1. Situation Analysis: Deluti is a rural union of Khulna district whose maximum water resource
got saline after the attack of Aila. The other fresh water resources are not easily accessible. Deluti
fulfils their water requirements collecting rainy water in rainy season but have a great scarcity of
water in dry season. We bring WATER BANK a revolutionary social business idea to solve
Deluti’s biggest challenge.

2. Problem Identification:

The following problems have been identified which are associated with Deluti Union. The
problems are listed on the basis of priority:

1. Salinity of Water

2. Fresh water isn't easily accessible in dry season

3. Flaw in preserving rainy water resulting in pollution and no long term preservation
system

4. Low Income to afford water purifying tools

WATER BANK a revolution of water solution:

Objective: Preventing water scarcity Issues during dry Period

Business Model: We would start a social business named "WATER BANK" to solve water
issues of Deluti. The business’s main function will be collecting rain water from the people of
Deluti and also setting up a water harvesting plant. The collected water will be preserved for
future and excess water than the necessary limit will be sold in nearby cities for collecting
operating expenses. The activities of the business will be:

 Starting a water saving plant where water can be stored for more than 6 months without
vaporizing and pollution.

 Encouraging people to collect at least thrice or more rain water than their regular
requirement and collecting the water from them with a return policy while shortage and
providing monetary reward for excess than target collection.

 Providing local people special water container so that they can collect the best possible
quantity of water.

 Preserving the required amount of water for dry season in the plant until the dry season.

 Creating own water harvesting plant.

 Purifying the extra water and selling it in Khulna city during the dry season for profit,
bearing the necessary operating expenses.

 Providing necessary amount of water to the people of Deluti in dry season who gave us
the water.

Awareness Programmes for WATER BANK:

 Making people aware about the scarcity of water in dry season and insisting them to
preserve water in rainy season in WATER BANK.

 Giving monetary reward to the people collecting the water.

 Doing roadshows, organizing meetings at the house of Union Chairman or Educational


Institutions and distributing leaflets to spread awareness about saving water for the future
crisis in WATER BANK.

Future Visions of WATER BANK:

 Setting up WATERBANK plants in all 4554 Unions of Bangladesh.


 Starting the biggest mineral water brand with the highest market share in Bangladesh.
 Exporting water to countries with water scarcity.
