my
eye, that he was throwing something to the side with every pass he made down my mate’s leg.
This made me take a closer look at what he was doing. As he got to my mate’s ankle, I saw him
pull some small crystal like stones, the size of pebbles, out of my mate’s ankle and throw them to
the side of the room.

I unconsciously made a gasping sound when I realized what this man was doing. He looked up at
me and smiled, as he knew I could see what had been happening. The lady asked me what was
wrong. I told her what I saw as she, in turn, translated it to the old man.

He told her to tell me that the Holy Mother told him that I had to see the way he healed and to
know this way, as well, for it is the way of the Spanish Ancient Ones. As we left the old man’s
home, he gave us all a special blessing. That was my first and only visit to Mexico.

Chapter Seven
The School Teachers
One summer, two teachers from back east came out to visit me. The women were best friends.
One lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a tall, dark brown skinned, slender built
woman in her early forties. She had large, dark brown button eyes and nicely styled neck-length
black hair and a beautiful smile. She dressed casual, but conservative. The other teacher lived in
Miami, Florida. She was about 5 feet 5 inches tall and had a golden Florida tan. She wore her
long blonde waist-length hair in a pony tail most of the time. She, too, had brown eyes and was
also in her early forties. There was an air of sophistication about her. She dressed in clothes that
were very stylish, but more suited to what a younger woman would wear. This was because she
had a well built body and wanted others to know it. Both had been my nephew’s teachers at
different times when he was in grade school, as both had been living in Philadelphia at that time,
teaching at the same school.

When they arrived, I got in touch with my Hopi brother. He invited us to come to the reservation
to see the Kachinas dance for the well needed rain. We went to the reservation on a Friday
morning in July, 1986, staying the whole weekend at the Inn on the reservation. After we
watched the Kachina’s dance that Saturday, my brother showed us around Hopi land.

We stopped at this one spot, getting out of the car to absorb the beauty of the land and take some
pictures. As we stood there, a loud roar was carried on the wind to our ears. It sounded like a
very large animal, something like the sounds you hear at the movies when there is a dinosaur on
the screen. We looked at each other and said almost at the same time, “Did you hear that?”

Looking back at the land, it suddenly appeared to be moving, swaying with waves of ripples as
we watched. It was like the solid ground had turned into a grass wave, but in the same way that
water ripples. The more the land moved, the louder the sound grew. It was getting late and with
no road lights on the reservation, we left the area, not wanting to take any chances waiting
around to see what would happen next.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

65
We dropped my Hopi brother off at the home of a relative, thanking him for the tour. We, then,
returned to the Inn to have dinner and talk about what happened.

That night in our room at the Inn, we heard a tapping on the window and the roof. Neither of us
were willing to open the door to see what it was. Suddenly, a Kachina spirit walked through the
door. As he entered, there was a loud thunder-like sound. We were all aware of his presence.

The spirit walked over to where I was sitting, on the end of the bed. The blonde ran out of the
shower when she heard the noise. The other teacher was relaxing across the other bed. The spirit
must have entered my body, because I blacked out. When I became cognizant of bring in my own
body once again, I saw that the teacher laying across the bed was out cold. Her hand was moving
back and forth. The blond was still standing in the middle of the floor in the buff.

Looking over at the other teacher, she quickly got a pen and paper to put into the other teacher’s
hand. I immediately ran into the bathroom, getting a towel for the blond to cover herself with as
she remained beside the bed, changing the pages as the other teacher wrote.

In a deep trance, she wrote some very strange messages. As she slowly came out of her trance,
she looked drunk, as if all the energy had been drained out of her. She told me that before she
blacked out, I had turned to her and started scolding her. She said that at that point I looked and
sounded just like her grandmother. The blonde said that I also gave her some messages also, but
she had heard them in a male’s voice. This was a strange night, one that none of us would ever
forget.

The next day we stopped off in Congress to visit with my friends and we ended up spending the
night at the little elderly woman’s home because it was getting so late. We had been traveling all
day and it felt so good to relax. That evening, while we all sat around the table, I asked the
elderly woman if she could still see the lights on the desert. She told me that she hadn’t looked
for them lately. Of course, the teachers were curious about the lights, asking me if I would show
them where they were.

