• Vertebral osteomyelitis due to pseudomonal infection
mainly occurs in elderly patients and often involves the
lumbosacral spine. Young people who use intravenous
drugs may also be affected.

infants and patients with hematologic malignancies and
neutropenia that has resulted from chemotherapy.
