Strategic Plan Goal 1: Completion – Increase student success as measured by completion of a

post-secondary credential and post-graduation placement in the 2016 state reporting year.

Strategic Plan Goal 2: Retention – Increase the percentage of students retained in the 2016
state reporting year.

Strategic Plan Goal 3: Enrollment – Increase access to post-secondary education through

college partnerships, financial support, and streamlined enrollment management processes.

Update on Strategic Initiatives

Requested sets of topical readers from Pearson and Bedford reps. These readers are possible sources of
articles to use in contextualized ENC 1101 classes (connected to goal 2).

Update on Academic Success Center and Early Alert Initiatives

Met with Chris Pulsifer, ASC writing lab coordinator, to discuss the work of the ENC 1101
MyLabsPlus committee.

Update on Enrollment

 Cancelled two 20163 Session 3 classes with low enrollment.

 Raised caps on all non-ENC classes to the maximum room capacity. (Most English classrooms on
South have a max of 24 students; a few can hold either 27 or 30 students.)
 Shadowed all 20171 classes with zero students enrolled, per Dr. Howdyshell’s request at the June
30th All Deans Meeting