As we were getting into the car, I told the elderly woman that we would be back. It was about
9:30 pm. Driving down the highway, we pulled into an open area about half a mile away from
where I used to live. As we pulled into the area, we noticed another car.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

66
The car was parked there with the inside lights turned on, but there was no one sitting in any of
the seats. Suddenly, the car began to vibrate. We pulled up beside the car to get a better look, just
in case someone needed help. As we did, a figure appeared out of nowhere in the driver’s seat.

The figure sat wearing both an overcoat on and a hat, but there wasn’t any face as it turned
toward us. There was simply a black nothingness where the face should have been. We turned the
car around and quickly drove away from the spot. The car with the figure in it made a “U” turn
and started to follow us.

Knowing another open area, not far up the road, that had a lot of tall weeds around it, that was
where we headed. Arriving at that spot, I told the teacher to pull into the area and turn off the
lights. We sat and watched as the other car drove up and down the highway, as though it was
looking for us. I cannot say how much time went by before the driver gave up, driving down the
road out of sight.

At that very moment, the lights appeared on the desert. It was wonderful that the teachers got to
see them. After we left the area, we went back to the elderly woman’s home.

We sat up late that night, talking about the lights and receiving some messages from the spirits.
The session also involved some strange sounds, like someone walking on the roof. The spirits
began to tell me things. The teacher started doing some automatic writing and so did my friend,
the elderly woman.

The next day the elderly woman called my other friend, the one who had been my neighbor. We
all got into the car and went over to her home. My old neighbor welcomed us in for a cup of tea.
After we talked for awhile, the dark skinned teacher put her head on the table and went into
another trance state, with her hand moving back and forth. The blond asked for a pen and paper.
She placed the pen in the other teacher’s hand and the paper on the table under her hand. As the
teacher began to write, the blond became very protective of her. Staring at everyone with a blank
look, with one hand raised she motioned for everyone to stay back.

She became a guard for the other teacher while she was in her trance. After the session ended,
she was back to herself while the other teacher was once again drained. This was an unusual
episode that neither of the teachers could explain.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

67
Not long after we arrived back in Phoenix, the teachers packed to leave for the airport. I still
keep in touch with the one from Philly as the spirits have said that she is supposed to move from
the east coast, but that if she doesn’t it will be because she is afraid. They informed me that they
would make it possible for her to leave on more than one occasion. They said that she is afraid
because she is full of emotions, emotions that she is too stubborn to let go of, which will
eventually be the cause of much ill health.

There was one afternoon that I called my mate’s workplace to ask him something important. He
was out of the lab at the time of my call. I had met the young woman who answered the phone.
She was about 5 foot 2 inches tall with dark brown hair and originally from New York. When my
mate came home, I gave him a crystal to give to this young woman.

That weekend she called to thank me for the crystal. She told me on the phone that she was
getting ready to go out, but the spirits kept giving me information to pass onto her. This kept us
on the phone for more than two hours. After that conversation, we have continued to try to keep
each other posted on new books and different things in the holistic area.

This same young woman called one evening, asking if she could bring a friend over to meet me.
The blond haired young woman she brought with her radiated with an unusual warmth. She
seemed to be very intent on absorbing everything I had to say. I knew that she had two small
children, a little boy and girl.

Having had a set of chimes laying around in a box, one day my son decided to hang them up in
the family room. I asked him why he chose to hang them in the north corner, right in front of the
book case. He told me that he felt they belonged there. After that, when people came over and
wanted information from the spirit world, the chimes would ring as if someone was shaking
them. Yet, in every case, there was no one near them. They would only ring if the person had any
doubt about the information that was being given to them. It was as if the spirits wanted to
reassure the person who the information was meant for.

There was one time that the young woman with the two children came over. As the information
was being relayed, the chimes started shaking wildly, almost as if they were going to jump off
the hook. That was more than enough to convince this young woman. She was quick to realize
that she was not doing the things she should have been doing to help her spiritual growth.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

68
Not long after, this same young woman began bringing her friends to speak with me. The next
thing I knew, a group circle, much like the group in Philly, had formed here in Arizona.
Sometimes during these gatherings my son would be the one explaining spiritual things to the
group.

There was another time that the spirits, once again, told the young woman that she still was not
letting go of the fear that was holding back her growth. The woman got angry. What she had to
say to the spirits was relayed in a very emotional and foul way. My son moved to the back of the
room. I also quickly moved back a bit, for we were not sure what would happen next.

