HOW WAS THE EXAM ANALYSIS OF NIACL ASSISTANT PRELIMS 2018 EXAM?

The new India assurance company limited that is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra is a general
insurance company in the public sector.

The NIACL prelim exams happens to be one of the most awaited in the country. The number
of vacancies available for the prelim exams would be around 685. However, the prelim
exams slot 1& 2 were conducted on 8th & 9th Sept 2018. The aspirants applied for this
online. Once they Complete the prelim exams they go through the medical, regional language
test etc. The NIACL Assistant result will be announced much later since the finals take place
in October.

The criteria for the candidates to appear for the NIACL prelim exams are that they should be
in the age gap of 21- 30 years and should have a valid bachelor's degree in any discipline from
a recognized university for NIACL 2018 exams.

The NIACL prelim exams of day 1 slot 1 were analyzed to be easy to moderate. NIACL
Assistant syllabus for prelims consists of three different categories: English language,
reasoning, quantitative aptitude.

The English language and reasoning sections were said to be easier and the quantitative
aptitude was said to be at the moderate level. It has been analyzed that on an average each
applicant would have easily attempted at least 65 questions among the 100 from all the three
categories.

NIACL Assistant Exam Pattern

Quantitative aptitude (moderate level):

Questions on average, quadratic equation and simplification seemed to be in the easy level.
While data interpretation (bar graph), missing number series and data sufficiency were at a
moderate level consisting of five questions each. Mensuration SI & CI, the problem of ages,
profit and loss each were 1 question from all these topics.

English language (easy-moderate level):

Sentence rearrangement and reading comprehension were at a moderate level with 5 & 7
questions on each. The single filler was all at easy-moderate level with 6 questions on each of
them.

Reasoning (easy-moderate):

Seating Arrangement questions: Square and Linear (Two rows) were tricky containing 10
questions on this topic. Inequality, syllogism, alphabet series and alphanumeric symbol series
were all at easy level with 5 questions on this topic. While there were two questions on
number-based topics. Slot 2/ shift 2 for day 1 was also analyzed as moderate to easy.

Quantitative aptitude:

Quantitative aptitude consisted of 10 questions on Simplification and approximation which
was easy. DI(table) and wrong number series each of 5 questions were also easy. There were
5 questions on Quadratic Equation (Regular 3, Quantity 1, 2- 2) and was easy to moderate.
Data sufficiency and miscellaneous had 5 questions each that were moderate.

Reasoning ability:

Syllogism, MOT, alphabet series and alphanumeric had 5 easy questions each.
5 questions on square seating arrangement Linear: Single Row: Some facing North, some
facing South Circular: facing the centre which was moderate. Parallel rows seating
arrangement also had 5 questions and we're easy-moderate. Miscellaneous (Blood Relation+
Direction Test+ Coding Decoding) was also easy-moderate with 5 questions on it.

English language:

English language section had a reading comprehension and sentence rearrangement with 7& 6
questions that were moderate. Cloze test had 5 easy questions and 6 easy questions on
sentence improvement and 6 easy-moderate questions on Error Spotting (choose the correct
Sentence). Applicants appearing for the next batches should consider the point that since the
overall level of complexity of the exams was easy to moderate the cutoff might be high also
there is a NIACL Assistant cut off sectional and overall score. It would be good to attempt
maximum questions keeping in mind the cutoff and negative marking.

Slot 3/ shift 3 for day 1 with English and reasoning were easy to moderate but the numerical
ability section was moderate.

English language:

The English section had 5 questions each that were easy to moderate on topics like
Sentence rearrangement, misspelt words and error detection. 7 moderate questions on
cloze test and 8 questions on Reading comprehension (story based)

Reasoning:

The reasoning section had 15 questions on a moderate level with Seating Arrangement:
Circular and Linear. 5 easy questions each on inequality and alphabet series. 1 alphabet based
easy question. 3 easy to moderate questions each on syllogism, direction sense and order &
ranking.

Numerical ability:

The numerical ability section comprised of 5 moderate questions on Data Interpretation:


Linear. 1 moderate question on boat & stream, 2 moderate questions each on SI/CI, profit &
loss and 4 moderate questions on miscellaneous.

Slot 4/ shift 4 for day 1 with English was easy to moderate but remained to be the most
scoring and easier section in comparison to reasoning and numerical ability.

English Language:

8 moderate questions on reading comprehension. 6 easy to moderate questions each on fillers
(word) and fillers (phrase) topics. 5 easy to moderate questions on sentence rearrangement
and phrase replacement.

Reasoning:

There were 15 moderate questions on puzzles and seating and rearrangement which were
complex but doable. There were 5 easy questions on syllogism and alphabet numeric series
and 4 easy questions on inequality. 4 easy to moderate questions on blood relation and 2 easy
to moderate questions on miscellaneous topics.

Numerical ability:

Numerical ability section had 5 moderate questions on data interpretation(tabular) but scoring,
10 moderate questions on miscellaneous topics. 15 simplification/ approximation questions
that were easy and 5 easy questions on numbers series (missing).

To conclude the NIACL exam for 2018 was overall an easy to moderate exam which assures
applicants to attempt at least 65-78 questions.
