you, or your partner, cringe when it’s worn out instead of thrown out.

The jacket vs the shorts
Keagile McCallum, 25, investment
advisor and Kabelo McCallum, 28,
attorney. Newlyweds who dated for
seven years before tying the knot.
Keagile ‘A friend gave Kabelo this
mustard leather jacket as a present.
It’s embarrassing when he wears it.
I don’t mind the colour too much, but
the leather looks like pigskin and it’s
too big for him. He insists on wearing it
anyway, even though it makes his body
look out of proportion. If it was a bit
more tailored I think it could work, but
he’s not prepared to alter it. It’s a lovely
warm jacket and I’m sure there are
lots of homeless people who would
appreciate it more than I do. I’d also
love him to lose the jeans and sneakers
look and go more up-market – a bespoke
suit, crisp white shirt and a bold tie.’
Kabelo ‘I don’t know why Keagile insists
on wearing shorts with high heels.
It makes her look like a busy mommy or
a tourist with bad taste. Heels are formal,
seductive and downright hot while shorts ‘Homeless people
are casual and made for comfort – the
two don’t mix. I know I’m going to be would appreciate
sleeping on the couch for this comment,
but those shorts make her bum look the jacket more
slightly on the bigger side too. Keagile
is tall and has an amazing body with legs than I do’
to die for. If you really want to stop traffic,
put her in a light summer dress or
a fitted, sleek number that would
combine perfectly with those heels.’

pro beach volleyball player

company. Dating for three years;
have lived together for a year.
Danica ‘Dominic can pretty much pull
off any look and colour, but he has
some retro gear that I can’t stand.
He loves to wear Seventies-style
pants and a brown polycotton shirt.

The pants are much too skinny and
make him look like a porno star and
the shirt is a really ugly colour in
hideous fabric. The worst is when he
pairs the two of them together – then
he just looks like a pimp. I wish Dom
would swap them for a classic pair
of jeans and a nice button-up shirt.
He likes to dress casually but I prefer
him in formal clothing. He once wore
a suit to work and when I saw him
in it I was blown away.’
Dominic ‘I think Danica looks
gorgeous when she dresses like
a high-powered businesswoman. She
likes to wear smart shoes and heels
with suits, which are fine, but there’s
one pair of black high heels I’d love
to throw in the ocean. She loves them
because they go with everything, but
constantly complains how much they
hurt her feet. When she gets home
her feet are red and swollen and she
limps around the house moaning
about them. Then the next day

for 18 months.
Kate ‘If I ever see Ulrich loafing
around the house in his faded track
pants and slip-slops, I’m going to
chuck them into a plastic bag labelled
“old and smelly” and leave them next
to the bin on the street. The pants
hang loose and just make him look
sloppy and the slops do nothing
for his long feet. I’d love to see him
wearing collared shirts that fit him
properly, V-neck jumpers with
horizontal stripes to fill him out and
cargo pants or corduroys with plenty
of pockets paired with smart brown
sandals or suede Hush Puppies.
Smart-casual is the best style for him
– the kind of get-up that’s perfect for
picnics, meeting my mom or lunch
at a quirky café in Melville.’
Ulrich ‘Kate is a beautiful woman who
should accentuate her assets more.
She tries too hard to dress down and
look boyish. She’s too shy to wear