The spirits, very calmly, related to the woman how she could begin to release these fears. She is
now walking the path of a light worker, doing all that she can to help others. The door of this
young woman has since opened to the point where she began advising people. It was also
incredible to see her little girl get involved. Only 6, she was very close to the spirit world and not
afraid to let it be known.

During one meditation within the group circle, I asked for help for my children’s Godfather. Two
other friends of mine meditated for the same reason. The following is what happened as a result
of this meditation.

I was first told to pray. Immediately after I began to pray, strands of light yellow light came from
the left. White light went straight up, then back down to connect with the end of the yellow light.
To the right, a light powder blue light came and this end connected with the white and yellow so
that a pyramid of light was formed.

No one color was the head and no one color was the end. All three colors were equal. I was able
to see a temple of gold on a pedestal. There was a book with a red stone on the front of it sitting
on another pedestal.

Then a golden bird appeared, more like a Phoenix, but not. The wings stretched out, moving up
and out of the temple with the colors of light, causing a circle of light to reflect down in a funnel
shape of white light, blending into yellow, blending into blue as if one light.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

69
I saw hands signing papers and then a vault door being opened. There were more papers being
signed, by just hands. Next, there was a mound of ancient coins piled at least three stories high. I
was told to stretch out my hands. I felt as if I were holding hands with other people. Then the
words one for each spring. Then I was back in the bathroom and these words were said to me,
“You who were sent have done well.”

This was a very strange meditation from Spirit and to this day, I have still not found the meaning
for the vision. Spirit said those words and in a lot of cases dealing with other people, the
messages were like pieces to a puzzle.

Conclusion
In June of 1990, the three angels reappeared, telling me that I had to go back to Philadelphia one
more time to give a final warning to those that I knew there. At the time I wasn’t working, so I
didn’t know how I would get back there. The angels, as always, were quick to reassure me that
the way would be made open. They said that I was to tell everyone I knew, face to face, that this
would be my last visit to the east coast. In addition, when my visit was over, they, themselves,
would have a year or two to make up their minds to leave before the gates of destruction started
to close in on the city.

Exactly two years after I made that visit, my father died. Living in a big house all alone, my
mother decided to move to Arizona, wanting to be where it was warm. She had fallen in love
with the Superstition Mountains and wanted to live near them. As a result, my mother moved to
Apache Junction, just to be near her favorite mountain, becoming a regular member of the circle
which, by now, was calling itself the Mustard Seed Medicine Council.

The council consisted of a group of ordinary people, coming from different walks of life,
connecting with their ancestors, all in search of universal harmony. A tribal people, they were re-
connecting with their own creative visualizing and healing powers. In reclaiming these latent
birth rite abilities, they were now able to make important changes in attitude about the conditions
that continued to surround their lives. This talent hidden, that exists within each person, gives
one the ability to take stressful chaos and turn it into meaningful order.

The group claimed the Indian Mustard Seed plant as their totem. As such, it is a totem that
represents strong faith and the protection of their ancestral beliefs. This group symbol, complete
with powerful energies, was quick to become their association for connection with Mother Earth,
as a tribal people who have strived to learn and follow the ways of living in harmony with all
other creatures of this planet.

The council started a newsletter called Rainbow Speaks, so called because it was to be the voice
of tribal people.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

71
Tribal people are people of all colors and races, created by God. We are all a significant part of
God’s rainbow of colors. As such, this newsletter was meant to be a means by which tribal
people could communicate with other people on the rainbow path.

Tribal people who are on the rainbow path do not condone irrational suspicion or hatred of a
particular group, race or religion. Tribal medicine has no room for bigotry of any kind. On the
rainbow path, we are all rainbow children of God in search of love, peace and harmony.

My mother enjoyed writing articles for Rainbow Speaks. Seven months after my mother moved
to Arizona, she had a severe stroke, brought about due to significant stress. She was always
worrying about her house back east as well as my sisters and brothers who were living there. On
top of this worry, she still was morning the loss of my father.

My mother was now paralyzed on her left side. M y son and his family moved in with her
because my son’s wife was licensed to care for someone in my mother’s condition. It was a
bonus that they got along really well, mainly because they had the same kind of personality. My
mother loved her like a daughter and she returned this love by taking exceptional care of her.
With her support, my mother’s health started to improve to the point whereby she was able to
take small steps with help. However, she was still unable to move her left arm.

