Hydro Power Development:

900 MW Arun -3 HEP (Nepal):

Project Development Agreement (PDA) to execute the project was signed

with Govt. of Nepal (GoN) on 25.11.2014. Cabinet Committee on Economic
Affairs (CCEA) approval for the project accorded by MoP on 22.02.2017.

600 MW Kholongchhu HEP (Bhutan):

Joint Venture (JV) Company for the execution of project was registered as
“Kholongchhu Hydro Energy Ltd.” [JV of SJVN & Druk Green Power
Corporation (DGPC)] in Bhutan on 12.06.2015 for execution of 600 MW
Kholongchhu HEP.

1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project (Bihar):

Investment approval for pre-construction activities of the project was

accorded by MoP on 26.05.2015. Environment Clearance for the project has
been accorded by MoEF on 28.02.2017.

Besides the above, the implementation of UDAY (Ujwal DISCOM Assurance

Yojana) by the beneficiaries States of Power generated from Nathpa Jhakri
Hydro Power Station (1500 MW) and Rampur Hydro Power Station (412
MW), has helped SJVN in clearance of pending payments by DISCOMs to
quite some extent.

REQUEST FOR COMPILATION OF IMPORTANT INITIATIVES / DECISIONS

TAKEN DURING THE LAST THREE YEARS OF THE GOVERNMENT

Fast Tracking of DPRs through Consultations Process

 A Consultation Process has been evolved for Fast Tracking of S&I activities
and preparation of quality DPRs wherein appraising agencies advise Developer
in carrying out various investigations / firming up the project layout etc. and
Clearance on 9 aspects are obtained before submitting the final DPR to CEA
for concurrence.

 DPRs of Attunli HEP (680 MW), Turga PSS (1000 MW) Dugar HEP (449 MW),
Bursur (800 MW) & Luhri-I (210 MW) HEPs have so far been prepared. Out of
which, DPRs for Turga PSS (1000 MW) and Dugar HEP (449 MW) have since
been concurred by CEA.