With my mom still worrying about things back east, she decided to take a visit back there for ten
days. When my mom returned at the end of her trip, she had to be admitted back into the
hospital. I guess the negative energy of the dark ones was no match for her frail body. From that
day forward, her health slowly declined. On October 20, 1993. when I went to see my mother, I
knew death was coming because I could smell it, just like before when I had been working at the
hospital. I felt that I might be able to keep death away for a longer time, through prayer.

My mother said that she needed to see my son and his little boy. She wanted me to tell my
daughter that she loved her. Although she had a tear coming down the side of her face as she was
making these requests, she would not open her eyes. She also kept asking about my son’s wife,
wanting to know how she was doing. I kept trying to get her to open her eyes, telling her that I
wanted to see the twinkle that was in her eye, but she kept them shut tight.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

72
She was now worrying about my son’s wife because they had become so close. I told her that I
would get my son to come and see her. I knew she was getting weaker, but I didn’t want her to
go. On October 21,1993, my son and his little boy went to see my mother. He called me later to
say that he had prayed with my mom, letting her know that he loved her and that it was alright to
go if that was what she wanted. He shared that her eyes had been closed the whole time and he
felt as though she was half there.

I had a candle burning for my mom.

On October 22,1993, I woke up at four in the morning. It was at that very moment that the candle
went out. I began to pray for my mom because I knew she was gone, but I still thought it might
be possible to keep her here with me. I was not ready for her to go. I clearly heard her say to me,
“Please, Crooked Arrow, let me go. I want to go. Please let me go.” With tears in my eyes, I told
her I loved her and then I let go. It was at 6:00 am that I got the call, saying that she had just
passed away.

Years ago, while my mom had still been living back east, I made her a Mohawk regalia to wear
at the Pow Wows. I never got to see her wear it. The morning of her death, I was in the shower
praying and still trying to adjust to the fact that my mom was now in the next world.

Suddenly, I felt the presence of my mother. She said, “I’m alright. Tell everyone, especially “She
who sheds many tears” (my son’s wife) that I’m alright.” She said that this name was to be my
son’s wife’s new name. She went on to share, saying, “It’s so beautiful here. It’s just like you said
it would be, but even better. Before they cremate my body, you must make sure that I am dressed
in my regalia. Please do this for me. Make sure my ashes are given back to Mother Earth in a
sacred way. Tell everyone I love them and I will try to help them from this side. I love you”.

That was the first time during my entire life that my mother ever told me that she loved me.

Later that day, as the body was being transported to the mortuary, I took the regalia, her medicine
bag and a beaded hawk feather, there, with me, so that she could be laid out as she had wished.
When we viewed the body, she looked as though she were peacefully sleeping.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

73
As I got closer, I could see that she was looking at us, allowing me see the twinkle in her eyes
one more time. This made my son’s wife break down. She is a very emotional person. I am now
able to see why mom gave her that new name.

The body was not cremated right away because, for some reason unknown to me, two of my
sisters said they had to come out from back east to view the body. Several days later, they arrived
in Arizona. I went with them to view the body. This time, her eyes were closed and she really
looked as though she were sleeping. My sisters left Arizona after viewing the body. I guess they
had to see for themselves that she was gone.

My work was cut out for me. I had to write the obituary and get things printed up. I had to
meditate and pray for guidance, as my mom had wanted her ashes scattered ceremonially and I
had no experience with any of this, so I was greatly depending on instructions from the other
side.

The obituary turned out just fine. There was a memorial service conducted at the Catholic
Church she had belonged to in Apache Junction. After the service, there had been a luncheon, in
the church hall, prepared by some of her friends. After the luncheon, everyone boarded into cars,
including several nuns from the church. We were part of a caravan heading to the mountains for
the final ceremony where the ashes were to be scattered.

After the ceremony, we all hugged before leaving the area. The next day, I got phone calls from
everyone that was at the ceremony. All told me that they felt that they had received something
special from the ceremony.

My husband said that I had done an incredibly professional job, that my mom would have been
proud. My son called and said, “Mom, I didn’t know you knew how to do all that.” I told him
that it had been my first time. He replied, “No way! Then you must have done it a lot in your past
life because you did everything like a pro. You acted as if you knew exactly what had to be
done.”

I told him that I had just been following instructions the whole time. Every move that I had made
was being orchestrated from the other world. There were many other people who called, saying
the same thing, that I must have had a previous experience in order to know exactly what to do.

The Whispering Desert Crooked Arrow

74
Each person that talked to me reported that the ceremony at the mountain helped them to finally
understand what was meant by a joyful passing. There was no crying at my mom’s funeral,
unlike that with other people. Instead, everyone felt an inner peace and joy that words could not
describe. Also, there was the sharing of love that tied everything together so nicely at the end,
when everyone began hugging. Each one said that they hoped their passing would get the same
kind of treatment and that they wished others could experience what we all felt that day.

In the physical form, my mom was a caring person, well liked by everyone who met her and
now, in the afterlife, she has still been able to radiate that caring energy to all who were present
at the ceremony.

At the time of this writing, no one else that I was able to warn has left the east coast. Ill health
has already started to come to pass to some of the light workers who are still there. The neighbor
I had in Congress moved back to Pennsylvania with her husband, becoming very ill. Years later,
after spending so much time in and out of the hospital, she died. The spirits have told me that
people still have time because much of the negative energy was diverted to the Middle East.

My mate and I were married on May18, 1990, after being together for the past 15 years. We also
opened a therapeutic center for massage and other healing treatments for a couple of years. The
strangest thing was that more people came to the center for spiritual healing than for physical
healing, so we didn’t make much money. I had no control over this, as this was a center that
people had been needing. I wanted people to get all of the help that they could.

One massage therapist friend of mine brought one of her clients to see me. A man in a
wheelchair, I told the therapist what to do for him. I also told him that I would be praying for his
recovery and that he, himself, would know that it was working because that night he was going
to be able to feel it in his feet.

The very next day the therapist called to tell me that the man had been able to feel a strange
warmth in his feet for the first time in years. Today, he is doing much better, walking with the
help of a cane.

Another time, an Indian friend of mine, one whom I made mention of in one of the earlier
chapters, brought her newborn baby girl to see me at the center. The doctors had placed the baby
in a brace that covered her entire hip and leg area. The poor thing was in constant pain, crying.

The doctors told the mother, my friend, that her child would never be able to walk, having too
wear braces for the rest of her life. I laid the baby on one of the massage tables. Asking the mom
to take off the brace, I held my hands on her tiny body and prayed. I was able to feel the baby’s
bones move into place. She stopped crying. The mother heard a popping sound and for the first
time she saw the child moving her legs on her own.

It has been many months since this happening. During those months, I directed the mom in what
oils to use for massaging the baby’s legs on a daily basis. It seems like it was just the other day
that the mom brought the baby by to see me. She had started walking on her own in her walker. I
advised the mom to get her some hard shoes with high tops to help give her more balance. I saw
the baby again, not long after, and she was walking. Clearly, nothing was going to stop her.

If the center was to be a doorway for such help, than so be it. This center also seemed to be one
that drew light workers to it. They came and sat with me and talked. It always seemed that in the
middle of a conversation they got the spiritual cleansing that was needed, one that allowed them
to release any deeply imbedded hurts and fears that had been blocking their spiritual growth.
Afterward, they felt relaxed and refreshed. Some were so relaxed, that they had to force
themselves to leave, but they always returned.

I knew this center was a special place of light and love, but since I could not charge for spirit
work we didn’t have the financial means to keep the center going. It was right after my mom got
sick that we closed the center for good, which also gave me the time that I needed to spend with
her.

While I’ve clearly been through a lot of exciting things, I was never alone. Over the course of the
past 10 years or so, while living here in Arizona, I have met many light workers. It seems as
though the forces that be have brought us together for a special reason.

Arizona is known to have many active power spots, but the real power comes from the people
who live here. With light workers scattered all over Arizona, I am happy to say that I have had a
chance to meet some of them.

Whispering Desert is part two of my life experience with the spirit world. It also involves my
meeting other light workers. My work with the spirit world does not end here. Instead, it will
come to a stop only when I can no longer help others.

This book is a collection of spiritual accounts that I hope will help to enlighten many. I trust that
my account shall encourage other light workers to feel that they, too, can safely relate some of
their own experiences, all a means of helping others to release their own fears.

May all who read this book continue to walk in the light.
